      That's not quite right though. The issue here is more, don't die with your team because your team makes a mistake. You're not there to make them feel better for dying with them just because they think you dying with them means you're doing your job.

      yeah, but all this video is gonna do is make supports who enter and leave a fight with 100% health and mana think they "played it right"
      if your team gets aced and you have 100% health and mana.

It's literally the same thing for adc's or any other damage dealer btw, because a dead x is useless no matter what role you play.

      Bad supports that hug turret all game are going to watch this and say "I don't die, I'm a good support!"
      The majority of bad supports have no idea over what they should be doing with their team whether they should be pushing, freezing, ward, roam, etc. They just hug turret and soak xp all lane they don't step up with their adc to poke or trade or get vision. But they have made several videos for several years now on that subject and bad supports still do these things.
      This video will help bad supports validate their playstyle I think.

    I've been a main support/healer in games for around 17years at this point, in any game (i've been on league for 5), supporting have some general rules.
    -A support death is very impactful, everything can go south very fast since often we are multiplying or denying damage, when the team looses us their assesment of their effectiveness often goes wrong.
    They expect too much damage or too much defense...Why?
    -Because a Support alive often goes unoticed most of the time people just "Expect" you do stuff, if you don't it's easy to see that you don't but it's harder to see how above and beyond you go for your team (try to don't worry about this, we are an invisible hand).
    -In most games the mental energy we don't use on microcombos, we use it on chaining macroplays.
    In my groups I'm often the shotcaller/monitor, here or in an mmo. Which means, make *As much communication you can*. No your teammates are NOT dumb, don't be obnoxious, they are focused in another task, they are the damage specialists, we are the enhancers, the quality of life, we are who keep the frontline alive longer for it to feel invencible or who multiplied the dps to an impressive number. We focus on improvement, communication is as essencial as knowing when to use those skills. *You're in a possition to often see what the damage dealers won't*
    A tip I give in this game is, ping a lot but never to flame anyone, be a support, if you hate the guy just swallow your pride for 40minutes and be strong, but remember you're here to improve your team.
    !!!Ping over your ally you intention, back off, bait, defend.
    My allies know that if I ping more than 2 times, it is an emergency of some sort, even with the bait ping, that basically tells my laner "Bait them, something good is going to happen" often because we are getting ganked.
    .
    .
    .
    Honestly, I'm so used to pings I wish I could take them to other games. That bait/defend and target/retreat ping are amazing

    As a support constantly running into adcs trying to backseat my ults (like the sona example) / items, I feel like riot should auto timeout people for pinging that agressively. I have been on a Taric binge recently and ally Katarina was upset I didn't ult her at a bot lane fight where her laner, Fizz showed up about 5 seconds later. She was low on health after getting a kill and so he jumped her specifically.
      My w was on her, so I could have ulted, but my split second decision was to not because I thought she would die within the 2.5 seconds of it "channeling" before it procs. She ended up shmooving and evading enough that it looked like a misplay on my part in the end because my ult would have saved her...
      As a support, you are damned if you do, damned if you don't. That Kat went on to solo carry the game, but at the end I saw she didn't buy ANY control wards. Rest of the team bought at least several.
      Point is, she won us the game that time, but in a different game, she's most likely a coin flip. She was making crazy plays that didn't make sense. It somehow worked out in the end. I'm glad for the carry but I'm still holding to my decision

Aside from that delivery is very nice and concise, enunciation is clear and overall pace is great. Love these guides.

    What should be noted is that players rage you in low elo for not diving. They will stop trusting you and refuse fights or outright make you die by calling plays and leaving. Because they think you should be doing something you shouldn't and will tilt and troll. It's amazing to watch how insane people sound. It's like they can't see anything happening and straight-up invent some fantasy story about the game. Not one of them will ever go back and watch the replay.

