  • This video shows how to fix a broken RV Hydraulic hose with the correct repair parts. No temporary patch just a long term fix at 1/10 the price. Parker hose connector part number is 20651-4-4 and the male to male connector between the two hose connectors is part number 4-htx-s. This one has an elastomeric seal in the nose. It is quite a bit more expensive than the one I used. Still waiting for Parker to give me the less expensive part number. Also learned that the replacement number 2-651-r-4-4 will not work with the older hose.
    ACCORDING TO PARKER THEY HAVE A NEW REPLACEMENT NUMBER FOR THIS PART. IT IS
    20651R-4-4 THEIR PHONE NUMBER IS 330-296-2871 GOOD LUCK
    Below is a description of the connector or union that will go between the two hose connectors
    Union - 37 Degree Flare / 37 Degree Flare, HTX Series (4 HTX-S)
    Union - 37 Degree Flare / 37 Degree Flare, HTX Series

    I went to the distributor to get this coupling, but it would not fit my 2006 Beaver Monterey line. They said the coupling only works on Parker hoses.

    Fixed mine with Barbed Brass Coupling and 2 hose clamps on each end.

      The repairman who fixed my rv at the park because the original hose blew out did the same. It leaked and he stated it was only a temporary fix. That is when I researched and found the fix designed by the hose mfg.

    I have leak at fitting that connects to manifold. Will verify correct size and if so cut hose and install. If it works it will be a life saver. Thanks for the info

      @@cecilwoodworking7204 No the hose was to brittle had to replace. But have the fittings for future use, great idea.

    The end that screws onto the hose are left handed threads (counter clockwise rotation to install) . In the video you are rotating the wrong direction and that is why it is not going on the hose very well.

    Is this 1/8” line that’s in the video? I have an 1/8” Synflex line I need to fix. This video is exactly what I had in mind!

      Call the company that makes the synflex line and give them the part number on the hose. Then ask them if they have field serviceable connectors for that hose.

    You mentioned that the new Parker part # 2-651-r-4-4 will not work with older hose. Can you please elaborate? The original part# 20651-4-4 is no longer available anywhere.

    They make a single and double braid field repair fitting, single is what is needed on these. I repair my drain jetting hose the same way.

    • @cecilwoodworking7204
      @cecilwoodworking7204  Před rokem

      This braid is not metal so it takes a different fitting.

    • @bryanmontgomery4050

      I use them everyday, I repair my hydro jetting hoses with them all the time, they are nylon braid so the single braid works the best.

    I had to have a new hose made. Could not find the fittings. With the 7/16 JIC female and 1/4 hose end and 153" of hose, I paid $132. If I called Exotic Automation and gave them your part number would it fit my camper leveling system hose and the 7/16 JIC female?

    A year ago I had leaks at the fittings on 2 hoses. Dealer called hydraulic company and they said must replace two hoses. (Hoses we’re not leaking)
    End result was (1) 10’ hose with (2) 90 deg. fittings, (1) 6’ hose with (2) 90deg fittings, and four hours total labor. The dealer did not charge me anything on top. My cost was $1,250.00. Sound like a fair price?

      I recently bought a 14' 2-wire hydraulic hose from amazon with a 6,000 psi rating for $40. It was from a company called Gator Hose and I'm pretty sure you can order them with whatever length and fitting you need directly from their website. It may have been worth paying them to do it if the hoses were hard to get to. The hose that I replaced ran through my front storage compartment so it was very easy to access. I have a video about it on my channel.

      1/4” 100R7 thermoplastic hose is $4 per metre. The 7/16” JIC swivel females are $5 each and a ferrule is less than a dollar each. If you got told $900 to repair they were having you on !

    • @cecilwoodworking7204
      @cecilwoodworking7204  Před rokem +2

      The hose ran the full length of the RV so all the panels had to be removed. $125 per hour plus travel plus the hose.

      If i had to replace the entire hose i would tape the new hose to the old and pull it all the way through.
