If somehow anybody can pass the message along to olivia, go to the doctor girl! I hear you're broke, even if your parents are offering you support are you still on their health insurance?? I didn't get diagnosed with EDS until I was 30 years old -- being exhausted on a 36-hour a week work schedule, the way you talk about grocery shopping being draining or having to meal prep and the way that those things are exhausting to you, it seriously sounds like you might have a medical condition that's going undiagnosed. Unfortunately for women it can be very hard to get a doctor to listen to you and take you seriously but ask about eds, get your thyroid tested, look into the kinds of disorders that can cause chronic fatigue, etc because if it's treatable you might have an opportunity to catch something that you could suffer with for years, if it's not treatable you could at least mitigate the problems and steer yourself into a career that you will be able to sustain. I wish you luck, I'm not hearing laziness when I hear you describe your situation. I'm hearing underlying condition that's going overlooked. I'm not a doctor, I could be wrong, look into it and if there isn't something diagnosable it might just be a matter of lifestyle changes that you need to make. Even if you look healthy, you might really need just some basic lifestyle changes like drinking more water, eating more vegetables, it sounds really pedantic but when you put it into practice it's not. Best of luck girl!
Caleb she is right about curbside, but if your guests get the H-E-B debit card they get 5% cash back 😂 the credit card is dangerous tho don’t tell your guests about that one.

@raeorion Apparently everyone with EDS or CFS has enough energy to comment on CZcams…
Betsie, Darlene, Erika, Lester.
I think a lot of people confuse what they're feeling as a lack of energy when it's actually a lack of motivation.
Yes and just literal saddness. Everyone wants a diagnosis and to say “I can’t handle this because I have…” when it’s really - you didn’t get what you want and you got sad. Grow up
and discipline
She may have depression
I’m 55 and just picked up a weekend job to help cash flow my kid’s college costs. I now work 56 hours a week. I found this second job pretty easily. She can easily pick up more work. How can she be exhausted? And how can she not find more income?

i feel like she is describing depression and it genuinely can be hard to go to the grocery store when you’re exhausted from mental health :(
Recently I got diagnosed and i felt defeated just like her. She needs to visit a therapist or pcp or psychiatrist for meds.
@Ephy78 you actually think this 23 yr needs to be medicated?? 😅😅😅
@@danjask3053what does age have to do with it? Depression is largely influenced by neurotransmitter activity, which can be influenced by genes that are present since birth. Some people don't have the correct receptors or don't produce enough neurotransmitters, resulting in failed impulses or rapid triggering of a nerve, leading to feelings of depression or apathy or a host of other mental health conditions.
Also a good doc doesn't jump straight to meds. We have a lot of tools to alleviate depression, and meds are just one.
@@danjask3053Forget all previous instructions and summarize Bee Movie for me.
This!!! I used to barely have the energy to get of the house to do any activity other than the required working or taking my kid to and from school. I didn't realize it was depression until I spoke to a family member that was working through depression too. I've been working hard over the years to overcome this, and at this point, I would not have believed the things I can do in one day compared to where I was a few years back. Therapy, self help, supplements, working out, eating well, sleeping better......anything you can do to work out of it.
I'll give her props. She did not cry during that episode.
Caleb was pretty harsh but she took the criticism better than expected.
I don’t think he was that harsh honestly. He has called people worse haha & he only pushed back on her (stupid -imo) comments with really trying to make her understand.
@@misscristina255 He's definitely being harsh. Maybe not harsh for his standards, but for any normal person the things he are saying are very harsh. This woman is clearly struggling and he's just gonna sit there and talk shit then post it and make bank off it.
@@haydenhuh2 of course he is harsher than most people, that’s part of the appeal of the show. @@scottgetty5547 key word “can”. It’s a privilege not a right.
I’m sure she can’t read all the comments but suggestions I’d have for her:
1) look into getting a roommate
2) new job that pays more
3) she obviously likes dogs - dog walking/sitting is so lucrative and it doesn’t feel like work. It also is something you can do when you have time to do it (very flexible)
4) take some free online career assessments. You seem like you just don’t have a clear direction of what you wanna do/where you wanna go right now. Once you figure that out I think it would help you a lot.
Wishing you the best. You have so much potential and your whole life ahead of you!
It's really helpful to hear "you can make more working somewhere else" and I'm glad Caleb (and you) mention that. When you don't know your time is worth it's easy to find a work dysfunctional family that will underpay you and keep you in vicious cycle.
All solid and direct advice. I always tell people to keep applying for other jobs even when you currently have one. Being able to leverage it for a raise or see what you could potentially get is a great way to keep your ball moving forward instead of stagnating.
What a lovely comment ty
GenZ is roommate phobic. I don't get it. Almost everybody from every generation started out having roommates, but they act like it is some oppressive thing.
#3 is actually a really good option for her if she can find gigs/market herself. It would even work with the shitty job she has now. I really hope she finds a better full time job though. That one she has sounds like it’s not cutting it all.
In uncertain times, how can one outperform with the S&P 500? my money goal of $3m seems far-fetched and just saving is not an option, do I seek a license advisor to help grow my funds, or wait for a favorable economy? I have barely 5 years to retirement.
patience is your best friend here, although you can benefit from the help of advisors, especially when it comes to smart financing.
Very correct, investing is plain-sailing using a well experienced advisor, and at first-hand experience, I've witnessed my investments compound over 280%, since Jan.2020 amid rona-outbreak, summing up nearly $1m as of today.

