Papov🇷🇺💪💪💪
Bravo
Insane that they were swimming 21 in 50 free with no revolutionized start and no tech suits in just basic briefs.
that’s what i was thinking about. imagine if they were evolved with the new technique, suits and other things now!
I mean if they took off their briefs they could shave more time 🤷♂️
@@ShowtimeSammy_ not really. That’s extra drag, while a brief is more streamlined
Actually, from 21secs to under 21, it will take forever (figuratively), timings tends to get low exponentially, so it won't be a big difference like from 21 secs they will go to 19 or something, in 50m they can lower 21.9 to 21.5 or 21.45 types which in itself is a big big improvement, so timing in 50m from 1980s would have been in 21s only.
@@ShowtimeSammy_ 😂 no they’d actually be slower. The suit if made correctly should repel water.
can we acknowledge Manaudou's amazing consistency : 3 podiums over 3 olympics !
Why was he swimming very near to Dressel's lane in 2020?
@@emr392 so he could swim on the wave of Dressel
@@emr392 basically go faster, to reduce drag, it seems he already knew he was going to be slower, he tried to at least win a medal
The way the start and underwaters have evolved over this span is crazy.
The platform where they dive in from is changed too, allowing for one foot in front of another type of start.
Ikr they had really short underwater and did flutter kick instead of dolphin
Anthony Ervin: Wins gold in 2000 at age 19. Retires in 2003 at age 22. Sells gold medal on eBay and joins a band. Starts training again in 2011. Wins gold AGAIN in 2016 at age 35. The oldest individual gold medallist in Olympic swimming history. What a story... GOAT?
One of the GOAT for sure, too hard to argue who's the best across generations with no proper variables to compare and why to compare in the first place, but no one will argue that he is one of the GOATs (I know sounds stupid to say one of the GOAT), I guess you get me.
@@sarthakbhalerao1045 Totally agree. You can only really say who was the best at that given time. But to win it twice 16 years apart is unbelievable, irrespective of times. PS. He was also the first US citizen of African descent to win an individual gold in the pool.
life rewarded him with new gold for his kindness and generosity
inspirational, a real story that guy lived. mike bottom said he’d never seen anyone with a feel of the water like tony makes you think if there was more to be untapped but a specimen like caeleb will just tell him to hold his beer i was screaming in my tv in 2016 when he did this incredible
Looool
1988 : Matt Biondi

Most people can read primate
Thank you
2024?:))
The fact that Anthony Ervin won the game 2 times after 16 years is just crazy! Remember that it is a super sprint distance, not an endurance game that might grow up when you're aging.
A true living legend!
Like Santos now
Popov is probably the GOAT sprinter. Only guy to defend both the 50 and 100 free back to back games
popov is a odd one, he was swimming the popov freestyle, that is very hard to learn.
Just going back to back on the 100 free already puts you in a legendary category. Doing it on boths 50 and 100 is insane. I think he is probably the GOAT sprinter.
@@verward i feel like dressel might do this aswell at paris
fratus finally winning a medal is the best moment in the whole video!
Caeleb dressel really has revolutionized the start. Wouldn’t be surprised if nearly all the competitors next year are trying to mimic it.
Tandy has a better start
@@swimfan752 but Dressel has a better underwater and breakout portion. He carries the momentum of his start better.
Yeah it's crazy he was already one meter in front of other swimmers in an Olympic finals
Dressel was great in 2021 but seeing fratus finally medal was a highlight of the games.
Yeah he’d been trying for years!
It look like in 1992 they are swimming like 12yo. But yet they are 22sec. That is mindblowing.
I miss the announcer from the Sydney, Athens and Beijing days. So nostalgic.
He does the south Australian state championships now
Name?
Alexander Popov, technically one of the best i have ever seen... Greetings from Germany, But there were so many great swimmers out there. It motivates me every time to swim, to see all these champions!
Definitely on drugs all Russia swimmer
Cesar Cielo was a great Olympic swimmer and a great example for all swimmers
What? He was a cheat and always crying
@@guillaumemartin9295 Crying?
If you want to become a cheater he is indeed a great example
@@valerio1292 how did he cheat?
@@guillaumemartin9295 yes crying of emotion
Manaudou 3 finals and 3 times in the top2, crazy !!! legend !!!!
9:31 Brad Tandy’s start 😳
Probably only guy with a better start than Dressel
All I saw A Happy Fratus❤️
This is so cool to watch.
Kind of funny, I have Matt Biondi's autograph in my photo album from when I was swimming in Nationals in the Netherlands in 1988.
Popov beat everybody in both 50 and 100 in 92 and 96. Without suit and cap!
Cesar Ciello monstro do Brasil.
Cesar Cielo drug cheat

Crazy to see that the Beijing final featured 8 finalists that had times that would have won gold in Athens only 4 years before…
Supersuit
Super super Dirisimo!
