    I personally make my own. I find it easier and cheaper. Watching this helped me even more so thank you. I prefer the fleece simply because of how easy it is to clean up and helped keep my chinchilla from chewing the plastic cage bottom. Now they actually chew the wooden stuff in their cage like I wanted them too. I also haven't had an issues with them trying to eat the fleece which was nice. I tend to use a towel under my liners to help soak up anything that goes through the liners

      That is great! I wish I owned a sewing machine so I could make them as well! Also, I am glad that I can help!

    I was using Carefresh until I saw it was not recommended so I just switched over to aspen shavings!

    I actually use washable mats for rodents, they dont chew it and it is way more absorbent than fleece, but this helps a lot on how to wash it🥰

    I’ve seen people use vacuums during cleaning a chinnies cage and was wonder if that is actually ok for the chin? Like I didn’t think it was really good for chin’s ears and hearing but I really wanna know your opinion on it.
    Also does the washers not get clogged with stray hay or anything?
    I don’t have Chins yet but I do plan to get them and plan to buy a metal bottom replacement for the critter nation and use shavings for that level and use fleece for the second level!

    Would you recommend using something a puppy pad to put under the fleece liner to help absorb it?

    Do you know the tile dimensions for the bottom critter nation? I have fleece for the second level and wanna tile the bottom so it’s not plastic

    • @ChinVillain
      @ChinVillain  Před 3 lety

      I have not tiled my cage before but have seen other do this. The critter nation cage is 24" x 36" however, you will need to measure on the inside of the cage to get the exact measurement. Also seems like you will need to cut the tiles to size rather than finding a precut tile.
      Also, most likely you will need to use more than one tile. So I have see people use corrugated plastic sheets that are cut slightly smaller than the tile to lay underneath to prevent anything from seeping out of the cracks in between the tiles.
      I do plan on tiling my cage in a future video but wont be for a while. Hope this helps in the meantime!