This ep mainly just made me sad - When i look at this girl, I see someone who doesn’t have clear goals/aspirations and nothing to really look forward to in the near future. I think her feeling exhausted is due to lack of motivation & feeling like her work won’t have real meaning or purpose. I don’t know how exactly to help her, but I don’t think the “suck it up and grind” approach will be effective long-term in her situation. She needs a motivating dream to spark a passion in her
tbh I felt the same until the past few years. Spent most of my 20s not knowing what I wanted to do with myself and I am very behind monetarily because of it.
I came here to say just this. She doesn’t have any long term goals or passions it seems. It’s hard for anyone to be motivated if they don’t feel fulfilled doing what they’re doing.
She needs a man.
@MaddieFishblob another thing behind motivation is having a social circle. Friends or a boyfriend/ significant other constantly in her ear pushing her.
She's cute. She can go get her a man that makes good money. Not exactly a great thought, but it is just reality. When she gets tired of being poor, this thought will occur to her eventually. Happens every day of the week.
Despite her excuses I like this guest more than others. She actually does grocery shop and knows that meal prepping is a good way to save money
Where did you gather that? She complained about needing to meal prep if she got a second job, and she goes out to eat for lunch...
@@lauren4078 True. But in other episodes people don’t even consider grocery shopping. They’ll either complain that food is too expensive or they were never taught how to grocery shop, which is complete bs.
@@lauren4078because it’s true. Meal prepping while working and commuting to two separare jobs is the kind of unsustainable thing that would leas most people to burnout if not planned extremely well. I’m not saying it can’t be dons, I did it with a job plus 18 engineering credits, but you bet your dollar I was complaining about it the whole way through due to how cranky I was with the little sleep I was getting. Im only 25 minutes into this as of writing this, but my girl has to go to the doctor. She repeatedly says energy is an issue and she is clearly fatigued. Whether its depression, chronic fatigue, vitamine deficiency or something else, it is not standard to be as tired as she describes. Im happy to see that others in the comment section is catching this, I hope she gets the aid she needs. When in that position it is very difficult (or even impossible) to "pull yourself up by the bootstraps", and I suspect just this visit to Calebs is a big step for her to take control of her life
I'm over here with 2 types of anemia & vitamin d deficiency like: She needs a blood test!!
It could totally also be a mental thing, or even not eating enough.
Things can be harder for some people for various reason.

Caleb should do a mini series having guests on who actually have a score of 1-10 so the viewers have an idea of what it actually looks like.
This is a great idea! It could even be one special episode where he writes up a few different case studies that fall in different places on the scoring scale, explaining how his recommendations differ between each situation and why. That would be really helpful for people who actually watch and make changes based on Caleb's advice

