I mean its like every 2nd team. Look at Haas, Look at Ferrari. I'm sure Horner at worst said something mildly inappropriate, but the Marco + Verstappen faction is trying to push him out of the team he built up.
We can only hope that RB doesnt give in to that bs. Max Verstappen might be good, but RB only was ever successful because of Horner, and that goes beyong Verstappen.

You've got a few things wrong here. Red Bull GMBH didn't reveal the investigation into Horner's behavior until after the news was leaked and appeared in the media. This isn't really surprising... Red Bull GMBH is a privately held company. They have no requirements to make public disclosures to stockholders. In addition, this is a HR matter. Employee privacy, from the CEO on down is protected by UK and EU law. Red Bull can't simply make the details of the investigation public. All the calls for "transparency" from figures in the sport like Wolff and Brown are just attempts to further destabilize Red Bull. They know Red Bull can't legally disclose the information unless both Horner and his accuser both allow it to happen. As for FOM or the FIA, they have no say whatsoever. Red Bull GMBH surely understands the optics of suspending the accuser (something they only confirmed after that news was also leaked) so you can figure they did it for a good reason. If her complaint was not found to be valid that could be a reason as could the leaking or fabricating of evidence. She's free to appeal that decision and she's also free to take legal action against Red Bull Racing in the UK Employment Tribunal or in court. We will all have to wait and see what happens.

    • @Ogole-oye

Thank you. There's also this gross overstated self importance from the public to think that unless they are in the know of a private matter l, then it's not transparent. Transparency argument only holds weight if the persons involved in the investigation felt the processes were otherwise, but for the rest on the outside, while we want to know we really dont need to know. We are not the gatekeepers of transparency.

Based on the conversations going around, it looks like Max has an exit clause out of his contract without Marko. Max appears to be firmly on Marko's side and Red Bull will be very cautious on how they approach this. Ideally, Red Bull would like for this whole mess to be settled without anyone going. However, if someone goes, I don't think they're going to risk losing Max.
That being said, Newey is such a major player in Red Bull's success and hasn't really taken a firm side. If Newey comes out clearly in Horner's camp then Red Bull will basically have to choose between Newey and Verstappen. I think Newey is more important over short term but he's 65 years old so it's hard to say how long he'll want to keep doing this.

Read about how he treated Max as a child, along with the actual physical abuse he did against Max’s mom as well as Jos’ girlfriend and you’ll see the monster that he is. Allegedly, the accuser has dated Jos off and on. The more you investigate this the more you’ll see that Horner is actually doing what’s best for Red Bull Racing and Red Bull gmbh. The Porsche deal was not good fit, as Porsche wanted too much control. Setting up RBPT after acquiring the Honda power unit intellectual property was a genius move by Horner as well. This was all a set up to try and remove Horner but it backfired. Hope he stays with the team for 20 more years. And Max, I’m a fan but if he wants to go let him. Agree that Jos is a be d-bag, especially after he flat out accused Hamilton of using PED out of nowhere and with no evidence in 2021. Till this day, I am still surprised this story wasn't covered as much as it should have been and that Jos didn't get the huge backlash he deserves for it.
But the more ai follow this story, the more I think it is all about Marko. Everyone knows he is a very toxic person, but those around him stay loyal to him for all the favors he did for them, especially the RB Junior Academy. I think RB are desperately trying to get rid of him because of his toxicity, but he is striking back by using those loyal to him and going after Horner as a counterattack. Jos is just contributing in Marko's plan and Max feels he owns a lot to Marko so he goes along with it.
I dont see how the majority holders at RB would let Horner go unless he really did something bad for the company's reputation. However, I think it is jus a matter of time for Marko to get kicked out. These are moves of desperation by his camp, and you only do that when you feel really threatened.

He is also right when he said, HE is the TEAM LEADER and anyone within the team can be replaced but I don't think one can replace the team leader and expect the same results longterm.
My theory with the power struggle is that Christian wants to be an owner and not just the CEO. Christian has made this team VERY profitable and also winning! I think he just wants a piece and to me it is not far fetched based on the amount of investment and risk being taken within the last 10yrs in order to WIN and make the brand he runs VERY PROFITABLE. 2026 is another year with new engine regs and IF he makes this work as well, you CANNOT deny that he may even be the most successful team principal on the grid no once that team stays within the top three on track.

