And the probable outcome would be that if you had to use violence to retrieve your property, the cops would probably charge you for assaulting the criminals. It's ridiculous.
Sounds about right, I work as a plant mechanic and we've had no end of machines nabbed from sites, most recent was a little bobcat loader with two trackers on it, showed the information to the police with the trackers location, police turn up and it's a travellers site, they don't bother entering and that's that. Few years prior I had my van broken into with about 3k of tools stolen and the police didn't give two shits about that either.
That's what happened to my camper van, was traced to a traveller site next day, I rang the police while on the way there thinking they'd meet me there for backup... I got warned if I went into the site I could potentially be arrested for public order offences, breach of the peace & aggrivated trespass (private site).... couldn't make it up. Never saw it again. A camping friend is also a serving officer in that area, she spent the night in our camper a few months previous, loved it, inspired to buy one herself.... When I contacted her thinking she could pull some internal strings She instantly said forget it, we're not allowed anywhere near the site because of known Firearms and organised crime gangs operating from there, it's not safe for police even in the nearby roads, Firearms units are forbidden from entering due to risk of being overpowered and their guns stolen............ welcome to broken Britain.

I've had similar experience with the police when my wife had her handbag stolen. Weren't interested made us feel like we we're asking a favor for them to create a crime report. But if you send an "offensive" tweet then you'll have 10 units at your door within 20 minutes. Ridiculous. I hope you get your landrover sorted, sorry to hear about the tools, must be so frustrating
Happened to me - Brand new Focus ST stolen - They did attend but only to laugh at me when I suggested they get outside and do something. Response was "dont think we will be catching anyone in our transit" I pointed out if I went to the post office and stole 28K (price of my car) I would have ARV, Helicopters, Dogs - the lot. They said hardly the same, we assume you are insured and left. Mine was tracked for about 3 hours until they stripped the car, same response, "no one can attend for that" - Havent bothered with the police since. They wonder why people hate them.
Someone I know had their bike nicked, had a tracker as well, same enthusiastic response from the fuzz. They got a few mates together and a couple of vans, went and emptied the place, everything got taken, tools, shelves, doors, chairs, the kettle and tea bags, the roller shutter, literally everything. Have to do everything yourself these days. Also, if you don't already, fit trackers on stuff you think might go missing.
“Why hate on the police” are you serious!! Because they are useless, worse than useless, corrupt, power crazed, arrogant…….. I could go on but what’s the point, it’s not just the met that needs dissolved, the whole lot are the same and it’s not just the UK
I've had items stolen and I got more sympathy from my cat that I did from the police. I even had a picture of the thief on CCTV and the police still were not interested. 🙄
@@ghostlight69420 theres that old ying and yang effect - if you didn't have robbers you wouldn't need the old bill - so to keep the old bill employed, nick a robber, let him out to keep them employed
Ah Joe mate 😢 I remember you mentioning the break in at the time and I always wondered what the story was. You’re in the same county as me and a couple of years ago they did a “police 24/7” type programme which in one episode they explained that on one night they had only 4 crews covering the whole county. It’s no better anywhere else, my firm were based in Hertfordshire and over about 10 years we had over £750,000 of vehicles, kit, fuel, batterie taken. We even had detailed video footage of robberies, police linked alarms, you name it. Never got a thing back and they didn’t attend at all for the last 6 thefts.
I had my CAT nicked twice last year, confronted them at 2 in the morning which I wouldn't advise but got a good description but the Police where more interested in my neighbour parking too close to corner in a very quiet suburban housing estate. Really sorry to hear about your tools, mine cost a few hundred quid to sort out but yours is devastating at 14k.
Tell the Police you’re at the address of the robber, you’re going to get the vehicle back. Tell them you have a gun! ( needle gun)😂 or tell them the robbers misgendered you, or made homophobic remarks. They’ll be there in a flash!
I had to do that to get my Welder Geny. Police said don't go. I went and told them I was outside his house Hour later they showed and tried to convince me I'd sold it a year before and was trying to get it back for free. Got it back as I was blocking the thief in.
