Yap, most Filipinos learned 3 languages. Their regional dialect (Cebuana in Morissette's case), Filipino (Tagalog) and then English. Actually Visayas are more proficient in English than Tagalog.

Well actually English is one the official languages in the Philippine so it is supposed to be her first language alongside Filipino 🙃
I was so amazed by her talent and vocal prowess, I doubt I would have ever caught those minor lyrical mishaps.
If you look a little deeper, you'll realize those "mistakes" didn't interfere with the song's intent and worked just as well as the proper lyrics.
Through the freedom of personal interpretation, I've often changed lyrics myself. Maybe hers was more choice than accident. Just a thought.

Awwww Thank you for this reaction! This Morissette "Fanmom" was happy to get this notification! You touch on something that I have said in other spaces about this song (and I realize this is pure opinion but I happen to share yours) and that is that this song is grandiose in its original state and doesn't need much embellishment. Morissette sounds incredible on this song, adds just enough of herself and it comes off beautifully. I think she does Pasek and Pauls amazing composition justice, both technically and emotionally, because oh the freakin feels! The comment section for this performance on Wish has some of the most beautiful impressions of her emotional impact from people all over the world. This Wish bus upload has close to 9 million views and it premiered in mid September! I've heard her sing this multiple times from this bus to, massive concert halls, to literally a small office party all live and her consistency is stunning! This particular performance is deceiving, as she's actually performing not just for a crap load of fans outside the bus, but for two live press feeds (one in Dubai) promoting her upcoming concert tour, so its not a typical bus performance it was Highstakes. This was the third of three vocal chord busters she sang on the bus that day, so this is far more impressive than meets the eye. Thank you for taking the time to react to Morissette again!

I read that she was a little sink and was having some vocal chord strain from her recent tour dates. If she can do this when she is sick and tired is absolutely amazing
Mori’s tone, style, dynamics, emotions, stage presence are making me an addict! She is exceptionally good! Also, the lyrics part, there are other sources online with some wrong lyrics. She may have checked out the source with different lyrics because ive heard her other performances of this song and she used the same lyrics. So it must be the source of lyrics.
