So humbled now! 😁 And thanks Charles for choosing me to win this. Epic bass battle now.? 😏😏😏 haha.

You really killed it. Enjoyed that solo
Wow, I don't even know how you'd pick a winner on this. All were incredible.
It was really tough 😬
To hell with Georgia. 🐝
Lol cool to see a possible Fellow Georgian…
Dan, I could only make your comment for sportsmanship sake. I feel like Daniel was a clear and concise winner on almost every metric. The rest were a good fight, but I don’t even know if i will ever even forget Daniel’s little feature in a random youtube video.
OMG!!! thank u Charles!! (I'm the emimen guy)
congratulations to the winners, you deserve it, especially daniel u did an amazing job :)
I'm already super super happy to have been featured :))))))
Thanks for the great solo! Hope you're not offended by the Eminem comparison 🤣

Absolutely. The musicians battling Charles are amazing. My favorites were Colin Sankey and Daniel Rey. Colin with the groove, Daniel with insane technique.
Well done everyone! All the battles sounded awesome 🤩👏👏👏
U r the greatest guitar player ever
We need other collab between you twooo
Thrilled to be included along with so many amazing players! Thanks, Charles!
You definitely would win best name.
Thanks for another original and awesome solo!
I literally cheered out loud when I saw you, a Charles battle video is nowhere near complete without your appearance!

That was Just Awesome.
It was so fun to be a part of this contest. Congrats to Daniel definetly deserved it. I'll be waiting for more challenges in the future!

I thought yours was the best Pier great job. You always put out great stuff thanks for your dedication its inspiring.
I thought you were #1, also. Your playing is always PRO level in all of the collabs and challenges!
I liked your playing the most! 😊👍
You were great 😘
I really enjoyed your playing, congrats !!!!
Thank you so much Charles! 😊 It was a great experience. I wasn't expecting to be featured in your video after I saw the high level of some of the participants. Thanks! 🙏💥🤘

Wow seriously I didn't expect even to appear among the 12 haha, seriously thank you sooo much Charles, it has been an honor and I take this gift as a great motivation to continue learning about this great instrument 😁🙌
Thanks for the awesome solo!!
Wow, it's nice to be in the video and hear your musicsl perception! Thank you, it was so exciting and fun!
By the way, I got a lot of feedback about the combination of tapping and piano🎸🎹 a lot of people ask me to collaborate with you in some way! :)
I would also like to congratulate the winners, it is an amazing combination of technique and musicality🎵
Thanks for the video, it was really original! And yeah, bass tapping + piano can sound really beautiful together as you demonstrated 👌🏻
It blew most of us away
I absolutely loved your entry, great job!
actually yes...your entry was the most smooth and musicial. loved it
This was next level I loved it
The piano piece should get a collaboration as a price. That was beautiful. The nr 9 should get the bass in my opinion. All incredibly talented people.
Wow the talent here is beyond insane, everyone is amazing! Daniel Rey is simply on another level 🥵 Congrats!
All bass technique aside (because there was plenty of talent on display here), Daniel's choice of adding harmonics at the beginning, and then the bend into dissonance/subsequent resolution while he was mean-mugging at 7:12 sealed it for me. Both musically brilliant and comically appropriate. Congrats to all!
Thank you Charles, always a pleasure to partecipate these contests! Happy holidays 🎁🙏💯
Thanks for your awesome solo!! 🔥
Definitly my favorite by far!
You were my favorite, Enrico! Keep up the good work!
@@NoobieSnake super thx 😍
Enrico, you're due, brother, top 10 just isn't enough anymore, you WILL one of these shortly, too good not to. Another fantastic entry, thanks for sharing your talent, and you're very supportive of the others, which is very cool.
Everyone was great. Daniel killed it. But I need to hear a collab with you and Aink. Her piano juxtaposition to the bass was phenomenal
All of them were absolutely mind-blowing! Loved that Piano one too!! heres a list since every one of them deserve to be heard multiple times :) hope it helps -

