- On this episode of Fleet Friday we get an inside look at Engine 40, one of two pumper-tenders that protect rural areas at South Metro. Engine 40 is a 2009 Pierce Velocity with a 1,500 gallon water tank and CAFS system, staffed with a crew of 4 Firefighters, including a Paramedic.
This was a great host! Showed everything in a simple way and even threw in some sarcasm!
Amazing video, One of the most detailed Fleet Fridays I have seen. I wish everyone would explain the rigs like that gentleman did. Thanks for the videos and congrats on the start of season 2.
I'm only 60 seconds into the video, but I had to stop and say the intro for season two is SWEET! Great job y'all!
This brings back memories of being a volunteer fireman. I was a volunteer fireman for St.Helens Oregon and how things have changed since I was a volunteer.
BEST FIREFIGHTER CHANNEL ON CZcams. LITERALLY THE BEST
Thanks for this Fleet Friday video on Engine 40 😎 This Engine shows its multi purpose capacities for the variety of calls it's capable of responding to in the highlands area. Very Interesting. Thanks to Firefighter/ Paramedic Taylor Olson for being highly knowledgeable, able to clearly explain and show all the compartments and what they are used for.
i love the new intro
Love the intro
Can you do a fleet Friday of the blizzard response truck
Cameron Smith please do!
South metro u guys inspired me to become a firefighter locally thanks for everything and tufys
Love the new intro! Great stuff PIOs!
That intro is freaking awesome guys! Hopefully this season is as awesome as the new intro!
-Dawson
Love the new intro guys, keep up the great work as usual
Super rural set up. Very smart department. The Parker Fire and Louvers Fire depts traditions survived the mergers to keep an excellent rural practice. I too like the cool intro!
That PulsePoint notification made me jump! Also Amazing intro.
Lucky to have career engine staffed with four in such a rural interface. Most places will not have career, let a lone four people. I am sure this is a great benefit for response times to this area.
Right? My department has a hard time even getting three on an Engine!
Hey South Metro! Love the Fleet Friday vids! Any chance you could do one on your Type 6 Brush Trucks! Seen them on some vids would love to see a close up and see how you load them out!
Peirce or Spartan? Like for Peirce, comment for spartan
any manufacture that constructs first response vehicles are liked.
Sparten
@@sablesaber5930 True. I am just a bigger fan of peirce.
Both
I always liked the way Pierce designs their trucks
Love the new Intro!!
Awesome Video Content and Cool Firefighter and Truck
You guys might call it an Engine, but it seems more like a Rescue Engine given all the different elements he explained (high rise, low angle rope rescues, wildland fire fighting, and vehicle entrapment)
Taylor Olson thanks for the in depth view of the rig!
Keep up the good work ❤❤❤❤❤😊
Just gotta say, I love the new intro!
In addition to the fleet Friday’s you guys should do some more station tours
Very nice rig. One stop shopping.
Intro was badass
Nice detailed video! You guys should definitely try and arrange an exchange over to the UK. Our engines are completely different beasts!
Hey you two are still going amazing love the videos and the new intro
Cool opening
Awesome video. Very similar setup to our rig.
I liked the end with the dump tank an Tanker filling would of liked to see water flowing
Awesome intro!!!
Will you do a video on what goes into maintaining the apparatus in your fleet?
New intro is awesome!
Dope intro! Great work!
will you guys be doing a fleet friday video on tender 34 or tender 40?
Nice
ooo I love the new intro guys good job
Hi Eric an Conner.
Oh hi my self
🤦♂️
Nice Fire truck buddy
Amazing. Love the videos!!!
Love the new intro.
Engine 40 must be one of the most versatile trucks on the whole SMFR fleet.
Is it possible that Olson forget to tell us the truck can also swim??
FLEET FRIDAY ON THE BLIZZARD VEHICLE AHHHHHHH
Yyyyeeeeessssss there finally back!!!!!!!!!!
NICE RIG! I cut my teeth on Tanker( 2K gallon pumper/ tankers) ops in Alaska, back when "tailboarding and regular ladder racks still existed. I loved the ability to dump and go with the supply rigs, continuing to flow with attack lines!! Thanks again for your " Fleet Friday videos.
Curious as to what brand pump is used, Waterous, Hale or ??? The Pierce rigs I worked with had " Waterous".
Looks like a Hale based on the branding on the pump.
10:10 "tubes where we house torpedoes" - if you drop those bottles and they hit the ground the wrong way that's basically what they become, so he's not completely wrong with that!
Is there a fire department crane in the District of South Metro?
And I was also wondering if there is another unit beside the hazmat, specialized in hazmat calls, e.g. for decontamination of persons?
Great Video as always and Greetings from Europe!
SMFR does not have a crane. They do have a decontamination unit in the form of a 2013 International heavy duty box truck at Station 17 known as Decon 17.
Nice intro.
nice looking rig
That intro 🔥😳
I'm sad he didn't tell us what's in the safe/lockbox at 24:35
Generally its narcotics such as fentanyl, ketamine and so on. Used for pain management and sedation. They're locked and logged and everyday in most cases. Are engine has something similar.
I'm a volunteer firefighter in brandon,ms and our trucks are nothing of that size
You don’t have just fire rescue paramedic squads? A video on your just fire rescue unit would be nice!
Right up
Can you guys post a video on how you guys refill your trucks with water
I guess South metro is the most active fire department on youtube
What happens if the fire truck gets a call during fleet Friday
Tankers are dope
Alguien podría decirme dónde puedo conseguir el porta radios que tiene el presentador por favor? Tengo bastante tiempo buscándolo y no lo he encontrado. Gracias y bendiciones
dope intro, but used "staring" instead of starring lol
love the content as always!
Can you do more day in the life of a firefighter
I feel like Engine 40 is longer than a “normal” engine.
What is the rarest truck they have in smfr
So basically 2.5 inch hose and 1500 gallon truck u have 5 minutes before you run out of water
Nice, I really like the new intro.
get some snow cleats for your boots or shoes they work find them on amazon
It's funny, my company is District 40
nice intro
How many feet is the hose roll for the Blitz Fire?
It is called the orange kit because it is orange
Can you guys do a Fleet Friday on one of the tender units?
No o2 for medical aid calls?
12:09 Up here in my area we call them Indian Guns lol
Do you have a video of your tender?
“Staring”
Can you make a fleet Friday on a engine like Engine 42
Any chance of station tours?
do Tower 18 next please
Do u have a crane. If u do plz do a Friday on it
Hello
My voice has been heard
hello
Sound more like a Squad or Rescue Engine.
Are you guys running APX 7000XE radios? How do you like them?
SMFR uses the APX 6000XE. Unfortunately I cannot speak for how they like them.
So engine 40 is their daily use engine?
'Starring' is misspelled in the intro.
Do u plan to do a fleet Friday for every vehicle in south metro’s fleet?
They already have a lot of the fleets in their fleet Friday playlist
Do the blizzard truck ple
pulse point?
Is station 40 a three or four person station?
Station 40 is a four person station. South Metro has been working on getting four person engines for the past several years.
Jaws of life
People keep being mean to me what should I do 😢😢😢😢😢❤❤❤❤❤❤😢😢
What is PIO?
Public Information Officer
"Starring" is two Rs. 'Staring' is looking at me too long for pointing that out :)
Could it be classified as a tanker?
Hi
GOd the intro is so long
Where can I find a high quality hula girl?!
Video audio becomes desynced. Nice video but the audio is not synced fully. As of 10:21 time stamp.
EDIT: It becomes synced again at 10:21 but is not synced for a couple of minutes prior to that.
yeah and it stinks after why
They should've called it Rescue engine