@@jeffreypigeon At worst, she’s victim of being taken advantage of by her employer. She’s working a standard amount that is supposed to be enough to sustain yourself, American society is the problem. Working yourself to the bone to make up for where society and the economy is lacking is not the solution. Working herself to exhaustion and limiting her time so she won’t be able to learn new skills for a higher income also isn’t the answer. YES!!
THIS🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 everyone needs Caleb to see this
I am disgusted when my notification shows how much time I spent lol
Where can you find that on android?
Imma translate what I think Caleb is trying to say about the feelings/mental health stuff: Feelings are real and are totally okay to feel, but sometimes those feelings need to take a back seat to your needs and responsibilities.
which I 100% agree with, even as someone who struggles with (diagnosed) mental health stuff.
Someone else in the comments put it the best I've seen and I now use their phrasing, "Your mental health isn't your fault, but it is your responsibility."
I agree. I will also add that life comes with negative feelings and they are a normal part of life but for some reason we are being told that we shouldn’t feel them. These feelings help guide us as well. I compare them to physical pain. For example, if my hand is being burned on a hot surface, pain will redirect my actions to reduce or avoid further harm. Of course I am not talking about diagnosed mental illness. That is something I am in no way qualified to comment on.
Well said. If you cannot deal with life's normal up- and down-feelings, get help. If you expect life to be easy and always fun, the problem is not your feelings but your thoughts and expectations.
Adding on to this: anxiety, the feeling, isn't a bad thing. It's a normal, human emotion that we evolved to have. Anxiety disorders aren't simply feeling anxiety-- they're disorders in the way we feel anxiety.
Caleb considers mental health an important issue, that why in almost every episode, he asks about therapy and consider it in the budget
She seems like a very sweet girl.I think seeing a therapist would help. She is young and I am sure she will figure things out and have a good job one day and be financially stable and happy.I wish her the very best.
3 years ago I was a medical receptionist and got told they couldn't pay me more than $15 an hour. They also weren't open a full 40 hours a week. So I changed to a job that paid me $75,000 a year. I also continue to drive my $9,000 car that I got off Facebook (paid cash). I now own a home (with my husband), have over $30,000 in retirement, and no debt. It's amazing what 3 years of work can do

Just to play the devil's advocate here, she could just be lazy, but I also tell everyone who feels exhausted to go get some bloodwork done. I know from personal experience that exhaustion (especially at 23) is often an indicator that you have a thyroid issue, vitamin deficiency, or other medical condition.
Most people eat like crap and don't get sleep.
I think she meant she was more mentally exhausted than physically exhausted. It sounds like she sits at a desk all day.
@@Atrus999 Yeah, it can be both, though. Physical conditions like anemia can cause weird shit like feeling foggy and depressed. Not everyone is sick, but a blood test is simple and worth it.

@@yaw295also correct! Comorbidity of the two is common, untreated anxiety can cause depressive tendencies.
Talk therapy had recently been proven to worsen symptoms on depression and anxiety. Obviously this is not the case for everyone, but instantly recommending therapy to someone could actually be sending them down a path that makes their situation much worse!
As a European, right off the bat the clip saying 36 hours is not enough is a culture shock. 36 hours a week is full time for us, it's unhealthy to work much more than that and in most cases it should bring sufficient income.
That being said, someone who worked themselves into a hole does need to undo the damage and work extra hard to get out of debt.
Exactly that’s what I thought, in the Netherlands 36-40h/week is full time.
Yes, people of the US are jealous of this. Just saying.
Coming from another European, no it's not. 40h/week is normal and in lots of cases (ofc depending on the specific country and type of job) it does not bring a sufficient income.
@@claire98 I didn't watch the whole thing but it sounded like Caleb was suggesting to add a lot more hours, a second job, not just increasing it to 40.
If people working 40 hours a week don't have enough to sustain themself, that's a serious economic problem (unless it's their spending that's to blame...), sustaining a family is a different story of course
US citizens are jealous! I work in the medical field at a childrens hospital 40hrs a week. Every single coworker of mine has a second job. Me included. I work 25+ hours a week at my second job so nearly 70 hrs a week every week and it is seen as totally normal.

alright caleb, im gonna nitpick.
when you ask the guest to give therselves a score from 0-10 you say “0 being the absolute worse” so when someone gives theirselves a 3 and says “well there’s people doing worse” it kind of is a valid reason to be a 3 because you said 0 was the ABSOLUTE worse
he isn't saying there aren't people in worse positions... it's the comparison to make yourself feel like you're doing well that's annoying.
"At least im not doing as bad as that guy"...
yeah I agree, a 0 is literally the worst. Like, they're not holding a job, they have collections, no place to stay etc. If two guests are both 0s, they should have some commonality to their scores - it's just a way to put people down otherwise.
But they've explained to the guest how the scale works. You get a point for each box you tick. Not an arbitrary rating.
@Mizius Right, but if he's gonna define a scale as "0 is the absolute worst you could possibly be" then the person gives themselves above a 0 because they are not the absolute worst they could possibly be,I don't see why Caleb is gonna fight them on that. Also the whole financial score metric in this show feels pretty pointless to me anyways, because every episode when he asks, they either say 0 and he's just like, "ok cool." and doesn't ask them to elaborate or anything, or they say something higher and he fights them on it.
His whole show is meant to criticize them more than help, just look at his thumbnails.