Yeh we live and work in a rural area and had some plant,a ranger and a sportster 550 nicked by people that live in caravans.Found our gear and got it all back😉. Dealt with it ourselves. Rural police are reluctant to get involved at best.
Done that, the theives (known to cops) called the cops afterwards. Cops tried to elicit 'my accomplices) and charged me with assault(dropped eventually). Same dickhead family wrapped their car around a street light...neighbours called me,l arrived...No sympathy, just laughed at them moaning n groaning...l advised mutual friends of this lots location n when the tossers eventually got out of hospital their residence had been picked clean n several of their posh motors nicked...plus house wash trashed. Crime have more rights than citizens sadly. Cops wonder why some folks get proactive? Huh!
We've got local plod tarted up as Rural Crime units rolling around the roads of Matlock area. We've also got a 'pooljng' Regt assembling and taking over the town end of line station car park. They don't pay any local taxes but the DDD (area) Council can't wait to provide these cvanners with portaloos to use, (when they can be bothered). Their recently arrived reserves on the pay to park tarmac don't, yet there's their undies drying on the schtinky breeze, dawgs a wow wow howling., and up go out poll taxes to provide for these lifting scummers Never paying for their assumed ivernight/week/month parking provision, whilst they scan the district for their next robbing sesh . The local folk have had enough and, sod the plod, are bout to act. First encountered pikys back in 68, when living down S, and they tried to nick my brothers tricycle off him - soon sorted and recovered, but 'they : were like a rash all around Bucks, filthy swine. If recent times their descendants are swinging out Matlock abd locale. They look and smell the same as back then except today they've all got brand new trucks n vans No difference. .
13. 31 is the shute that took empty cases and links from the 7.62 coax gpmg to a bin under the gun. The ranging .50 mg was situated to the left and below the coax. The .5O was fired by the larger of the two foot peddles at the gunners feet. The long green tube on the gunners side is the emergency site. The one that was missing was the gunners main site. I am guessing that they were removed because the sight also incorporated the Lazar range finder. Mk 10 was after my time, but I think they eventually took iut the .50 as the Lazar took over.
My house was broken into in order to get the keys to the garage, i had all my snap on, Mac and KD tools nicked. The Police did come out and i was told to remove the barb wire from the top of the fence that the previous owner had put up, if the thieving c*** had hurt himself on it i would have been prosecuted. You cant make it up.
really feel for you Jo - a number of years back i had a load of tools pinched out my Land Rover too, was only a rag top, and the tools were neatly in the back, in a padlocked large ammo box bolted to the floor, they got in and spent several minutes i guess breaking in, passing tools to someone outside and making off with them, no damage done to the vehicle as the rag tops are easy peasy, i always hope they will hurt themselves in doing these things, which makes me think to set some kind of booby trap, a large spike for them to sit on (make 'em think twice) or electric shock, discharge an entire battery into them so they end up black and charred, might not be allowed i had close connections with a Landy dealership, the thieves learnt to short the alarms by unscrewing an indicator, stick in a penny and break in, all you'd get was a single beep and nothing else as it shorted out, they then pinched several Landy's from behind the dealership, neatly drove across several gardens between fence posts and away they went - probably destined for a few containers somewhere stripped down for parts and off abroad - Landy's have always been a car to nick and Land Rover have done so little to make them idiot proof (think i might patent the spike in the seat idea, hmmm, i can see a slight issue though) that always makes me niffed when a copper asks what you want them to do, well to be honest i have no idea, perhaps stay in your office out the rain, have a tea and some biscuits, get fat and perhaps have your self a nice heart attack, useless bunch of good for nothing, to be honest they are well past their best and none of them appear to be able to do the job they were tasked for, to protect persons and property, complete waste of space and i second the thoughts to breakup the Met Police, here here and lets face it, sadly most coppers are human, most have probably been in the Services, come out and the only suitable job for them is the old bill, good at pushing pens about, driving round in fast cars and terrorising the natives, as for the other end of the job once a murderer kills a 17yo girlfriend, gets 12 years and eligible for parole after 6 or so, utter madness when it comes to fingerprinting, or finding video footage, or even collecting that footage, its way too much work, no resources for any of that, get a crime number so you can make a claim on insurance and then pay through the nose when you renew, basically don't tell insurance because they will sting your ass - i had an insurance company wanted to sting me £600 guess what i said?
