Fleet Friday - Ladder 12

- This Fleet Friday is one of our most detailed! It features Ladder 12, known as "The Black Pearl" which is housed at Firehouse 12 at 6529 S. Broadway in Littleton. The Firehouse 12 motto is the "Pirates of Broadway," their theme is included on the apparatus and their equipment.
During 2020 Ladder 12 responded to 2,259 total incidents making it the busiest aerial apparatus at South Metro. 42 of those incidents were dispatched as structure fires.
Ladder 12 is a 2015 Pierce Velocity and the only non-platform aerial or "Tower" apparatus at South Metro Fire Rescue.
Who all remembers him from day in a life of a firefighter
I thought he looked familiar.
Me
I do
He is my favourite
It was the video which brought me to this channel.
wonderful. my father said his smoke alarm kept beeping, but he had a stroke and couldn't use his ladder. unit came out, they completely replace both of Daddy's smoke alarms for free. "we'd rather you call for a simple thing like this, than recover you out of smoldering ruins." why they are everyday heros.
Very well stated. And absolutely true.
What a great presentation. Everything was so eloquently explained. The knowledge of this firefighter is enormous. I am ALWAYS impressed by South Metro personnel. Thank you for continuing to share.

They already did Med 1
@@duke101695 that was fleet friday thou
Both are on their list and will be done eventually
When I saw the pic for the video I wondered if it would be the same guy from a day in the life of a firefighter...and it is!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO! Big Respect
I appreciate how in depth and knowledgeable FF Justin is about his equipment he operates with. Stay safe.
Yay you got Justin from day in the life to do this
Great video! I like how in-depth this guy gets. It's nice to see other people's tools and how they relate!
I’ve been waiting for this for so long! Such an amazing rig!
Always have seen the rig outside the station but rarely i have caught it responding even tho they are usually busy
Follow @colorado_fire_ems on instagram for a bunch of ladder 12 videos
I love the profession of firefighters and God bless you all, thank you so much for saving lives,💖💯🙌🇧🇷
This is really a thorough review of everything on the Ladder truck. I mean really well done. After viewing all of this one can see that this Ladder Truck is ready for just about anything. This might have been a long video, but Justin made it go by very quickly and is worthwhile to watch it over again. Thanks for doing an excellent job of explaining how things function on this outstanding looking rig. Great video content. I know a young mom who lives in the Springs who is interested in becoming a fire fighter and will be encouraging her to check out all your videos.
Thank you so much!
EXCELLENT walk-around. Know your truck, know your tools.
Omg I have been waiting this long as well for this rig. Best rig in south metro!
4:19 I like that he mentioned rescuing a person AND a dog. Dogs need the help, too. Glad he recognizes that!
Thank you Kim Connor and Eric from your friend Kyle
Nice to see Justin again
Justin killed it on this! Clearly has immense knowledge of everything on the rig and all of his duties - and he's damn good at explaining it, too. Well done to the PIO team and Justin.
what a thorough and engaging run-through. He really knows his truck inside out and quite articulate with it. Really someone how loves his job.
I'm not even a US citizen, but i can surely say that u guys real life savers, all of you: Police, Firefighters, Medical etc. Only respect and proud of u! I wish to have something like US emergency agencies in my country.
One of the best videos yet. I hope to see him more. He explains very well. Thank you.
I would love to see a series showing uncut, unedited calls (fire, vehicle accidents, etc.) from start to finish. Starting at the station from the moment the call comes in, seeing how fast they are out the door, how long it takes to get there and finish the job, and just overall get a better sense of what a call is like from start to finish.
You could call it something like, "Ride Along"
You can’t have uncut or unedited videos of certain calls due to patient privacy concerns, legal reasons and possibly time constraints. Eric and Connor are very good at what they do and that’s probably why you don’t see videos like that.
trust me, a good half hour to an hour of cleaning hoses and restocking trucks isn't interesting haha.
Hello, in the city where I live SLO, CA. Fire Station 3 is on the corner of my block the guys there are great!! I thank them for all they do.
Them are some of the bravest people that I have ever seen. Love from West Virginia volunteer fire department.
Nice job and detail of The Black Pearl from Justin. Justin looks thinner than his premier in day in the life...j/k. Nicely done and stay safe!!
Damn, those biceps. You know that he definitely hits the gym for sure.
this was very good tour of your rig best ever keep up the good work stay safe
Outstanding presentation!!!
🔥🔥🔥another awesome video i love watching y’all channel💪💯
He did a Terrific job explaining the Truck and its tools that the Truck has and how the tools work for different jobs and tasks.
Nice to see a video on full air systems and maintenance facility of the SCBA’s tanks and auxiliary systems.
Justin rocked the presentation. Very knowledgeable!!!!!!!
Thats a very cool Ladder and station 🙏🏻
Asumeness ❤️ Littleton Colorado!!!!!!!!!!!!!!¡!👍
man, the station 12 video was shorter than this. this ladder is huge
GREAT Video! VERY interesting and informative. Now I understand why Home Depot is always out of Husky tool bags and totes! 😆
Best "Fleet Friday" I have seen yet, and well worth the time. I do not work for or owe anything to Pierce, but they make the best ladder trucks and fire engines; that is just my opinion. I would also have this guy on my crew anytime, he is extremely knowledgeable. I bet he would be a fine paramedic and I am confident he is a fine firefighter. I would want a fellow fire fighter like him working with me. Sharp as a tack. Stay safe out there and take care.
I made this truck as a mod in a firefighting game. Love y'alls rigs.
Wow! Very interesting. Thanks.
Outstanding presentation. BE SAFE!
i´ve waiting this video many time thank youuu
Very cool. Our local department Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District here in Washoe County NV is also going with the same black on red theme for their apparatus.
This is an Awesome Video tour of this piece of apparatus 👏👏👏 Thanks
I the day in the life of a firefighter, Justin had mentioned that the Pirates of Broadway and the Main Street Screamers and other companies had stickers. Could y’all put them on the next community store? Thanks in advance
BEST YET !
Good to see he is still working there!
Excellent review of Ladder 12, kudos FF Justin!
Great video and information
Thank you I very appreciate it to tell us everything and how they work
Black ladder is soooo nice
That’s awesome I’m going to the academy in December
A well done fleet Friday. Some of the guys doing fleet Friday or Saturday are extremely boring, but this guy is good.
Awesome video, thank you.
Absolutely no doubt that this man is going far, perhaps even chief.
OUTSTANDING. ! ! ! 👍👍🇺🇸
Ladder 12 is BEAUTIFUL..!
Well-designed rig. I'm always amazed when I see compartments 1-20 % full. Spending tens of thousands of dollars for nothing. With the exception of your charger compartment, it's well done.
Engine-36, Medic-36 & Station-36. All suggestion's for Station Saturday and Fleet Friday!
There are fleet fridays on E16 and M16 which are basically the same as E and M36 and the station Saturday will be done eventually
2nd favorite series straight after the day in the life series
There’s just something about Justin that makes him my favorite
Best Fleet Friday
When will there be the next vlog you guys go to so much fire on PulsePoint and also is the station Saturday of station 61 I mean 21 this Saturday
The next station saturday should be next month, they do station Saturday's once a month.
wow what a interesting video
Very. Cool .
Ah yes the black pearl
Yay another thing to build! XD
i cant wait to see that
Same haere
Nice rig.
Do your engines carry standpipes (not right name I don’t think but don’t know what it’s called) but a pipe that can connect to a hydrant where you can then connect many hoses to them? Lastly do they carry Y’s or C’s (where you can spelt hoses off another hose to make it longer if needed? Also do your engines have reel lines (I assume not) and pre-connects (I assume yes)?
Pierce needs to hire him as a ladder apparatus trainer
Great Demo and well maintained appliance. Out of interest how do you monitor your firefighters when they wearing BA inside a structure? All the best from Lancs fire rescue , England 👍
Great job, So assume this Ladder was pre-merger, so is the goal to replace this with a Tower or keep one ladder in the dept. Assume there are pro's and cons to each
Hello fire Emt guy from Ohio
On your search rope how far apart are your knots spaced apart? On the end of your stick look like you had 2 pieces of webbing what are they for?
👍👍👍
Can you please show us how the equipment works?
so i wanted to be a volunteer emt could u do more ems videos or do a day in the life of a ems chief
I would really like to know what's the Camera and Lens you're filming with!
I’m a new Subscriber
What station is battalion 2 at and what station is safety 12 at
What will be for the next fleet Friday
Do you have a rapid response truck ?
Can engine 21 or brush 21 have the next fleet Friday or have one
HIS ARMS ARE SO BIG!!!
Do you guys have an email. I have made a picture I would like to share with you :)
Does South Metro have Junior Cadet Programs?
@12:39 i was hoping he was gonna say this is where we keep our pizza's
um when he mentioned rescue company i thought before collapse 45 he mentioned Station 34 And Rescue 34
I think this guy was in the a day in a life of a firefighter video
"elevated mechanical advantage" aka makeshift crane
What kind of moter is on that truck?