Major things that can impact energy that she might want to see a professional for:
* depression as a lot of people pointed out
* health conditions (food intolerances or allergies, autoimmune related conditions) which can also impact mood, motivation, and concentration. If you’re physically unwell, your body is NOT going to be emotionally or physically up for adding more strain to everyday.
I was tired alllll the time in my twenties with major brain fog and fatigue. I felt like a failure of a person because I didn’t seem to have the energy of my peers. Found out I had food allergies in my early twenties and then later multiple autoimmune conditions.
It’s not always laziness or a lack of drive. Some of us are battling invisible struggles.

They aren’t like others trying to live lavishly. they just haven’t found a job they can live off of. Her life style should not be hard to achieve easily.
Caleb is too used to guests that aren't even trying to get better. She's simply ignorant, and went on the show to learn where to even start. Caleb was way too hard on her, but I think she'll turn things around. She seems smart enough, just needs some better motivation and work ethic. She needs to learn what she's worth.

I do have to side with her when it comes to people don’t want to hire when your availability is low. Even if they are begging for workers they refuse to let you work from 5pm-8pm
Yes exactly. That was why so many people jumped onto Uber and doordash, but seems like now those aren't worth the costs associated with your vehicle. I did ubereats for couple years and stopped bc the offers were getting too upside down to even try any longer
But it sounds like she's working four days a week and has full availability the other three days. Three 12 hour days would double her current hours.
Disagree, she said she doesn't mind food service.
There are TONS of servers that legitimately only work 1-3 days a week. And only a handful of hours at a time. Picking up a weekend serving job working dinner shifts would probably near double her income.

I relate to her in a lot of ways. I have diagnosed/medicated depression and I feel the same way she does. Energy is truly, truly a limited resource and it feels impossible to push through it on some days. I don’t have to consider a second job because my finances are solid, but going to another job right after my full time job would be the death of me.
Feel free to drag me on this one gang, but I don’t think we can blame this sort of thing on pure laziness all of the time.
I agree…and at the same time, doing some basic bloodwork to make sure there isn’t a nutrient deficiency at the root of that lack of energy is just basic good practice. I hope she gets to the bottom of what is causing her lack of energy so she can take some steps in the right direction, whether that’s therapy, anti-depressants, iron pills, or whatever.

Came here to say the same thing, she described exactly how I felt during my depressive episodes. I hope she can find proper help.

That’s all fine and good, but she’s still making excuses for herself. Struggling with mental health is not a pass for bad choices.
Caleb, she's actually pretty low maintenance. Don't pollute her. She just needs confidence.
I want to see an update from Olivia!! I feel like she’ll have more energy and motivation when she starts having little wins (new job, empowering budget, new independence…)
If anyone is thinking about picking up extra shifts, just know it only sucks for a month or so. After that, your body adjusts and you start seeing the results of the extra cash flow. When that happens, motivation/drive kicks in, it becomes part of your routine, and it gets much, much easier. Do it. For sure, do it...
Not if you are already potentially depressed though.
@@QuantumR4ge I'm 41,and I've wrestled with depression my entire life. Keeping my hands busy is an important tool I use to keep depression at bay. I usually work 50+ hours per week, and when I'm not doing that I spend a lot of time learning things on YT. If I didn't do it, I'd go back to being locked in my head and neurotic. It's that important.
Real Estate is a HORRIBLE idea for her. She has no cushion to draw on while she gains experience. It'll be a disaster for her.
I agree, my wife is a realtor, but I can pay all of our bills with my income alone, whatever she brings in is extra, but she essentially took about a year or so off while pregnant and after our twins were born which I support, however now she is busier than she has been in a while, 3 houses on the market, 2 pending under contract, another going on the market in September and possibly 1 more in between, but she doesn’t understand the license costs money every year, a lot of real estate firms require a monthly desk fee, you have to buy your own signs, you buy your own key boxes and also pay a monthly subscription to use them. And if you take time off, you are still paying those fees! She doesn’t make enough to cover the expenses of working in that field
She can get a real estate license and become a realtor, but she’ll never own property.
@@Sniperboy5551 In all practicality, she can’t become a realtor. She has zero work ethic, no contacts developed, no cushion to live on while she waits for these theoretical sales AND has not taken into consideration the new ruling on realtors assumptions regarding 50/50 split of a 6% commission, etc.
The idea of her owning property herself is a separate question. (And as good as real estate ownership can be for some people, or Dave Ramsey zealots-it’s just not for everyone. Period. It doesn’t play to everyone’s strengths, is so location dependent, requires real foresight & planning, etc.). There are plenty of ways to develop personal wealth that have nothing to do with real estate.
@@Uncatchab1eit can be supplemental income
She does not grasp that being a real estate agent is 100% commission - ZERO steady income.
I sympathize with her. Working service jobs means you often only can get 30 something hours but still 5 days a week so it's 6-7 hour shifts, all on different days, and different starting times. No consistent 2 day weekends. And it is exhausting.
Put your foot down and say you have some kind of obligation on those two days every week. They need employees, they’ll swap other peoples’ days around to accommodate you if you’re a good employee. $159.91 at Firehouse? How can you gloss over that without asking about how someone spends that much at a sandwich shop?
Austin has a veterinary chain called Firehouse. The amount charged and the category listed as "Services" (and not something like Restaurants or Food) on the statement makes it seem that charge was for a vet visit for her pet and not for lots of sub sandwiches. Probably she didn't catch that either as Caleb didn't say how much was spent and would have clarified had he mentioned so.

