    Memories of passing Baguley Hall at 1am after catching the all night bus from Manchester back in the 60s and early 70s. Spooky!!
    Hope that it is put to good use in the future. It would be criminal to let so much history and beautiful architecture go to waste. Keep making films of Wythensawe. I'm an expat and really enjoy them.

    This place is older than Wythenshawe Hall but as a kid it was never open and just sat there. It was taken over as a storge depot for the Direct Works which was a council building contractor and was used for storing materiels, what a crime. When I was 15 (now 60) I finally got to see inside when someone finally decided that this was a treasure and not a garden shed. Apparently the roof is supposed to have the contruction to an upturned Viking ship, who knows. Thanks for the memories.

    My mother has traced her maternal line back to Baguley Hall. It is so wonderful to see that the Hall still stands. Thank you for sharing.

    Thanks for the vid. I've had dreams of these buildings all my life, haunting dreams. My ancestry dates back to John Bigelow of early America, and as per the Vicar of Sir John Baguley of Ollerton Hall. Lovely film. Thank you.

    I traced my roots back to here before they sailed to Virginia in the 1600s. My last name spelling then changed to what it is now!

    Back in the 60's the Manchester corporation used the building as a cement shed.

      Hi! I would love to be put in touch with any of the Baguleys in England, if possible. I am also a descendant of the Baguleys and Bigelows, all the way down to my great great grandparents carrying the Bigelow name. My immigrant ancestor was John Bigelow, who immigrated to Watertown, Massachusetts, and married Mary Warren. His parents were Randall Bigelow and Lady Jane Wrentham.

    7:31 why are the panels numbered?

    • @Sharstonbaths
      @Sharstonbaths  Před 7 lety +2

      I don't know, but some people say, when doing renovations they were going to move them so decided to number them so they could replace them precisely were they came from, trouble was they used the wrong paint.

      It is the great ancestors ghosts leaving lottery predictions each week for their descendants but sadly no family members have yet to visit so are as poor as I am.

    Why do you do this? Music recorded without a proper sound engineer should be deleted, not used. Those singers and musicians have wasted their time. Please please please, find somebody who KNOWS what microfones are and what a (digital) mixer is. Then you will have a good reason to rehearse this repertoire. Yuck is the only word, now. Sad it is.

      I really enjoyed the video. The music is appropriate and took me back in time to the days before electricity. The only thing wrong with it is your comment!
