    It is interesting to see the progress of Kliment Kolesnikov of Russia. Recently, the backstroke specialist also took part in freestyle with impressive result : 47.31 and 47.37 which are the 1st and 2nd best time this year ahead of Dressel's time. While Kyle Chalmers set 47.59. The newcomer from Italy, Alesandro Miressi has 47.45 and 47.53
    So, my eyes will be on these four swimmers next month in Tokyo.

    USA will have a fierce competition with Russia in 4×100m freestyle relay at Tokyo Olympic next month.
    This year, Russia have a very strong team :
    1. Klement Kolesnikov : 47.31, 47.37 ahead of Dressel's best time this year (47.39)
    2. Andrei Minakov : 47.74
    3. Vladislav Grinev : 47.85
    4. Vladimir Morozov : 48.00
    I am not sure about the 4th best time in USA, i.e Bowen Becker who has 48.22.
    When did the last time Russia take the gold medal in this relay ? I think this is the best chance for them. France and Australia are not impressive this year.

    • @lexsoft3969
      @lexsoft3969 Před 3 lety +1

      Which team they should be aware of : GBR, Russia, Australia ?
      We know GBR are weak in backstroke, while Russia are currently very strong in bacstroke. Russia have 2 best backstrokers : Evgeny Rilov and Kliment Kolesnikov. But seeing an impressive achievement of Kolesnikov in freestyle (47.31 and 47.37) this year, Russia will place this young man as an anchor.
      USA should have a solid margin in butterfly, because James Guy of GBR has better time than Tom Shields, while Russia currently lack of good butterflier. Imo, Michael Andrew can be one of the key in breasstroke : his best time of 58.14 should be enough to take lead ahead of Anton Chupkov of Russia. If Adam Peaty of GBR takes lead, the gap won't be large.
      Then, in butterfly, Dressel should make a solid margin, in order for Zach Apple can maintain the lead away from his chasers : Kliment Kolesnikov of Russia, Kyle Chalmers of Australia, Duncan Scott of GBR and probably Alessandro Marresi of Italy.

      @@lexsoft3969 who told you Britain don't have good backstroker this time , go and watch out for Luke Greenbank. He is constantly improving in both 100 and 200 back . This time gbr wins gold in medley. USA can fight for other medals . Team of Peaty-Greenbank-Guy-Scott looking formidable.

    • @lexsoft3969
      @lexsoft3969 Před 3 lety

      @@mstk1803 I know, but Luke Greenbank's mid 53 in 100m is not really a serious threat, although he can improve. It depends on Ryan Murphy too. If the American backstroker performed like at WC 2019 with his terrible 52.93, then USA will get trouble.