  • @Kamishi845
    @Kamishi845 Před rokem +4

    Literally me yesterday. Was Milio with Ezreal vs Draven and Lux. My Ezreal was pretty bad (he died several times 1v1 vs Draven when I started to roam) but when I was in the lane we crushed the lane so hard I don't think Ezreal understood how much I did for him and the lane. Then hovered bot side while clearing vision and he died again vs Draven and started to flame me and asked why I played Milio as if the problem was the champion that won the lane for him into arguably an otherwise pretty difficult matchup, when the problem was that he initiated a fight when I wasn't even close to support him.
    Or the Lucian that got so mad because I was hitting creep to push for level 2 that he intentionally gave two kills. I played Seraphine vs Jinx and Xerath and to me it was insanity because Lucian and Seraphine are almost as good as Lucian and Nami early and can absolutely stomp their lane. Instead he let us get pushed in which is bad vs Jinx and Xerath since they got better long range harass. It created a terrible mood in the team even though we were actually winning elsewhere, I sold my supp item because Lucian actually left the game and I thought he wasn't coming back and it was just terrible from there. His actions singlehandedly ruined the game.
    I am not going to do wrong or bad wave control just because my adc doesn't know better and most don't complain when you help but when you get that one bad egg this is why bot is one of the most frustrating lanes to play because they *think* the passive enchanter is the correct playstyle even when it's not.

    • @ezrealislife8694
      @ezrealislife8694 Před rokem

      @@Kamishi845 That is not the main reason. Draven needs to get a lead early, his passive is nearly worthless if he doesn’t get kills. Ezreal can potentially poke Draven out when he goes to catch axes, but surviving lane is more than enough to make Draven useless. Obviously Draven is stronger in a lane all in, but no one in the right mind would fight a Draven head on as Ezreal in lane. Stats don’t mean anything for Ezreal. His win rate is significantly lowered by players who don’t know how to play him. If you look at win rates, you’ll probably see Ezreal having a negative win rate vs every bot laner in the game. But in reality, Ezreal doesn’t have a single losing matchup when it comes to ADCs, the most difficult ones are at worst skilled matchups.

    • @Kamishi845
      @Kamishi845 Před rokem

      What you state is true for almost every adc vs Draven, so I don't really see that as much of a valid reason since the point is that neither player plays it perfectly, then the scale tips in Draven's favor because it's easier for him to punish mistakes and create leads than it is for Ezreal early. There's also the support differences and jungle influence as well. Yes, if Ezreal is able to poke Draven out he can win the lane that way, and if Ezreal is able to freeze the lane he can also win that way, but that assumes the Draven is bad and dumb and Ezreal isn't and I don't think that's a fair comparison whatsoever.

    • @ezrealislife8694
      @ezrealislife8694 Před rokem

      @@Kamishi845 Since when did I assume the Draven is bad? All I’m saying is that Ezreal’s kit makes it difficult for Draven to get kills in lane, mainly due to Arcane Shift. If Draven ever tries to engage, Ezreal can just E back and Q for free poke. Or just E and Q farm from afar. No other ADC can do both at once. Draven either needs to take free poke by constantly blocking Ezreal Q, or let Ezreal farm.

    I disagree with 6:04. It's not teamfight so if the choice is between you die or your adc dies, choice is obvious, you can't assist dead adc. Here lucian was realy out of position, so hard to trade sona life for his, but sona did nothing to help him. At least ult shaco or exhaust him when he was nearby, lucian would get extra seconds of life.
    We don't know how fed is shaco, but with flash, exhaust and ult up sona could try to aggro shaco, no way for her to die without blitz Q, it would be waste of time for shaco to attack her. She got 0/1/4, so it's possible that lucian had 4 kills, with any sona help lucian could live or it could be 1 for 1 or viego could come and kill low hp enemy. Meanwhile sona is half screen away with full resources and everything up, recalling after that because she can't do anything without lucian.
    I know that i put too much faith in randoms, but when i'm playing support (renata main) i'm trying to actively support my team, if that means that I meatshield for my fed adc, then so be it :)

    Vision part is ok, but I strongly disaggree with "stay safe".
    If in 2v2 you are safe as support and hiding behind your adc - then he is the target and he will not be able to give all his damage. So it doesn't matter if you are alive - you are loosing the team fight by throwing your adc into danger. Tanking few hits, being in the team fight and pressuring opponent by showing that you are here and ready to help - thats the good support qualities, not hiding behind adc playing for your kda.