Oh the joys of needle gunning armoured vehicles ! I have spent countless hours doing that. For some reason it causes the other people to evacuate the workshop. A real bummer about the loss of your tools.😀🇬🇧
Td5 Landrovers will still start, run and drive (30mph ish) with a non working in tank fuel pump, the fuel pump relay taken out, or the pump unplugged, so long as you don't unscrew the fuel filter or let air in the system. If the engine still runs, listen down the fuel filler to hear if the pumps running, to diagnose a non working pump, amazing they still run really...... good video as always, cheers
Neighbours of mine actually caught the thieves after they had assaulted and robbed, again, a sixty odd year old farmer living by himself. They rugby tackled them and then sat on them whilst the police arrived. Plod immediately instructed my neighbours to get off the thieves at which point the thieves ran off into the darknes while Plod watched them go. My neighbours were told they should think themselves lucky they weren't being charged with assaulting the thieves. The old chap was just forgotten about....
They should not have wasted a phone call. Simply give the perpetrators a damn good kicking they will never forget and they may learn the errors of their ways.
@@philhawley1219 that doesn't work either, a couple of years ago a house a few doors down from mine was robbed by someone known to the owner. The owner found out who it was and invited him around, they were a bit bloody when they left. The police turned up with two minibuses of police in riot gear to arrest the owner.
We had a golf stolen called the police as they drove off and then contacted the insurance first thing in the morning. The insurance company dropped off the courtesy car before the police had arrived 😂
That is the Commanders sight that he was complaining about. The Gunners sight is missing and I didn't see the PRI, or the linkage from the gunners sight, which sits just in front of the commanders sight. At least you have the auxilary telescope which is that long sight just to the left of the gunners station. Most likely it is rusted in place as that was common even in service. Also missing was the MOST important piece of equipment, namely the boiling vessel! Sorry but I used to work on these sighting systems in the 70's and 80's.
The first hurdle is getting past civilian call takers who have a set time to complete the call. Most times it never gets to the Bobby on the beat. A tracker activation with location is a priority call and the call takers should process that call straight away. There's three crimes for one lock up if they had. Makes my blood boil as I'm a retired cop and as one on the ground loved tracker activations to catch the little b***ards in the act. Sorry you had a shit experience with the police. I've called the police as a civilian and have had a similar experience with the call taker. 😠
@@MrHewes yeh. I get that mate. Its damn frustrating for you though when your doing the ground work to help start an investigation and nothing gets done. By the way. Love you videos as I learnt to drive a chieftain in 1987 even before I got my car licence. Great seeing the old girls being brought back to life. 👍🏻
Last year my van was broken in, better part of £15000 of tools taken, yes they were insured but not the point as that was 25 years of collecting them, later that week I saw some of them advertised for sale on Facebook (they didn’t even bother taking my security marking of) , I contacted the police who told me they would not be attending as they are “busy”, the only advice they gave me was that if I pretended to be a buyer and went to the thief’s house then I would be arrested for causing a disturbance. So end result is I lost my tools and the thief got protection from the police. You genuinely couldn’t make it up.
Indeed, the police will drop everything and arrest YOU for threats and intimidation. Apparently the future belongs to whoever steals it first. Thank you Klaus Schwab.
I had my van back turned over one night after I forgot to put a padlock on. 2 saws, blower and hedge cutter went. If I remember right, truck insurance didn’t cover but had tool cover. After that, I’ve never left anything in of value and left the doors open but had a steering lock on. I like my TD5 😁
I had a few vans done. During the last break-in, one of the scum bags cut itself as there was blood all over it. The old bill was not interested and did not even come and take DNA from all the blood. That is a nice-looking Landy, you have no issues selling it if you wanted to. Worth fixing back up though.
