@@OLee-uh8rr Hey!! To start off, I applied ED to Rice and got in. One of the main things I learned was that grades/transcript are important, if you don't have what they are expecting (especially for t20 schools, I personally don't think they'll look further). You have to have high grades or overall academic improvement (grades don't have to be perfect, but good, I didn't even send my SAT score/I think my high rank helped out). After that, they'll check into your ECs and essay. My ECs were decent, not too special, had lots of volunteering and some leadership roles. My essay is where I think I stood out the most. I remember in one of Pratik's videos he talked about his essay on how he engineered a bird feeder. His essay reflected his personality. I chose a moment that changed my perspective of the world while I was volunteering. It was very unique to my community experience which represented my background, strengths, and weaknesses in a positive/improving light. So choose a moment that is essential to who you are as a developing young adult. It doesn't need to represent all of you, just something that shows your maturity and curious nature (because we aren't expected to know everything in our teen years). Good luck!! 🍀

Pratik, ive heard various things regarding this subject, but does the journa you publish in matter? Ive heard that colleges don't care about hs journals anymore and about impact levels for journals and everything. Obviously grad level journals are better, but in the broader perspective, do hs journal publications still look good?

My Issue is, I'm in an early college hs, so we dont rlly have ap classes and idek if the 2 yrs credit goes to schools like Ivy leagues, another thing is, mental health is ruined, especially the kids effected by 2020, but in general it is ruined
Hey, I'm not sure about your case but when I was looking for high schools, I was particularly researching a very famous early college high school in my state. And it said for almost all cases, Ivy's will not accept any extra credits. Maybe it was this school specifically, but I suggested you ask someone who works there
in my research, most Ivy League schools don't even accept ap credits. its just to show that you can excel academically.

Also most Ivies don’t accept transfer unfortunately… or they test by Exam so brush up on it if you want the credit (Correction: they do accept transfers but it’s rarer)