1:09 am I the only person that saw the football between the chair and center console
It may not be a bad idea but as far as your paramedics goes . Bulstic vests may not be idea even on the calls . Once on the call and away from your rig and things go bad . It is all ready to late to go back for your best plus . Your ambulance crews are more likely to run into violence than a fire crews . 🚑🚑🚑🚑🚑
SMFR does our best to keep personnel safe. Every riding position on ambulances, fire trucks and support staff vehicles that respond to incidents have ballistic vests.
Amazing video! What’s the music from 48:00 to 49:47?
Shut Up and Take My Money by Dominik Schwarzer
@@Spitfire8520 thank you!
@@Spitfire8520 😧
Y not a PUC pump to save space? I love the extra space on my company’s truck
what song is this?
Is there just a station with a engine and Battalion chief
There is a station (22) with a Battalion (5), Engine (22), Brush (22), and Fan (22) at the station.
Why does only station 12 have a ladder truck ,but other stations have tower trucks?
The reason was because Ladder 12 was purchased by Littleton Fire Rescue along with Tower 18 to diversify their fleet while South Metro Fire had all towers before the merger between the two agencies so they kept the ladder.
Well in South Metro there is a working commercial fire and a working residential fire at this moment list to it on PulsePoint
Un ángel fue icex
No

I just don't get it, why do US ladder trucks carry more extrication equipment then engines?
Like: "there is a car wreck that caused a traffic jam, responding with the largest, unwieldiest vehicle, that carries little to no water, and carries a specialized complex mechanism, that has no use on 80% of car accidents (the ladder) totally makes sense..."
