    I love all the comments people telling this department what they should do with the trucks and how they should suspect them. This department seems to have it together and they know what they need and want. But it seems like many people here, he know more than the chief.

      You got a lot of folks on here who think they know fire fighting.
      You've also got folks who do know fire fighting but they are used to doing it their way. One size does not fit all and it never has.... As you correctly pulled out every fire department has to look at the needs of their community they had to look at how the equipment's going to function within the stations and within the neighborhoods they have to look at what kind of neighborhoods there are there's a whole lot of factors nowadays that didn't used to be around but we have to look at them now.

    • @navblue20

      I'll give you an example at my station we have an ambulance an a first response vehicle a pumper and a 105 straight pipe w no platform.
      Our area platform is at another station about 8 mi away between us and them we have at least 17 apartment complexes in the last year we fought three major fires in apartment complexes.
      We're lucky we have good hydrants and good standpipe areas. Some places don't.

    What he says at the 11 minute mark everybody should pay attention to.
    If your maintenance is on the ball if you have people in there that know what they're doing if you are willing to spend the money to do it you can keep the trucks running.
    And you can also train those same mechanics to keep up and adapt to the changes in the technology that is out there.
    There should be no excuse not to do that unless you're just lazy.

    Hey SMFR PIO, I'm curious as to why the engines co's all have roll up doors vs hinged doors for trucks? I've noticed that different depts will often do it either way but this is obviously all within one department and all part of one big order.

They are beautiful I give them that . Like I said every department is different we had a heavy rescue we had a engine that we had a truck everybody know their part no cross trainer

  • @Michel91722

    Watching this as a German. It's really weird to see such big trucks with so much unused space etc. I think the European/German style Firetrucks are a bit mir efficient. Smaller and not that much water, but more personal and more equipment.
    But still very cool Firetrucks you had smfr!

    • @Nick-bb4nk
      @Nick-bb4nk Před 4 lety +1

      There isn't really much unused space; You have to remember they have a tank that holds thousands of litres of water, one or two pumps and the truck's powerplant to make all of these things work. In reality your trucks are the same as ours, they just don't look the same.