The 50 cal was a useful soft vehicle gun as well as as a ranging gun. Superseded by the laser range finder it should have remained with a modified recoil damper it could have provided sustained fire not just 3 round bursts. It could fire full auto if the loader held the trigger down but Ill advised. Interested to know why this vehicle never made it to the final mark. Did it finish it's service in Berlin? Over ride master controller (OMC) switch or O MY CHRIST switch is the battery parallel switch. Absolute last resort for power in a skirmish. The Stop Running Back to secure the gun recoil is useless. Cost a colleague of mine his career, turned him into a paraplegic when the gun recoiled into him when the barrel hit an obstacle. He was tuning the radio at the time which use to be mounted in the tunnel above the BV, pre clansman. Just keep the guard made.
Man, I feel ya. The worst thing is that you provided the Police with the exact location of the thieves and one of the vehicles and the cops did nothing. That is just wrong on so many levels. It can lead to people thinking the cops are involved in illegal activities and are covering up the crimes...
I had tools and body parts stolen out of a VW, and called the police and got the same reaction. I drove around town and found all my stuff in the back of a VW. He said that he had found the tools, stereo and body parts in a bush, and I called bullshit. The cops told me to take my stuff and leave before I was arrested for obstruction. He was neither charged or arrested.
I do quite a lot of metalwork where I need to clean junk off the surface. My go-to device, is an angle-grinder with a 'cup brush'. They are viscous on paint/ corrosion and quick - you cover area quickly! Most angle-grinders have an M14 thread, and the cup-brush just screws straight on. You're welcome. :)
Hey guys I'm a welder ...been welding all my life ...hear me out ... I kno needle guns are blunt ended ..but ....if u sharpen maybe 4 to 6 of the rods to a point..(it doesn't have to be super sharp just a regular point ).....it will rip thru paint way faster then you are doing right now man
We had our car rammed by a driver reversing at speed to avoid road works , two sets of cctv caught it and a neighbour was an eye witness, who had words with the driver who then drove off without leaving any details, we traced him , gave all this evidence to the police , who declined to follow it up. The insurance company took him to court and recovered costs, but it still makes me 😡
i feel your pain , had 5k worth of snap-on taken from a van, police had crystal clear film of the filth , they were in a cloned van. great channel mate
Defender owners wanting cheap parts are defender owners own worst enemy. I went to the Scottish Land rover show to help my brother in law at his auto jumble stall. Box van parked next to him was selling defender parts, all the same colour. It looked like 3 complete shells. They sold like hot cakes. Brother in law asked where the Irish gentleman got the vehicles. He said insurance write off auctions, flood damage auctions. 5 defenders got stolen from the show car park. Following year defenders had their own parking area with additional security including owners having cloakroom tickets that they had to present to security before leaving. 2 defenders got taken from the normal Carpark and one from the show display area. The show only lasted 3 years before being cancelled. Talking to one guy who had his 110, locked, clamped, pedal box, alarmed and tracker fitted parked behind locked drive way gates. Came home to see the 110 gone. Checked his cameras. Hiab draws up and lifted it straight onto flat bed and drove away., alarm screaming. Called the police. "It'll either be in pieces on ebay or halfway to Romania by now and that's why the tracker isn't working".
The new thing is to clean underside of cars with some sort of laser gun or dry ice technology. Is that something you would be interested in to try or invest in for the rust cleaning in the future? Fun content! Thanks
sorry to hear about things getting stolen, thieves are the scum of the world and deserve everything bad they get thrown at them, that aside, how did y'all get into this hobby/industry? as someone who loves working on mechanical things doing what yall do would be a dream that i cant afford but im curious what yalls story is that got yall to this point, cheers from Oklahoma
What a shame to hear! The front doors on the landy could be protected with Bombproof hinge guards. Along with the deadlocks they should struggle to get them off.