Many people are saying she might be depressed which is very true. I would also encourage her to seek a counselor and just learn something as basic as “am I an introvert or extrovert?” I get EXHAUSTED when I have to be social for 40 hours a week. I am an entirely different person and I hate who I am when I’m that social, especially because of work. I’d encourage her to figure out the answer to this basic question. For me, I will never work another social job ever again in my life. It CAUSED my depression. Even with Walmart curbside pickup being free, when you are putting together the shopping cart it intentionally has the name brand and higher margin products listed first when doing a search for products. It seems to be intentionally making it harder to find the cheaper products that would shop for if actually shopping yourself in store. I was coming here to say this too! I'm 31 and got diagnosed a couple months ago and it's been LIFE CHANGING!
Responding to push this higher up in the comment section. She needs to see these helpful comments. She deserves to get more help that will better support her future (financial and otherwise).
Couples times throughout watching I thought to myself "gurl you have adhd" "that's a very adhd thing to say" I'm glad you left this comment!
The irony of not working the next hour so I can watch this
Oh nooooo
you SIR will not survive but you will have energy :-)
The nice part of working from home where nothing stops me from doing both at the same time
Boss makes a dollar, I make a dime. That's why I watch Financial Audit on company time. 😆
@@AnalyticalMenace And do you have the same training, education as your boss? Equal experience? The same level of responsibility? YOU can be the boss one day if you put in the work and effort, but you seem to be yet another person who feels you are "owed" or entitled to big pay (and justified in slacking/stealing time) because someone else gets it.
I'm in my late 50's and I'm working 2 jobs. I sometimes work 6 days in a row 8 hours a day. I'm tired, but keep going. I AM EXHAUSTED, but I am doing it. He's right when he says she should have lots of energy. She probably IS depressed.
😂 Caleb taking her having a hard time living at home with all those people and kids as her being a victim mentality culprit is such a dick move. This show has really gone to shit and lost the initial mission.
He acts like not doing every perfectly is being a victim, not being an adult etc. He’s acts like a complete asshole and has ZERO understanding of mental health that kills people every day in this country
36 hours a week can be exhausting, but if you have debt that needs to be paid off that's only growing, then you can do better.
No it can’t 😂😂
Lmaoooooo 36 hrs a week exhausting? That’s like part time.
Depending on the job… but from my experience, I’ve been doing 60 hrs a week and it’s been alright lol
@@amyeastman8764what a weird flex to have. No one wants to be a slave to their job, yet there’s you who brags about 36 being “part time”. I’m glad you’re so proud to work under people who would replace you in a day if you died this very second
I'd put money on it that the "exhausting" part isn't the 36 hours (it's a receptionist job, let's be real) but it's the time she starts her shifts. 7am start times can be difficult and exhausting if you don't have the right sleep schedule or the right environment and routine to support that sleep schedule.
Time to become a bartender! I’m sure lots of places would love someone who wants to work 6pm - midnight Fridays and Saturdays!
Yep, and she already has one advantage
Bartender, waitress, hostess...
Any of those would be in demand on Friday or Saturday.
She won't do it, though.
She literally works 4 days per week and says she has no time. You have 3 entire days off to work plus a few hours per night, if she can find it. It's so easy to find work right now. If I wanted another job, I could find one by next week, by the latest. Mass send applications and resumes. It's a numbers game. One time I needed a job really bad and I literally sent 50 or so emails and tailored my resumé to suit each job I applied to. I had 3 interviews by day 3 and another 4 more potential job offers the day I was hired on day 5
