So after a lot of experiments I finally managed to make rolled ice cream at home and it was worth the time it took to figure it out. Rolled ice cream is great fun to make at parties. Just ask your friends and family what they'd like in theirs and then chop the ingredients and make ice cream rolls. They are super yummy.

Also, if you have access to the chemistry department of a university and/or you know someone in the department (preferably faculty), you can also get liquid nitrogen.

This is a two year old video but I’ve only been recommended this today but I was surprised that Ann didn’t put any safety warnings - PLEASE, if you try this at home, BE CAREFUL! Dry ice is extremely dangerous to be handled with bare skin!! You should handle it with special gloves and take care to not touch the dry ice with bare skin contact! Dry ice is so cold that it can permanently damage your skin if you have direct skin contact with it for more than a ew seconds!!! So if you try this recipe at home, please handle the dry ice with care!!!!

@@justaaronmkay5650 'general knowledge' has to come from somewhere, nobody was born knowing it. Someone who hasn't had a reason to deal with dry ice before (i.e. the vast majority of the population) may not be aware. For me Myriam's warning triggered a vague old memory about something similar from visiting a science museum as a child (the last time I had anything to do with dry ice and even then it was watching a demonstration at a distance) and I thought 'extreme cold is dangerous? That makes sense' but it hadn't occurred to me because safety precautions around dry ice is not a useful piece of information to keep at the forefront of my mind.
Can i use normal ice tho?
Whenever I look at this channel's videos my mind always goes like: "god this woman is a genius"

OMG just made these for father's day for the family. My dad loved them! I unfortunately only had double wall insulated baking pans and they DID NOT get cold enough to freeze the ice cream all the way through. We compensated by switching to a pizza tin (single layer) and putting a plastic bag of dry ice on top as well as on the bottom, to speed up the freezing process. Everyone thought your ice cream base was the most delicious thing ever, even the super picky eaters who were there. We're did the following mix in combos: blueberry peach; strawberry fudge; Nutella, cool whip, strawberry; Choco dipped cookies and fudge; and fudge marshmallow. All were huge hits and everyone got a kick out of the process and the customization. Thanks so much for this tutorial! 😍😍😍

Common qu: where can I buy dry ice? Here in australia boc gas (take an esky to put it in and remember you can't store it so only buy just before you are going to use it). Elsewhere google 'buy dry ice (and your city)' it is used for a lot of things. 😀

One thing I would say for Americans is to check your local grocery store. I know Meijer usually has a dry ice cooler near Customer Service with big slabs of dry ice. I've had to buy it for science demos. And DRY ICE CURLING!
Safety tips though: Usually best to handle with some sort of winter gloves. Also, wherever you're located, be careful about getting dry ice out of a chest so you don't inhale the pure Carbon Dioxide fumes (which could make you suffocate)

Yeah I always got it at the grocery store. It’s in the same area as the regular bagged ice if I remember correctly.

A Russian channel called UmeloeTV had a recipe that worked for me. The secret was to use regular milk or cream, your filling and a tablespoon or two of sweetened condensed milk. As soon as the host added the condensed milk, chopped everything and froze it for about 30 kinutes on the tray, having spread the paste out first of course.
I went to Thailand last year and had rolled ice-cream for the first time.I never knew it was a thing and came back and told my friends and they already knew what it was. I find it amazing and I want to make some. Thanks for a great video