A bit late to the party, but anyway. You can add a plate at each hinge*, attached internally, using the door side hinge bolts, which will stop the door from being pulled outwards. Even with the hinge bolts removed from the wing / bulkhead side, the door will not come off, and can't be removed without the door open. (Upgrade bolts, 316 stainless, internal locking nuts) They can cut the hinge in 2, it won't open. (*on a 2a anyway, no trim in them)
This really is turning into "four tank men and a dog" 😂 Your right about plod, they are absolutely useless these days! Scared of their own shadows! 😮 Regarding a bigger engine in the landy, you can fit a Cummins in there. 😉
Either the Jag or Cummins engines from a CVR(T) will go in a Defender if you happen to have one sitting around, or if you want to make waves a series on a Duramax swap would be nice.
Sickening mate! As you said it’s the tools you collect over the years and some might be irreplaceable! Should of painted it in the same camo as that invisible electric box thing 😂😂
All my heart is with you mate, I've had my tools cleaned out twice, second time it happened i was sat on the curb crying my eyes out, my neighbours all came out having a look and found my hand tools chucked between some garages so at least i could go to work. the police are a waste of space i cant build houses with a blumin crime number.
Some years ago, my work van got broken into outside a chemist. The chemist told me who did it because they literally saw it happen , as I was walking back around to it, the police station was across the road from all this. I went over and told them what happened and who did it, and I got the same type of reply . They eventually lifted him, and he got 20 hours of community service to do . I lost my Sat nav ipod and mobile. And a window put through .
Doors are probably coming to Canada. They sell these trucks for aboot 50-100 thousand dollars. A Chevy 4.3 litre or 292 cid make excellent conversion engines for Landy's.
Good old Landie!! I have an old 90 with a later 300Tdi engine out of a Disco in it. I have it dry stored currently but after five years just standing it fired up and ran straight away as soon as I took the battery charger off it. I wish i had the time to get it mot'd and on the road again!
similar thing hapened to a mate of mine, awoke one morning to find a transit shaped hole where his van should have been, on a hunch he went to where a group were "camped up" for the night, there was his van. rang plod how do you know it,s your van ? it,s sign writen you may have sold it to them he managed to catch a plodwagon on it,s way to the donut shop, they were not interested in helping so he had to threaten the cops with a beating before they called for backup and arrested them. they do seem to be pretty useless unless it,s something they can deal with without leaving the comfort of their canteen / office.
I feel for the loss of your tools etc. My dad had his mobile workshop stolen from on-site in broad daylight believe it or not. He was under a lorry carrying out repairs when they took it. The culprit can easily be identified on the CCTV but the wonderful police service did not want to know. The vehicle was found the following day, completely stripped and burnt out, directly outside a Pikey camp. Again, the police refused to attend. I used to have a great deal of respect for the police, but not now. Makes my blood boil even thinking about it.
i saw a mercedes 180 engine in the back of a VW beetle once... some extra bodywork was added, so you can actually fit anything to anything with a bit of thrudging!
I love the old Landrovers, sat my licence in one, and have owned a heap of them over the years. The last one was a Defender that had a Nissan LD28 Diesel replacement for the V8 that they come out with, and that worked brilliantly
Our council tax went up recently, the section with by far the highest increase was the police department at 5.4%. They justified the expense in a glossy brochure. I hardly see police in my area so what do they actually do? When travelling I see a few in Discovery's and BMW X5's, so I guess that's where the money goes. It can't surely be wages and pensions.
The police are a security force for the rich and a revinue raising service for the government, useless. Last vehicle I had pinched they actually found, 5 mins from my home, totally undamaged, they didn't bother to tell me or my insurance and the first I knew was when a letter arrived 4 months later asking for money to cover storage at a police compound. I've needed the police a lot in my job, they don't turn up, it's that simple, people think dialing 999 results in a car arriving, it doesn't. Remember, they found Wayne Rooney's Rolex in Manchester, that made front page news though. As a Defender owner I feel for you, really do, hope the scum get caught.