    • @TurkeyMeat
      @TurkeyMeat Před rokem

      The examples they gave were situations where it wasn't a clean 2v2 and they were trying to make space for their adc regardless. If your adc is mispositioning you shouldn't sacrifice your own positioning to save them.

    • @therine8214
      @therine8214 Před rokem

      Sure, if adc could not be saved - then just save yourself. I'm not suggesting to feed with hopeless adc,but if there is a chance to win the fight (saving mispositioned adc is also a win) then help him with everything you have including valuable resource called health. My point is that half-help when support is always behind is worse then afk, its like pretending that you are actually doing something. This is making adc life much more difficult and could give false impression that you are actually there ready to help. Help or don't.

      @@therine8214 I love supports like that as a support who likes long range champs. Just one combo and they are effectively out of the fight because they stepped up. Could not be better. Especially enchanters because once you CC them they are done. Easiest pick in the game pre team fight.

      true, but in this *type* of scenario most of the time this person would turn and die instead of saving themselves, so while its true that specifically here it may have been good to do so, if they make a habit of running first then trying to help it will cover most scenarios better than their previous habit would

      I don't think so, no way a sona ult can hit those 3, most damage came from Ahri and there was a shaco trap on the left (very sure that blitz was on cooldown there). That glacial augment was nasty and when the stun ended...it's likely that shaco would've thrown a knife, it's better to try to keep the ult for a return kill

    Sona's been nerfed to the ground and she's especially hard to play in lower ELO (silver, gold). People just don't understand how to properly play around her or expect too much out of her. In higher ELO she might be a bit better balanced (talking about high skill caps). I'm an ex Sona main (Janna, Nami too) and reached D4 several times and seasons, even D3 promos, but that's as far as I could go. But since the meta shifted to shit a couple seasons ago, I can't even get out of gold now, just doing the same stuff, playing in the same way. Too many garbage items have been introduced to the game, also all these new champs with coinflip mechanics, I can't stand LoL anymore. The game used to be extremely fun to play, now I despise it.

    In all seriousness, the biggest gap I notice in every game is the support gap. There are supports who ward, position correctly and provide utility. And then there are the bozos that go to waves that haven't even crashed yet and clear them even when it puts them on the other side of the map from the next objective they should be warding. That's the stuff you guys should be talking about.

    • @whitelabrat
      @whitelabrat Před rokem +1

      I play Brand a good bit but usually only with ADC I know because of this. If I know some one is aggressive and wants to farm champions/towers early Brand is a good choice. With others if I damage one or 2 minions and it throws off their tempo they get really mad because they are not that aggressive style. There is nothing wrong really with either style it is just personal preference. This is why I ask in champ select if my ADC wants heals or damage or CC in their support. If some one asks for damage and locks in Trist I have a pretty good idea what is coming and I lock in Brand. Games can be won either way just depends on the person.
      I think too many people just assume if a Brand W's so one minion gets hit along with a champ then E's the minion to harass more they are automatically wrong. If the other duo can't play the game because of no health that is also a win. You just have to make sure your ADC is on board with how that tempo will look.

      Sona has 0 lane but can help not lose lane and then offers a lot in the mid and late. Gives allies more dmg for objectives, heals and shields to save their feeding @, movement speed to kite and chase enemies and a good ult. It is a champion to pick when you think your team has worse tfs than the enemies or when you have a losing mid or top lane from the draft. Easy champ as well

      She is good if you have a champ that needs to be baby sat much of the early game as ADC. Late game she is great in death ball comps where constantly heal/shielding combines with her ult. Seraphine is good but she doesn't really heal and her strength is more harassing at longer range early. I like both but for different situations. If I know the other team is less mobile or tank heavy I use Seraphine to CC and disrupt engages but if I think my team will have the tanks or less mobility I pick Sona. Later she can counter a lot of poke and harass while helping tanky engages.
