Hello - thanks for getting in touch! We've had a word with Lloyd who just wants to reassure you that he inspects Tilly's feet very closely and very often - and that they have a weekly clean too. On the day of the shoot they were just a little dirty on the underside after she had a poo in her travel box on the way to the studio…
It's so majestic.
As a falconer who is has the privilege to work with raptors, this again shows me how incredible these birds really are. Thanks for showing me the unseen. I especially enjoyed the close ups of the feet.
Tilly's feathers are incredibly stiff and strong, and tricky for a human to bend - which shows how much power she's producing in flight! A golden eagle does lose feathers through moulting though - they drop their primary feathers in sequence and then re-grow them. When that happens their flight is a little less efficient, but they aren't grounded.
The wings of birds can be roughly divided into two types: soaring and flapping. The soaring birds, like eagles, condors, etc. have wings that end in finger-like feathers for lift. Flapping birds like falcons have wings that end in a point for more precise maneuvering.
This eagle is just gorgeous!
It flies so smooth and graceful
Primary feathers don't generate thrust, they assist with thrust
The complexity combined with the beauty of this thing is just amazing, nature never disappoints its wonder seekers
would be cool to have a large raptor fly thru some thin streams of some kind of smoke; to see how the air is effected by her wings, as long as it would bot be harmful to the bird.
Tilly is absolutely gorgeous, a complete showstopper.
I volunteer at a birds of prey centre, and we have a Golden x Steppe eagle called Saxon. Such a beautiful animal.
BosleyBozzer o0o luckyyyyyyyyy
Astounding! I showed it to my classroom of elementary kids, whoa!
Jeez those are daggers for claws. Awe inspiring
No problem at all! And thanks for watching.
We did some of our earlier shoots on white, but when we started filming birds we moved onto black as it gave us much more opportunity to work with lighting. We also wanted to get a shot of some of the birds, particularly top predators Tilly and Ellie (the goshawk), appearing in shot almost from nowhere… much as they might do if they were hunting their prey.
this was beautiful, thank you.
Si says it was pretty awesome just to hold her... check out @EarthUnplugged on Twitter for a photo of them. All in a day's work!
White background next time please? Too dark, black background and dark brown bird.
It's because of exposure i think.
She's Beautiful.
And I think that was a really good decision. I loved the eagles expression and facial structure at the beginning of the video. When he was just head on staring into the camera. Gorgeous.
STUNNING.
Uh, and the music is by? No one has asked that? I'm in awe. Awesome video all around.
Nature, there is nothing as beautiful and wondrous as though art! So much to learn by watching you....peacefully.
That was like a poem!
What a majestic creation
The best videos on the internet for studying movement. PLEASE DONT STOP!
absolutely beautiful
it is impossible for things in nature not to look aesthetically pleasing. they are forever pleasing to the eye. literally. they could be pooping or in a weird position or dead for all i know and they would still look naturally good
Beautiful.
absolutely glorious, and breathe taking
He's so calm! He's just a beautiful bird!

Looking at this I am wondering how beautiful Angels would be...

So beautiful that makes me cry.
For this one we shot at 2,500 FPS throughout, but we've gone up to 5,000 in a previous video (check out Ellie the goshawk hunting water balloons!)

Simply magnificent.
Magnificent creature!. Well done guy, thanks.
Thankyou so much for making this video. Really beautiful, artsy and incredible...the creature is so majestic..
Beautiful! I love the slow-mo.
Stunning vidio footage and Golden Eagle...
Winglets, which you guys were referring to as saving fuel on airliners, act to reduce vortex drag which is formed as high pressure air underneath the wing curls around the wingtip to meet the low pressure air, dissipating energy as it forms pair of trailing vortices.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful bird
Thx guys, great work. The bird does make a beautiful model though, so surely does deserve a lot of the praise too. Which is a testament to the owner/trainer.
When the feathers ripple with airflow across them, I can almost see the air, and understand why this bird is supreme hunter. 180MPH+ in stoops, that's almost peregrine territory yet much larger. Golden Eagle 12-15lb hitting anything at that speed with huge claws that can crush with force of dog bite, blows me away. Like a sledgehammer with claws lol.
simply awesome
Golden eagles are very beautiful birds! Amazing.
Absolutely Amazing! Loving it!
Amazing!
That first shot man.. awesome!

Slow-motion freedom
The Golden Eagle has soared since the dawn of time and while tribes turned into nations there was little wonder why so many countrys chose to embrace its magesty. The Eagle stands alone as a symbol of power and after watching this astonishing video there is little wonder why
We use a Photron BC2 on our Slo Mo shoots.
The Bird God!
00:18 what a prestige !
What is the name of the music playing 4:07
what a beautiful girl. She is quite a specimen.
I'm guessing it's a "best kept secret" in this fresh new video. I like it too, it has nice, deep orchestral sound to it. The style reminds me of this: Hans Zimmer- Time (Karanda Remix).
JUST .. WOW :O
Lindo demais parabens. Grande abraço Brasil
