  • Overview of the new SOP based FLIP workflow. What are the new nodes and how to use them. We will also give a brief description of new pressure sources and boundary conditions.
    Tomáš Skřivan is a mathematician interested in making pretty pictures with beautiful mathematics. His main interest are in physics simulation, computer graphics and numerical methods.

    What if I have a Flip cache done at dopnet level. Is there a way to upres it using this workflow? Have tried a few methods but nothing work at the moment.

    will the files of the 3 boat example be shared ? i'm trying to redo it but having hard time merging all together in render

      yea it looks like a big lie and we cant merge it together without big difference between meshes

    The main problem with learning Houdini is the lack of information on the internet. Considering this software changes so much with every single update would be fine to have updated things to be guided on.
    With more information, more artists and Seniors can have a life.

      learn the classic techniques and principles.Actually Houdini doesn't change that much, they just update the hda, under the hood is the same.and there's a ton of information, look for structured courses not random and disconnected tutorials

    It’s just frustrating you always launch or present new flip features without braking them down or explaining how to, if it wasn’t for users like igor zanic and their custom alchemys you guys at side fx couldn’t even come out with the idea of an upres flip sim by yr own. Then u get inspired build new nodes and create a system to emule that but it can’t do the same thing…now this was a year ago but the new Houdini 20 release still lacks these samples or doesn’t clarify anymore than the guy u sent to this presentation…
    I know houdini is complicated but you do all the best to complicate it even more presenting tools or new nodes and systems with no example or breakdown whatsoever. Why didn’t u just ask mister zanic to explain if himself or include at least a sample scene providing the basic workflow before the release…..