It’s not that crazy. Super suit year
Supersuit.
Incredible athletes.
Salute to the day and night practice of all great athletes out there.😊😊
Dressel unbelivable!
Caeleb!!! Ooh, baby, baby!
Dressel is a beast!!
Perfect video. Thank you.
World number 1 hard exercise❤❤
EXELENTEEEEEEEE resumen !!! Gracias....
this is really fine to watch!
21's in briefs is insane
Can't believe Ervin can win gold again in his age and between Manaudou and Adrian.
Manaudou incredible regularity
What a high level of those elites really great performance ,
But we all know that if you don't working hard , you'll never be Olympic champion
Respect to them all and hard luck to our champion 🇩🇿
Best sport ever
I don’t know who you are, but thank you for this video!
nice edit 👏👏👏👏
That was crazy! So close.
The back of the block push plates (dont know what to call them) are like a cheat code in gaming.
it’s incredible how athens 21.9 to beijing 21.3 suit assisted times happened but then the bar was set and london it was 21.3. human nature is incredible suits just gave room to go even faster.
and caleb just says… hold my beer
You have a great name.
manaudou, marchand, grousset... FRENCH TEAM 💪💪💪
curious how fast biondi would be with modern training and techniques. dude was a freak - 6'5" with arms like whale flippers.
Him and popov with modern training and equipment would be insanely fast
Your video is phenomenal!i hope the million vue this year cause we can see the évolution of the 50 freestyle .hope to see for the other stroke (i love the 400im but the videos will last 2 hours 🤣🤣 ) thanks a lot for this great content!!salim from paris
400m IM is stoped with M.P...:D If anyone breake this unreal suits record, maybe after 20 years..:D
@@radoslavgoc5345 I reckon Leon Marchand is gonna do it, he's gotten really close to Phelps' time at worlds
Dressel turned a 22 at the 50m mark. Blazing
David Popovici will be the 🐐!
Jagr and Popov are still the fastest pure sprint swimmers of all time, IMHO. Put a tech suit on them, give them hydro caps and goggles, give them the backstop on the block, teach them to dolphin kick to the surface on the start and their speed would have been insane.
Biondi is a legend
Nonsense just a swimmer
Micheal phelps in parallel universe or wot👁
Biondi was built different.
it's crazy to see how much faster it got once they started adding underwaters
Bruno Fratus 🥉
GARY HALL IS THE BULLY OF ALL MOVIES JAJAJAJAJA
Popov , Goat 50 m freestyle
50 m! Yahoo.
everyone evolved to the staggered start instead of the 2 feet in front
Nice .. Big Like
Supersuit era was crazy.
It's basically like shoe technology in running sports.
Still, kinda glad they removed them.
Next video with 1500m pls 😄
Next : men's 100m butterfly
Starting with how Matt Biondi got caught by Anthony Nesti of Suriname in the last stroke.
Popov my favourite ever
Ervin the Goat fr
What year is this???
Can Dressel beat Cielo WR 50 free? If someone deserve it is him. Great swimmer.
1:18 I miss the days when they used tiles on the blocks.
I’m a new swimmer and i really am looking forward to being the state champion i think i have potential
If you put your mind to it and train hard, anything is possible! 💪
It is interesting how black men generally dominate Running events, however there are very few who reach finals in Swimming
NINETEEN POINT he didn’t even flinch…
Of all the medalists, anthony ervin in my opinion was the most unlikely gold medalist
8:07 clear dsq for Cesar Cielo
I just wish it would be with commentary and not random music.
Manaudou Gold Silver Silver 🏆🇫🇷
Beijing 2008, that’s when the world was calm. US and China were friends, CZcams and facebook were still allowed in China, US allowed Chinese tech companies
Where is Phelps?
It means 22 seconds 50 meters cut means a second for every two meters and twenty-seven centimeters🤔🤔
Where is micheal Phelps ☹️
Cielo wr is 20.91 what a record he made is😮
But how much longer will it last?...
@@OlympicsAquatics might be 20 years later it will be go on
Cielo The Best!
👏👏👏👏💪🇵🇪♥️🇵🇪♥️🇵🇪
Tom Jager 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
In the Sydney 2000 50 free, what if that one guy wore a tech suit and put a cap on
Só muda a piscina. O tempo é a mesma coisa kkkkkkk
And the world record still belongs to Cesar Cielo 😮
in a special swimsuit, it wasnt fair and will never be a fair record
All swimmers at the time used the suit! Sorry, not a valid excuse!
Names of all songs
Results of 2000?
Ok now do every 1500 final
Vladimir Salnikov, Kierren Perkins, Grant Hacket, Oussama Mellouli, Sun Yang, Robert Finke
