I have a situation where the plumber crossed the hot and cold lines. Can that be corrected at the trim install?

I notice in Delta instructions that come with this valve, it says to install the 3-O rings on the riser AFTER you make solder connection to the risers but the risers come with the O rings already installed. So you remove the O rings, make your solder connection to risers and then reinstall O rings, correct?

@@deltafaucet Memo from Conrad Plumb/Mech to Delta Design Team, VERY POOR DESIGN on this rough valve, there is so much wrong it's hard to know where to start. First off you must put a copper sweat coupling over the inlet, naturally, the coupling makes it too large to fit into the plate from above and, speaking of the plate, the holes to screw it down to the stringer are too small! I notice in the video you used drywall screws, that's fine for drywall but unfortunately, you are not installing drywall and, drywall screws are a BIG FAT NO-NO on plumbing installations. They are MUCH too brittle and break easily and are worthless for installing this valve, drop ear ell for shower head outlet, even screwing 1 piece tubs or shower pan flanges, etc. it is bad practice to use drywall screws. We prefer to use coated exterior deck-type screws, yes, they are expensive but they do not break off in the wall or under the floor which is rather important.
I could go on but you get the idea, I got this valve installed & it works but, not a happy camper, was expecting a better design from Delta, especially @ nearly $200 retail, your universal tub/shower valve design puts this valve to shame design-wise.

Is this an universal rough in or just for delta tub fillers?

Be very careful when finishing floor not to exceed mounting screw max height - eg 2 layers of 1/2" subfloor for 1/4" tile, set with a 1/2" notched trowel for thinset for larger tile will be a problem....don't ask me how I know... 😢

    Risers and “bolts” not screws.
