Considering the state of Seb's Chiefy when you started on it, that is in SUCH great nick now. Very much looking forward to seeing the masking & painting episode now. Meanwhile, grab a pint or two, man. It's Easter.
Just for a moment, I thought the Foden was going to kill the shed! Come to think of it. A shed stencilled on the cab door would look good. Better than rings on a barrel.
Mr. Hewes, you do excellent work. It's a pleasure watching your videos and they are very educational as well. BTW I'm envious of your shop and all the equipment you have. lol Cheers from Canada!
great to see the mighty Foden doing what it was built for - and doing it so gracefully, i bet them REME boys never did it as good as this and keep things so clean - if only they made a scale version of the Chieftain and Foden keep up the grand work Joe n Seb
Very difficult to keep it that clean and do it that quick at night, absolutely banging it down, in the middle of a German forest, or English wood or field. I do enjoy the Chieftain, Centurion and all the other pieces of British kit, takes me back to BAOR REME LAD 75-85. Keep up the good work!!😂
I was with REME attached to a Chieftain Regiment back in the early 70's and I can honestly say the engines needed to be as a pack because they broke down more often than a Lada or Trebant!
Finding your channel scratches an itch I had forgotten existed. So seeing as I will never own a tank, I'm going back to model making after a hiatus of 34 years. The plan is the Tamiya Dragon Wagon. I only found out about it from watching The Chieftain visit one on CZcams. You could do with the real thing for shows.
The Chieftain with concrete in the engine bay would probably be more reliable than this example. Much less smoke as well. The concrete thing has happened here in Oz, as the Leopard AS1 were decommissioned and placed around various locations as memorials.
You should look into either getting a personal mic to wear or get a boom mic for the camera so we can hear you better. The engine on the Folden really echoes inside the big barn. Amazing work!
thats a similer setup to what we hookup in the sportfishers we build. has a coupleing similer to that, bolts to the shaft it has to be lined up perfect. how we do it is we bolt isolators onto the engine, they sit on a engine bed. then we use filler guages to go around the coupler untill its the same on all sides useing the isolators to control the heights, they sit on nuts that u turn to go up or down, then once there in place, we bolt the engine in place.
Never seen such a tidy engine bay
It wasnt this clean even in the factory where they made them :D
cracking!
check out a picture of a Leopard engine bay. this is bloody chaos.
That Foden is a cracking piece of kit and considering its ex army its in great condition love the low down deep burble of the engine
It’s in great condition because REME haven’t been at it for a while.
@@johnnunn8688 😂😂😂
Engine bay gearbox and engine all looked immaculate even better than when they are brand-new.
You never disappoint keep up the great work
Fucking enormous!
You need a bluetooth mic clipped onto your shirt so that your watchers can hear you clearly.
That Foden is one seriously useful piece of kit . Brill video with no swearing and gobby people .
Man the Foden sounds soo good...
1:35 Also that tactical wood coming in clutch.
@My Cancer Journey, your picture is very small but you look like a man. If not, I’m sorry for your cancer journey.

You lads got that engine bay, gearbox and engine looking proper factory ... 👍👍👏👏
That Foden is a serious piece of kit. All went like clockwork, Well done.
I always look forward to updates on your channel. Yours and Master Milos are two must watch channels, together with Armoured Archives.
Fab job dropping the engine in - mint to watch.
Foden - what a machine! I think Thunderbird2 probably had a couple of those tucked away…
Restoring them looks so satisfying
Really good seeing a major step forward performed so effortlessly, apparently, with the Foden providing an important role. Marvellous!
That foden is a lovely bit of kit! My dad worked for Scammell in the 60’s to 80’s and did a lot of work with the MOD, he has some great stories!
I absolutely love what you guys are doing over there. Thank you so much for sharing this stuff with us!
Thanks good to see the foden being used what a peace of kit great video
Brilliant work. Top job with that Foden too. Having the right tool for the right job and all that!
Just came across this, bought back so many memories and sent me looking through my picture archive. Many thanks.
Incredible attention to detail Joe what an absolute fantastic job of one of my favourite tanks the Mk 10 Chieftain
That Fodens doing Sterling work……it’s like the REME gofer
Without it your f**ked😂….nice job lads👌🏼
A lovely neat job always a pleasure to see an engine painted up beautiful job and you drop her bang on the engine plinths 👍
"Actualy gonna use it," I'd love to see this thing pop some T-72's.
Nothing like replacing a power pack, back into a clean engine compartment, looking good guys, bedt regards from a Kiwi living in Australia 👍👍👍
Solid video yet again... that foden is one slick unit

The hiab was just as impressive as the tank!
You guys make loading a tank engine look easy 😂
Smooth operators ! 💪

The colour of the engine is oddly calming, probably a good choice considering what it takes to fit them! Ted is still best
Top bombing fellas... outstanding 👍🏻
Damn that engine is HUGE!!
Like a precious stone being mounted in a piece of fine jewellery... Nice job gang..
Very nicely done....both of you.

You need a taller shop! What a close fit with the Foden moving that engine around. Great work.
Good job
I wish I had an engine hoist that works that smoothly.
Cool !
Great stuff joe , keep um coming 👍😉
A voiceover would be nice, explaining each step. It would take these videos to the next level and more people would watch.
The Foden is a very useful engine and causes no confusion or delay lol
let's go baby, engine time
cool videos, thx

That looked a lot easier than the setup you had for the Barv
The BARV was a challenge!
Wish I had a toy crane that big
Why has that foden got a white front? . Loved the concentration on your face with the tounge out . Brilliant vid as always 🇬🇧👍🇬🇧👍
They are fiberglass front panels, got replaced but didn’t get painted I assume
Ohhhh the tongue of concentration 😂😂
In Aus we commonly refer to it as a Plumbers Crack.
Please get yourselves some clip on microphones, we cannot always hear the commentary.Interesting content though.
Bloody hell, the only time you'll see an engine bay without a small lake of oil in it.
Boys toys. I am SO jealous I can't be there...🙁