There are very few 'rich' people these days and I can assure you the police are equal opportunity wasters. You could be Lord Snot himself and he would get the same crap treatment.
Feel for ya mate. Best way to deal with c~~Ts like that is to shoot them ‘.. had it done to me a few years back . I’ll never be able to afford to replace the tools either . . On a plus I love your videos . 👍🏻😎
Must be in one of those slack counties, a cousin in Cornwall had his mechanics work vehicle broken into and they were round within 10 minutes of the call and got socos in. Mind you they had a run on vehicles breaks and thefts from out of area thieves and were running an op. Oh and he replaces all the accessible door bolts with anti theft head bolts.
I was hit by an uninsured driver, the Police eventually turned up after an hour (because they had no choice as the road was now blocked by bits of car). The two occupants of the other car ran off, but were both filmed by someone, but even though the car had a marker on the database for criminal activity the Police still couldn't be bothered to put any effort in to tracking down the driver and passenger. They would have had fingerprint evidence, DNA evidence and the clear videos of them both escaping, but nah.
Our local LR Specialist (we MOT their customers vehicles for them) had the owners personal Range Rover (a 2020 top spec model) stolen out of his yard in broad daylight while the business was open. They (the owner) tracked his RR down to a warehouse in Tottenham (from Hatfield, Hertfordshire) where the Scumbags had removed the tracker (which LR in their wisdom PUT IN THE SAME PLACE ON EVERY VEHICLE(!!!!! 🤦🤦🤦🤦) and broke it up. They actually found his car in bits in a 40 tonner on its way to Birmingham. Needless to say he didn't want the bits back so he could rebuild (being a LR Specialist!!) so got paid out by the insurance company his business uses. End of the story his policy is astronomical now and I'm not sure that wasn't the first time either he'd had a car nicked!! You could fit a BMW M57 in those TD5 era Defenders check out Juiced Motors' channel as they've done a few conversions on 110's and 90's.
Sorry to hear you got robbed. Sorry to hear the police weren't interested. Say the robbers called you names online, you would get 8 cop cars around to you then.
They're more concerned in looking for 'hate crime' online, and stopping people on ebikes. Soft and easy lazy policing. Sorry to hear about the theft. Keep your pecker up...
The only way to get a police response is to hurt someone's feelings online. Then they will send 12 officers around within minutes.

@@formhubfar Nope. They're employed by the police.
And if you tie up the thieves and beat them a little bit all of the sudden you're the bad guy... pffffff
I've had items stolen and I got more sympathy from my cat that I did from the police. I even had a picture of the thief on CCTV and the police still were not interested. 🙄
It’s so aggravating
@@MrHewesThe police exist to protect the gangs from good people. Act accordingly.
I'll be damned y'all got napa there
It’s only a crime if you leave a witness.
I know some one who did that. Immediate response.
