Be careful when using the prying tool, as it will damage the water or dust seal. @1:49 when the front face is flipped over, there should be a thin rubber about 1 mm thick going around its back. Either this is not the first time the kindle in this video has been opened, or it's really the flat tool that's damaged all the rubber seal around the bezel, or maybe it's a different kindle model. I have just opened my kindle paperwhite 2, and on one side I did it like in the video, with the metal tool going all the way that you can see its tip on the other side like at 1:13, whereas on the other side I just pulled at the front a little bit at the time like at 1:29 onwards. The face got free slowly, and in the end I managed to save 3/4 of the rubber seal. I guess for the rest I'll just cut a piece of rubber band and stick it in its place when putting it back together. now, still waiting for that aliexpress screen to be delivered (I ordered it before the cyber monday kindle reader price slash...)
Do you know where you can get the manufacturer's program for the internal storage of the kindle, that is, the "controller vendor" tool to reset the internal storage? My Kindle froze up a few days ago and the LED light that indicates when the battery is charging or whe it is fully charged is also dead. Does anyone know if the battery is completely dead if the LED should still work when trying to charge it?

chuy25 You would probably have to change out multiple parts to get it working if it is liquid damaged.

Keeping in refrigerator while making sure kindle doesnt get wet can make the display temporarly better.

You could have a bad battery or logic board.

You would need to order the replacement parts and try them out. There is no easy way to tell what the exact issue is without changing out components.