That piano piece was brilliant :) ... great performances by all contestants and ya, I totally agree with Charles on 1st place

i'd like to thank my mom for buying me these socks
On a more serious note, thanks for making this contest! It was fun to participate and share our music all together!
Congratulations to all the contestants! 🥳
Everyone did very cool.
The piano cleverly changed the original harmony by inserting the right root notes within the bass playing.
Congrats to everyone who was featured and to Daniel! You are all phenomenal musicians and should be extremely proud of yourselves! 👏 👏 👏
YUUSSS!!! Daniel Rey is a SAVAGE!!!
What's so good about this is not just all the talent on show, which was phenomenal, but that we have a resource like CZcams that lets players like this learn from one another. There's no short cut to talent and practice, but being able to see what others can do is a great way to give you the impetus to raise your game.
Congratulations to the winners and thanks for the opportunity, it was a great experience to be part of this challenge, I loved the support among all the musicians and I'm looking forward to other challenges in the future - definitely gonna join as well even though I'm not a bassist myself 😊
Oh my gosh! That was a masterclass in slap, tap, and harmonic sensibility. Every one of these folks deserve a prize
Wow! I'm so happy to have participated in this! The winners absolutely deserved and many of the people in this video (even non-winners) have received a sub from me. Good work, everyone :)
I love how Charles gives such positive feedback, and if any criticism is offered at all, it's positive. There was so much talent in this vid, but my top picks would've been...
1. Daniel Rey
2. Gabriel Alarcón
3. Aink
4. Colin Sankey / Pier Piras
Marco Zarco broke my brain for a second!
Ha! Achievement unlocked!
That sweep tapping of Daniels was impeccable. Fair winner of the challenge, but so many top quality entries.
Woooow! This is one hell of a battle. The standard is so high now. Everyone's music was top notch. Congratulations to Daniel. He had me off my seat.
as a guitarist I gotta say, these bass solos are amazing, that immense groove that just forces me to bop my head to the rhythm, great playing as always
Wow! Such talent!!!
But, man Aink, tasteful, supportive, beautifully musical.
That’s my winner.
Aink on piano was amazing…
thank you so much!
I'm surprised, EVERYONE who participated in this video were extraordinary bassists! Fu*king awesome! 🙏
I would have given piano lady a prize. Like some piano picks or something...
That piano player was absolutely incredible, soooo fun and musical
I would say, however good they are, you couldn't really name someone a winner if they're not actually playing an actual bass. Having said that, No8 Marco Zarco blew me away. I love how he translated the bass line to a midi wind instrument. And the sound was great. No9 Daniel Ray was amazing. Such a great range of technique and boy were those fingers fast. Just so you know, I wrote the previous comments before I watched you announce your winners list. Glad you agreed with my choice. Tough competition. That was a super talented bunch. Way beyond anything I can do, but I'm hoping to take leaps in the coming year.
Wow the piano in #4 was so awesome. 3:18
Thanks for doing this super fun contest and for including me in the video Charles! There were some ridiculously talented musicians and everyone sounded awesome! 🔥
You have incredible slap rythmic quality playing, I havent heard anything like this from years. All guys hear are not even close to that how you do slap rythm with cosmic sounding precision including our loved Charles :)
I am deeply shocked.
In Poland still lives bass giant Krzysztof Ścieranski, your slap rhytm is very simmiliar to his huge rythm slap building. If you have time it is good to explore that guy, for all I see you can be pretty close to his harmony feeling.
Few first examples :)