I feel your pain buddy, having your tools lifted by some worthless scrote is a kick in the guts,
I'd love a job like that fixing up old tanks etc. To their former glory. Awesome stuff guys 👍😎🤘
really feel for you Jo - a number of years back i had a load of tools pinched out my Land Rover too, was only a rag top, and the tools were neatly in the back, in a padlocked large ammo box bolted to the floor, they got in and spent several minutes i guess breaking in, passing tools to someone outside and making off with them, no damage done to the vehicle as the rag tops are easy peasy, i always hope they will hurt themselves in doing these things, which makes me think to set some kind of booby trap, a large spike for them to sit on (make 'em think twice) or electric shock, discharge an entire battery into them so they end up black and charred, might not be allowed
i had close connections with a Landy dealership, the thieves learnt to short the alarms by unscrewing an indicator, stick in a penny and break in, all you'd get was a single beep and nothing else as it shorted out, they then pinched several Landy's from behind the dealership, neatly drove across several gardens between fence posts and away they went - probably destined for a few containers somewhere stripped down for parts and off abroad - Landy's have always been a car to nick and Land Rover have done so little to make them idiot proof (think i might patent the spike in the seat idea, hmmm, i can see a slight issue though)
that always makes me niffed when a copper asks what you want them to do, well to be honest i have no idea, perhaps stay in your office out the rain, have a tea and some biscuits, get fat and perhaps have your self a nice heart attack, useless bunch of good for nothing, to be honest they are well past their best and none of them appear to be able to do the job they were tasked for, to protect persons and property, complete waste of space and i second the thoughts to breakup the Met Police, here here
and lets face it, sadly most coppers are human, most have probably been in the Services, come out and the only suitable job for them is the old bill, good at pushing pens about, driving round in fast cars and terrorising the natives, as for the other end of the job once a murderer kills a 17yo girlfriend, gets 12 years and eligible for parole after 6 or so, utter madness
when it comes to fingerprinting, or finding video footage, or even collecting that footage, its way too much work, no resources for any of that, get a crime number so you can make a claim on insurance and then pay through the nose when you renew, basically don't tell insurance because they will sting your ass - i had an insurance company wanted to sting me £600
guess what i said?
I had a truck stolen I can totally agree with your opinion on the police's response
Oh the joys of needle gunning armoured vehicles ! I have spent countless hours doing that. For some reason it causes the other people to evacuate the workshop. A real bummer about the loss of your tools.😀🇬🇧
I think you should have taken the problem in to your own hands and chased them with one of the AFVs 😂
I reckon the armored land rover you've just gotten will be a much more formidable vehicle against thieves
In the end, it's still a land rover. You could break in with a bloody tea spoon.
There are some low lives in this world, and no surprises the cops didn't help. Sorry for your loss.
Police won't do shit, be better off finding the local hell's angels members and asking them to track them down. That isn't a joke either.
Kudos to those guys for being able to undo Defender door hinge bolts. Usually they're so corroded they just strip out.. Real mechanical skill..
I also love that you guys have full blown convos inside the tank..like it's never left service lol
I’m not anti police I wanted to do everything to help but my efforts were wasted
@@MrHewes If you're not anti-police there's something wrong with you - they have proven time and again they don't work for us.

I am so thankful I live in a country where I can defend my property. Sorry for your losses, that’s just….frustrating to say the least.
Ah yes, the same country that has seen more than 180 mass shootings in 2023 up until May vs 1 in the UK... Gotta be thankful for those gun laws!
The only way to get police to do something is tell them ur on ur way to batter the robbers
Funny you should say that.
The insurance company took him to court and recovered costs, but it still makes me 😡
i feel your pain , had 5k worth of snap-on taken from a van, police had crystal clear film of the filth , they were in a cloned van. great channel mate
that really sucks man . i hope the police do something. if it was there doors and guns robbed it be a lot different
I always wore an N95 mask when paint chipping on ships as there’s lot of lead oxide in old ship paint. No idea if MoD tank paint is the same.
1:59 I thought my third world ******** was one of a kind. But after hearing your story I have to re-consider.
The new thing is to clean underside of cars with some sort of laser gun or dry ice technology. Is that something you would be interested in to try or invest in for the rust cleaning in the future? Fun content! Thanks
sorry to hear about things getting stolen, thieves are the scum of the world and deserve everything bad they get thrown at them, that aside, how did y'all get into this hobby/industry? as someone who loves working on mechanical things doing what yall do would be a dream that i cant afford but im curious what yalls story is that got yall to this point, cheers from Oklahoma
so sorry to hear that I'd be devisteated too ..I have a series 3 and I've got a pedal box lock on it but the doors don't lock
What a shame to hear! The front doors on the landy could be protected with Bombproof hinge guards. Along with the deadlocks they should struggle to get them off.
