- Hey guys in this video my cousin's car was getting hot a few times and from my experience with the Commo V6's the Inlet gaskets are very common to go. I noticed the milky water in the radiator so that will be getting a flush out. Stay tuned for the next Video I make with me cleaning the parts and painting them before putting it back together.

Cheers Guys
awesome, straight to the bourbon!!
Outstanding vid mate and a tonne of info. Thanks alot!
Thanks mate I appreciate the Feedback 😁👍
I think u should have done head gaskets as well too. Thats the way I've always done it n I think its better that way coz sometimes what happens is the valley gaskets get changed one you've put all back together the head gaskets end blowing but each to their aye bro. But thats js a little of how I do it and atm I have two of them ecotech engines im doing gaskets on and its the intake gaskets that have blown js like yours but Im js doing the head gaskets to its all worth in end bro. But u done a awesome job mate cheers😊👍👍🖐
Hey matw where u from do my vally gasket and head il pay u fb
you are right mate like %1000
Removing vs holdern intake manifold, what happened with the tension pulley ?
I just LUUURVE the Craftwerk Music 🎼🎶💃
Wish I had a cousin like you🙂 seriously though thanks for the video
I need the valley cover gasket the red ones on the ends for the same make model where can I get
What is the talk specs when you put everything back together
Doing same thing this weekend wish me luck
top job as you removed a lot less than what i did but ill clean it all whilst its out.Ive got no milk in my oil but exhaust leaks on my left hand side and my wagon overheats.ill follow what u have done and be back crying in a day or 2 if im wrong.also my wagon wouldnt hold coolant well it would but woolies carpark got most of it as it bled green when it got warm.edit 2 days later put her back together starts then dies as i think i havnt seated the bottom side of the injectors properly that and a vacum hose was off charcoal cannister behind the block was the hose... Im rewatching now as im stumped what else it could be ALSO changed leads as i bought another wagon and the leads look new so i took them from the it{.reply lad do u think ive done a bad bad thing?
Hi I am about to do this to a vs commodore, is there any tricks when pulling off the hoses that run into the back of the plenum/ inlet manifold? I'm not too keen on pulling off the plenum or fuel rail or any of that, I was hoping to just pull the whole lot off as one peice, is this possible or does it all need to be taken off to access the inlet manifold bolts properly?
The fuel rail dosent need to come off that can stay on the manifold, as for pulling the hoses off nar there is no real trick apart from the ones you cant squeeze the clamps on you will need to use a pair of long nose pliers to get them ones off 👍
Hello mate I would like to know where are you location in Australia, I have the same car as your cousin.. Owen
I cant find this video for buick 3800 v6 holden
Hey brother couple question’s how did you remove the hose connected to the injector rail on the left side special tool or just pull it off right side has clamp but not left side and do I need to depressurise those lines on either side of injector rails new to this home mechanic jobs but keen to learn solid video btw brother 💯
The fuel line yeah you need a tool that slips over the line and slides inside lifting the tabs inside the hose, and nar no need to depressurise the fuel lines, well i dont i just pull it off and have my other hand over it to stop any splashing of fuel 👍
I just left it connected to the rail which was un-bolted
from the lower plenum, it just folds out of the way,
Butt yes a special tool is required if you want to disconn-ect
it BUTT it's Not really necessary tho ¡¡¡
If you want to De-Pressurisé it just remové the fuel
pumpé relay unt let the Veee-Hikull cumm to a Stall ¡¡¡
I was just wondering if you really have to remove fan and radiator to do this. It doesn't at first glance seem very clear that these components need to be removed, could you please let me know either way. Thanks. Good Vid by the way, very helpful.
Thank Gondalenium but nar you dont have too I just chose to so i could flush it out before putting in the fresh coolant.
Hey mate, How did you get the studs out from the tentioner through to the block
Take one off at a time starting with the stud with 50 bolts on it.do not try to pry the tensioner plumbing off until then as the outside alloy pipe snaps very easy.yes 2 pipes one out side and 1 inside the tensioner assembly 15mm if i remember
So do all the injectors just pull out together, or did you get lucky?
yes they pull out from the manifold BUTT are
held by a clip onto the rail it-self ¡¡¡¡
What about the heater pipes
hello do you have to take out the radiator fans etc?
Na its not totally necerssary to remove all that stuff to do the inlet
2:20 what did unbolt to get this off please
There are bolts inside the plenum that you undo mate
@@snrautoworx2840 awesome. cheers mate and does the fuel rail and injectors come off with it
@@A.M.A1988 yeah mate they do 😉
I just wanna know how to take the altnator bracket off.....skipped that part.
Hey bud, from memory there are 2 14mm bolts one behind the pully and the other has an earth on it, you will also need to undo one of the heater hoses and there is a metal pipe wich runs behind it going into the thermostat housing.
Hope this help a little mate.
I ended up taking it off with the manifold. I still don't know how to get the pipe out. But it can go back on that way
@@darrenrust8778 the pipe will just pull out, it will have a rubber O Ring that seals it
@@darrenrust8778 un-bolt the heater hot water inn-lett
pipe by the bolt with the earth wires on itt unt just
tap the pipe out towards the drivers side with a soft hammer ¡¡¡
Hey mate what state you in
Hey bud, I'm in Melbourne
@@snrautoworx2840 Hope you're all good over there at the moment I just picked up a vt commodore dead set lookalike as the one in video with same issues thankfully not head gasket cheers for this vid makes it so simple to understand what to do and how to go about it
Yeah its as good as it can be given whats going on in the world but Glad to hear it help you out mate 👌
Why pull out radiator an fans ?
You dont have too but i did only to clean up other area at the time and flush the radiator out
Tell me how is oil getting into the water from a leaking inlet gasket ..... yes I can see how water leaking there can go into the sump and mix with oil but not the other way around. And also except for the loss of coolant from inlet manifold gasket, a leak there isnt going to make the car run hot.
The reason for the car getting hot and oil in the water turned out to be a crack inside the radiator so it was transmission oil mixing with the water.
But its all about ruleing out things to find the cause, the inlet gasket needed replacing in the end so having done that wasnt a bad thing.
So was oil red in water in radatior?
less music more explaning as you go would be better. oh and by the way in part 2. i think we all know how to clesan bolts dude.
I'm Melbourne asweel wana fix my l67 vy calais boost aswell il pay ya I think i need vally gasket aswell
hahah, I don't think I'm really that comfortable doing someone else car just yet mate sorry
Come on mate its all good even if u messed up all good