@@BoogieBMWE34 ah nice appreciate that dude thanks for the kinda words! I’ll check out the links you posted. 😊
@@JazMoss Hi Jaz, could you write me what equipment do you use for your sound ?
I can see Jazz Bass fully maple, is that right ? how about chorus and amp or other devices?
@@BoogieBMWE34 Yo! Yeah sure I was using my Fender Jazz Elite Bass & because I was on the road when I recorded this I didn't actually have my chorus pedal so I just used the chorus plugin within Logic pro X. And that was about it apart from a little bit of compression with the MXR bass compressor pedal. My bass was set passive and rolled a little bit towards the neck pickup for more of a fat P bass sound.I also boost around 350Hz as I find that's a great frequency to boost if you're trying to get the bass to stick out in the mix on small speakers (e.g phone speakers)
This was a RIDICULOUS battle and I loved every second of it. And the slap flute guy? My mind is absolutely blown!
Yay for Marco Zarco, he always looks cool and adds the unexpected.
Huge congrats to the people who won and also got featured! Winners defo deserved what they got!
Daniel’s sweeps are freaking nuts. What a beast.
he deserved it, that was an insane solo
Bro u didn’t even watch the whole video, the video came out 3 minutes ago lmao
@@mehhhh291 I went through the video and skipped some parts
I remember when bass players were referred to as being simply 'plonkers'. Now, they are utterly 'bonkers'.
Charles [and so many others] teaching us to go 'From Plonkers to Bonkers'. Hurrah!
Holy shit. All of these musicians == 🤯🤯🤯.
I really appreciate that you still make such good music in your videos, considering you've been a youtuber for long time!

I haven't seen a lot of bass players sweep before, that was awesome!!
Daniel Rey is from the bass universe. Christ alive his was B E A U T I F U L
Also just wanna say "6 string short scale piccolo bass" sent me into another dimension, you are hilarious on top of being an amazing bassist.
This is FANTASTIC - really well done to everyone who got involved. Charles, love your enthusiasm and to all the musicians - amazing. Love it.
Congrats to everyone who participated and got featured! I too also participated and that was my first Bass Guitar Video ever. Hope to do more battles like this in the future. :)
Listening to the Jaz Moss a few dozen times - he sounds 1) a real base, 2) really innovative, 3) like noone else, and 4) like a sound of a new dream band.
Charles, your community is absolutely amazing congratulations on having so many talented people follow you and your channel. I'm completely blown away at each and every one of them ❤️👍👍
Shoutout to Marco for playing better slap bass with a digital jam stick than I can with my bass!
Sometimes I can't believe how many talented players there are in the world! Congrats to all!
My favorite part of all these videos is that you all bring musicians of all different levels together from every corner of the world. You all support, encourage and compliment each other regardless of skill level. It's an awesome display of humanity at its finest. And the bonus is that we get to listen to some amazing music and get directed to some crazy cool music on ALL their channels. Keep it up all of you and hats off to you guys who spend countless hours arranging these collabs!
i like the singing sock puppets
Congrats to everyone that got featured or won! Thanks Charles for the experience!
I love channels like yours. It's always a push to get everyone to work harder at their instrument. Even when there are jokes involved, you guys who do channels like this encourage people to take on music and stick with it. You're doing an amazing thing. And, your original music is beautiful. Thanks for all you are doing!!!
I could just watch/listen to this for days and not get bored of that riff and variety of interpretations. Just amazing.
All of them are extremely gifted musicians. Congrats to all! If I have to pick, I really liked the musicality of Slap Kop and Pier Piras (largely based on their harmonic and melodic choices).
Marco Zarco is an actual legend and we should all kneel before him.
OMG! That made my year! We're all busting up at my house. But my wife just said "that's a little long to put on a t-shirt" ;-)
Really phenomenal stuff here, great contributions! Charles, your videos are inspirational and your generosity is remarkable. Not only are you rewarding players with merch, you are also providing a platform for them to be recognized and appreciated. Way to go. Also, CONGRATS on your recognition in the latest issue of Bass Player magazine. Nobody is more deserving. Keep up the great work!
Had a feeling you'd pick Daniel Rey for the top spot. Those sweeps and taps were amazing. I personally found your 4th pick, Aink as my favorite of the lot. She offered a complimentary layer, while changing the mood of the piece. Quite lovely.
Pier was absolute amazing!!
Daniel's comping is what really did it for me - crazy lines when he was soloing, but the bend/release and harmonics accompanying you were SO nice. Great stuff!
I really love the way than Pier Piras plays...
Pier Piras was my favorite, not even close. This guy's truly gifted.
3:18-3:48 You both should make a whole song like that. This sounds so lovely & beautiful
Totally agree! I would buy it in an instant!
Damn… you guys are all mad talented
Just awesome - everyone!! Thank you for sharing your amazing talent!! Loved every one!
All of these musicians kick major ass. This is some mighty fine chops!
6:40 *C h a r l e s*
On the serious note, everyone played extremely well, thanks for the great content!