Tell the Old bill they stole your donuts. They will be there before you hang up. 🍩 😂
A bit late to the party, but anyway. You can add a plate at each hinge*,
attached internally, using the door side hinge bolts, which will stop the
door from being pulled outwards. Even with the hinge bolts removed from
the wing / bulkhead side, the door will not come off, and can't be removed
without the door open. (Upgrade bolts, 316 stainless, internal locking nuts)
They can cut the hinge in 2, it won't open. (*on a 2a anyway, no trim in them)
This really is turning into "four tank men and a dog" 😂
Your right about plod, they are absolutely useless these days! Scared of their own shadows! 😮
Regarding a bigger engine in the landy, you can fit a Cummins in there.
You guys do beautiful work!
What do you do when the Police can't be arsed? Baseball bats or maybe volunteers from the local rugby team.
Time to take the law in to your own hands sir
So easy to get into a Land Rover, all you need is one of the pie keys
Sadly a toddler with a screwdriver could open a landy 🙁
All my heart is with you mate, I've had my tools cleaned out twice, second time it happened i was sat on the curb crying my eyes out, my neighbours all came out having a look and found my hand tools chucked between some garages so at least i could go to work. the police are a waste of space i cant build houses with a blumin crime number.
What you should have done was tell the police that someone was praying on the sidewalk at that location
Weren’t you tempted to take a Centurion around to the location of the stolen Ranger?
Very
Doors are probably coming to Canada.
I wish i had the time to get it mot'd and on the road again!

he managed to catch a plodwagon on it,s way to the donut shop, they were not interested in helping so he had to threaten the cops with a beating before they called for backup and arrested them.
they do seem to be pretty useless unless it,s something they can deal with without leaving the comfort of their canteen / office.
I wish you’d been able to rock up to the location of the Ford Ranger in a Chieftain and extract (or flatten) revenge, without consequences.
i saw a mercedes 180 engine in the back of a VW beetle once... some extra bodywork was added, so you can actually fit anything to anything with a bit of thrudging!
I love the old Landrovers, sat my licence in one, and have owned a heap of them over the years. The last one was a Defender that had a Nissan LD28 Diesel replacement for the V8 that they come out with, and that worked brilliantly

@@MrHewes couple of comment's below mine
Our council tax went up recently, the section with by far the highest increase was the police department at 5.4%. They justified the expense in a glossy brochure. I hardly see police in my area so what do they actually do? When travelling I see a few in Discovery's and BMW X5's, so I guess that's where the money goes. It can't surely be wages and pensions.
The guy that had the ranger stolen should have told cops he was going to shoot the theives See how many units they would have on scene then
The police are a security force for the rich and a revinue raising service for the government, useless.
So sorry to hear about your landrover and tools. Shame on the Police.
Same story when my tools were stolen from my Defender. The police gave me a crime number.
Same happened to me in the 80s. Insurance paid for it all. The hard part was finding all the tools to replace them.
My heart got warmer when she fired up like she was singing a tune only yesterday.....good old units these
Feel for ya mate.
Great video and Ted was on top form, keeping an eye on you all in the tank 😂❤
I was hit by an uninsured driver, the Police eventually turned up after an hour (because they had no choice as the road was now blocked by bits of car). The two occupants of the other car ran off, but were both filmed by someone, but even though the car had a marker on the database for criminal activity the Police still couldn't be bothered to put any effort in to tracking down the driver and passenger. They would have had fingerprint evidence, DNA evidence and the clear videos of them both escaping, but nah.
Mate gutted for you but the banter is on par
Sorry to hear about your trouble with td5 and police, it's same up here.
I loved my TD5, 240hp and it pulled like fuck. It did like to eat clutches though!
They're more concerned in looking for 'hate crime' online, and stopping people on ebikes. Soft and easy lazy policing. Sorry to hear about the theft. Keep your pecker up...
Just say
"Ok, Mr Policeman. If you're not going round to investigate the tracked vehicle I'm gonna pop along with 3 carloads of lads"
Sad about your L/Rover. Suggestion ; Lend me that Centurion and I'll take it to recover that tracked L/Rover.
