My go-to for years has been Mac Russian Red. It’s more comfortable than ruby woo and I like the slightly deeper tone. Great video! You look beautiful!

I JUST bought that new Maybelline matte red! I realized all my other reds were orange-y and I didn't have much in terms of neutral-cool-toned reds. Loving it so far! Thanks for the insta link to those swatches--I was hoping you'd do the whole line...I kinda want all of them!!

Yay for doing whatever the hell you want! :) I looooooved the Maybelline Matte Inks, I really hope they jump on the cruelty-free bandwagon soon! I never had an issue applying or removing them, they just WORKED for me. I still have some that I had bought before going CF, but their days are definitely numbered. :(

You rock the reds beautiful! Red is my jam as well! Any time is a good time to wear red lips. It’s an instant pick me up when the day doesn’t go so well. I also love matte reds. I stay away from orange reds or sheer reds. I feel what’s the point?Red is such an statement that a sheer red doesn’t work for me. Unless, I use it as a topper. “Revlon Red” has been with me for a long time, “cherries in the snow” is gorgeous and “Bombshell” is a dark red that I use all the time. “Are you red-y” from Maybelline is a good one too. I also wear the “Pioneer” one quite a bit and I have no issues with it. I like a couple of the ones you showed. I will give them a try! Love your videos!

Have you tried MAC Russian Red? It’s my fave! I also love the Mabelline liquid lipstick in Pioneer.
I'm also NC42 and 'Caramel' in NYX Can't Stop Won't Stop like her, and I prefer MAC's Russian Red to Ruby Woo. I can't rock Ruby Woo without foundation, but Russian Red I can effortlessly pull off with my bare face, full face, half-done face or even just with some sunblock on lol.
Russian Red being a shade cooler or darker than Ruby Woo, makes everything look really well put together, since I have black hair and really dark eyes. On the other hand, Ruby Woo can make my skin imperfections more noticeable, so I find myself mostly wearing Ruby Woo at home or with a full face, since I find the shade pretty risky.

I only have one good deeper red in my collection and that is Iman Scandalous. The color is MAC Ruby Woo-ish, but the formula is creamy. I wore it last Saturday night with a red and black dress. It was so nice for a night out dancing. It is a very sexy shade, and only $8!
Another decent one that I have given to my niece is from The Lip Bar called Bawse Lady. Beautiful shade, but I found that it migrated out of my lip line over the course of six hours. I am sure it would stay in place better with a lip liner or lip primer, but I didn't want that extra hassle. It is such a gorgeous matte though (like Coloured Raine's Cherry Blossom, which is another amazing red for melinated red lipstick lovers).
Of the ones you showed, the Covergirl Hot shade was most appealing to me (low price is part of the appeal, lol). I don't wear reds a lot though (mainly special occasions). I thought I only had Iman Scandalous for remaining reds, but I also have an Elf matte lipstick in Rowdy Rouge. On me, it is an orange-y red. I don't love it on me and due to its tube length it is stored in a different place than my other lippies (hence the reason I forget about it). I only like it in the summer with a goldish gloss on it. It is definitely a candidate for declutter.

I'm NC42 (even tho it only starts looking like my skin tone after a couple of hours after oxidizing) and wear Caramel in the NYX Can't stop won't stop foundation as well, but I find MAC Ruby Woo, NARS Don't Stop and the Sephora Cream Lip
Stain in 01 to be too bright which points out that the skin around my mouth and neck (right under the jaw) is like a shade dark or has a different undertone, or honestly just makes any imperfection on my face noticeable. I have jet-black hair and really dark eyes, and hate leaning towards warmer or brighter colours usually. So I wonder if that's why a colour on you looks so different than when it's on me, despite the fact that we both end up using the same foundations. I'm also a Syracuse in NARS, Y425 in Make Up For Ever, and in Fenty Beauty, I need to mix 300 with 320.

Morphe has some AMAAAZING reds. Their mattes aren't as dry as MAC's.. Ruby Woo is beautiful but very dry. Plus, Morphe is extremely affordable! ❤❤❤❤
I have never been able to find a red lipstick I really like on me. The closest I've come is Revlon Spicy Cinnamon, which is a pearly red but it has some brown in it. More like a brick red. Tfs! 💜

Idk why, but I started off wearing cool oranges only when I was a minor, and right after 18, any lipstick with warm undertones make my skin look off. Most red lipsticks I've come across would look too bright and orangey on me, and I HATED that. Even the Fenty Beauty Original Stunna Lip Paint in Uncensored looks too bright on me and always make my chin hyperpigmentation and acne stand out. With Red Lipsticks that have a very cool undertone, or are just on the darker side, it really balances my face out, and I always get compliments on those. I'm like a mix of NC42 and NC44, NC42 is a tad bright and too yellow on me, whilst NC44 is 2 shades darker but matches my neck (my chest and starting from collarbones, perfectly match my face though). I'm like a cool olive, so idk if that means I'm Neutral with cool undertones, or just someone with cool undertones.
