Facts my bro!!! Philosophically, material ownership is seen as temporary and defined by society. Spiritually, traditions like Buddhism and Stoicism teach that attachment leads to suffering, emphasizing the impermanence of everything. Practically, we have legal documents that grant us ownership, but even that is temporary in the grand scheme of things.

That’s a true fact bro ! You summed that up so perfectly man 🙏🏾

How about doing both? Sold my first house for double the price I paid...within 6 years. That's way more than what my money would have done in the market via equities, but I invest as well so we're building equity in both ways. Also don't have to worry about annual rent bumps. Agree on the cars though...they're a depreciating asset for the most part.

I’m on the same boat I just invest in ETF’s and Mutual Funds in my brokerage, 401k and Roth IRA. I’m debt free as well but I still want a house for my wife and I. I only got one house in me 😂 I also love my Paid off Honda Accord

    Certain maintenance.... 🙄🙄🙄
Try paying $2,300 for rat removal service....
That's just the tip of the iceberg.
My dishwasher just started leaking in the kitchen a week ago. That's more repair cost. Spent $19k on the roof last year. Gotta spend $4k for all new pool screens, $6k for a new AC unit in about 3-4 years. Bought my last AC unit in 2020 for $5k.. Tree trimming service is $1k every couple years. $145/mo for weekly pool service, $110/mo for lawn service. $1k for a new pool pump and $1k for pool filter. I gotta do new electrical system for $4-5k, $3k irrigation system, $3k exterior fence, and redo my windows for $20k next.

My house is built in 1984. I bought it from my dad in 2004. My dad owned it from 1989-2004.
There's WAY more things on my list of repairs. Those are just the immediate things coming up. I have to completely redo the exterior, bring it up to code, make it safe and habitable again.
My repair list is about $75k long. But I'm trying to tackle it little by little. I'm paying for everything in cash. I practice delayed gratification. EVERYBODY IS TRYING to get me to spend all the money at once, and do a giant crazy expensive home renovation project. They chastise me about the condition of my house. They try to guilt trip me into spending the money.
      I. DON'T. CARE. WHAT. OTHER. PEOPLE. THINK. OR. FEEL.
It's MY MONEY and MY HOUSE, and I'll do whatever I damn well please. 😆🖕

OMG 😳 there is a lot of hidden cost when it comes to home ownership! I think I’m a make a video talking about that ! You got this though ! One thing at a time 🙏🏾❤️

@@fritzgabriel1995 Absolutely you're correct!! I just have a ton of repairs right now, because they are putting utilities in at my house currently (that costs an extra $30k amortized over 30 years, I'll pay $80k for it at 12% interest if I only pay the minimum payment of $225/month.)
I also have a ton of repairs to perform because my house is 40 yrs old, and I was hit by Hurricane Ian in 2022. My homeowner's insurance went up to $5k per year for the last 3 years, and then they dropped my homeowner's insurance here in Florida. Now, I have no insurance... Hopefully they fix the insurance issue here in Florida. It's a nightmare being a homeowner right now. It definitely ain't for the faint hearted. You gotta be flush with cash to survive the ride.

      @@fritzgabriel1995 Let me also clarify...
My house is 1400 sq ft with an underground pool on an 80'x125' lot. My house is TINY compared to everybody else. And I STILL HAVE THOSE CRAZY COSTS....!! 🤯

Hey do you have the receipt to that house. We got to return it lmaooo jk but yea home ownership is no joke. Hey if your kids are older you could probably sell and rent and just invest all that money you were planning on spending on the maintenance. I know rent prices not all that either but just an idea loll

Owning is great and he stated he has a condo himself BUT you don't need a 10 bedroom home (exaggeration) to impress others because you really gonna pay for it. Only NEW homeowners are excited about having their home and tell everybody to get one. Talk to people who are 5-20 years into homeownership. They will have the REAL stories (good and bad) of the stress, experience and financial burdens their homes cause them.

Let me enlighten you to my idea. I wouldn’t buy a house are a lambo with my capital. For example if a house cost 500k I’d rather invest that In a broad market index fund rather than taking out a loan with the bank for 500k. Being debt free and solely using residual income to rent experiences.