What he did that no-one else really did except #3, was connect his 1st passage to his 2nd passage, without overplaying in Charles' section,
in a very tasteful way,
so it became his own piece, rather than just 2 unrelated responses.
😎👌
Hands down my favorite on musicality.
Great group of outstanding musicianship
5:30 it is cool how you harmonized his head swinging, here
Congratulations to Daniel and everyone who was featured! The level seems to be increasing every contest 😅. I'm a little sad to not have made it into the video, but I'm hopeful for next time!
You did amazing bro! I’m sad I didn’t make it either, but I’m sure there will be a next time.
Same bro! Im gonna try a bit harder next time too!
Suggestion: In the next give away competition, instead of giving the prizes to the best players, give them to new musicians who's just started learning and don't yet have a good instrument to practice on! Help out up and coming musicians.
Exactly my thoughts.
I actually did a separate video some months ago where I gave a bass to a 10-year old boy who wanted to learn. I'll be trying to do those fairly regularly in addition to these competitions.
This was top line musicianship, everywhere. It was whiplash inducing. Props to the pianist, though, I have to say. She fleshed out your composition in a way the rest simply couldn't. Still: zero complaints. Everyone was awesome.
Just wanted to say that I really appreciate how uplifting you are. You keep it humble despite your phenomenal level of skill, and you aren't afraid to say when someone can improve something but never tear anybody down.
It's nice to see. Just sayin.
This is epic, prize goes to everyone in the video fantastic musicians !
I loved Aink!
Thank you ^_^
@@AnnaGlaid You're very welcome! 🎹
Just incredible, absolutely loved every millisecond! My favourite moment was the pianist surprising herself with how insanely brilliant she is!
Wow mind blowing talented musicians. I enjoyed everyone’s playing. Amazing!!!
The hardest job must be having to chose between these absolute gods of Bass.
You could create a new Casiopeia with that pianist.
I love that you let other players better than yourself shine on your channel. Super creds to the good players out there.
Many thanks Charles for sharing not only your art but the art of other brilliant musicians too. This is art squared.
Love all of them 😀 Funny how Gabriel managed to include some fragments of two (at least that's how many I noticed after the first time 😅) of the "hardest bass solos ever" most of us have discovered you through ☺
1. He really moved in the grove you laid down's spirit
2. He sounded like he's a good mimic of others tech, i might've mistaken him for you
3. whoa, that panning tone
4. shades of Megalovania in the structure.
5. just straight solid work.
6. vid editing! nice post production fun (but you think he could've flipped the video back around?)
7. ooh nice idea on the 2nd part of the call and response
8. lol EWI for the win
9. was that harmonics at the beginning?
10. sweet futuro funk tone
11. sounded a bit behind the pocket, but nice melody ideas
12. just clean
I thought 6 was playing left handed lol
I'm right-handed, who's left-handed is my camera hahaha, Idk why it always records with a mirror effect
Picking a winner here is impossible. Absolutely awesome.
My ears just exploded!!! All of you guys are some bass monsters👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
I’m so glad the socks were included! Best Sock Opera award for sure.
Cara...
Só músico bom. Eu fui ouvindo e pensando "esse ganhou" aí vinha o próximo "tá, esse ganhou" e foi indo assim. Podia literalmente jogar o prêmio para cima e quem pegar ganhou.
Out-frickin-standing! Overall, I think the pianist was my favorite!
Had to rewatch piano girl a few times. So dam smooth.
