    Good explaining about the chinese trick to find something reliable.
    But i have something to ad here. A good and reliable turbo is balanced. Otherwise the turbine is going to have vibrations and is going to wobble and this is whats causing wear.
    I would recommend to buy a good chinese turbo and get it to the next turboshop just for balancing. If its allready balanced you usually can see some drilling marks on the compressorwheel.

    I found them as well and wasn’t sure if they meet my expectations. Would you recommend a good friend buying and installing them? Is there a noticeable power increase? Thanks for sharing your expertise :)

    i bought the same cartridge for my 330d (bigger fins, not cut on half every second one) its the same as yours. The question is do i need to optimize the ecu to make it work? because i actually lost some power with that cartridge (i did not touch the ecu after instaling that turbo) and the power should be higher than before.
    btw that is a great video man.

      Depending on the year the ecu will adjust it self for miner upgrades. The diesel may be different, I am not to familiar with BMW diesel. I have a Dodge Cummins I put compound turbos on it and you at least need a boost fooler. With a boost fooler it will trick the ecu in adding more fuel. I have videos on the Dodge compounds. Fuel = boost = power, you need enough fuel to spin the turbo.

      @@Glennfixthanks for your fast reply. I will definitely chip tune my car an we’ll see what next. is your car chip tuned? is this turbo cartidge still working? how many miles?

    • @Glennfix
      @Glennfix  Před měsícem

      I did not chip it. I did the turbos about 90,000 drove it till 140,000and sold it. No problems. I picked up a 2014 750li wrecked with 58,000 repaired it and I using it as a daily driver.

    Just changed my alternator and my belts and found your video for the turbo itself. Man I probably should have done this and the oil return lines while I was in there. How are the turbos holding up after a year?

    Is That like stage 1 turbo or stage 0+ ?
    You think is better than stock for 600+ hp?

    • @Glennfix
      @Glennfix  Před 2 lety +1

      It is just a little above stock, just a upgrade. Nothing radical

    • @JSpool1
      @JSpool1 Před rokem +1

      I think a tune would open them up. These seem to be upgrades like a stage 1. Hence the 11 wheel or so bullet wheel. Any turbo upgrade requieres a tune to see where they peak now. A custom one where you can datalog and a tuner can see what’s going on boost wise

      Ok thx - likely give it a shot - have you by chance heard of anyone trying to cool that hot vee area as they refer to it . Say venting the hood or anything of that nature - many says it’s the culprit of burning up the oil and the valve seals going out prematurely

    • @Glennfix
      @Glennfix  Před 2 lety

      No but I would like to know how to cool it. Turbos get hot, especially when you run them hard. They say the new hot vees don't have that problem, I am not sure what they dii to fix it.