Any big figure that holds a lot of say like Dietrich being gone would almost always attract a power struggle to seize the power vacuum. Felt like it was only a matter of time that a power struggle explodes, and all it took was one spark (the harassment allegations) to start the explosion. The lack of details in the investigation is just weird considering full disclosure is kind of a given in an investigation, and maybe the lack of transparency is what further fanned the flames of the matter because there's so much uncertainty that people start speculating.
With how things are, the whole mess looks more like a witch hunt of people who may or may not be in the wrong. At this point the matter is already way bigger than just the allegations because people left right and center are making use of the situation to shoot at each other. And if people ask why they're doing that, they can just shrug their shoulders and say X person started it.
Who would have thought that after 2023, Red Bull could risk losing Christian, Max, Helmut, and Adrian leading up to 2026. At this point I think it's more of a mutually assured destruction thing that someone could put their foot down and just outright say they should leave (with Adrian leaving on his own). If all of them leave, Red Bull will likely start 2026 on the back foot and maybe could end up in a same situation pace-wise like Mercedes now.

If Max is so aligned with Helmut, and that side of the camp. I actually think they are the ones who will gain the upper hand and staying, if they are supported by the Austrian owners. Horner is more likely to be ousted if this is the case. Newey has never liked these kind of politics, so 50/50% if he chooses to go or leave. People make accusations and raise grievances all the time in big businesses.
I'm sure everyone is aware of a time where someone has made false allegations.
The accusations weren't even super serious either. From what we know at worst he sounds like a 'controlling micro manager'.

    1. Christian Horner disrespected his wife by flirting with employee.
    2. There is no evidence that he sexually harassed her hence why the internal investigation cleared him.
    3. The media leak was manipulated because there was omissions in between the texts which leads to a possibility it was a honey plot against Horner.
    4. The female employee got suspended by Red Bull despite the fact that they knew it would cause uproar which means they likely found reason to do so.
    5. If she was scarred of Horner because of how POWERFUL he is, she could have taken this matter to the courts rather than to the HR in the first place.
    6. Jos Verstappen is more than likely using this as an opportunity to get Max out of Red bull before the next set of regulation changes as he quite possibly think Ford is not up to competition in the future.
    7. There have been reports of Thai ownership wanting to put Red Bull racing and technology under a separate division with Horner running it which the Austrian wing doesn't like.
    8. The remaining F1 teams are using this opportunity to destabilise the team as much as they can to poach their talents.
    9. British Media and Italian media, two of the most toxic factions in all of news industry is having a field day with this because British media always had it against Red Bull meanwhile Italian media is playing wing man for Ferrari.
    10. All of this is happening under the premise that Horner DID sexually harass the employee when that hasn't been established.

Newey is already late to that show. He most likely need to take gardening leave for at least a season. So there is more urge for him, max wouldn't mind race next year but after that he might really want to move on. But the seat swaps happening in F1, if I would bet on a new engine Mercedes got it right last time so would be my bet for Max to go to. Just that next season is still a World Championship potential car (most likely)

If RB fires Horner, I think it will have an effect likr Alpine has now after they fired Otmar Szafnauer with sporting director Alan Permane, technical director Matt Harman and head of aerodynamics Dirk de Beer all departing Alpine over the last 12 months. How many mechanics and fabrication people have left Alpine as well?
There will be those in the shop who DO support Horner and if he is fired (especially after RB says he was cleared), they will walk out also, taking their expertise with them.
UK and European laws are different than ours in the US. We've grown accustomed to knowing every little detail about who did what to whom that we can't stand to NOT know details. The laws that cover this investigation don't allow details to be given to the public unless ALL parties agree to it. Why would Horner agree to allow information out after he was cleared? I wouldn't. This was an internal HR situation that was investigated by outside investigators, Horner was cleared. The accuser apparently made false allegations, was found out, and was terminated. Which is what should happen.
But we THINK we need all the juicy details. We don't.
If Max leaves, he may won more championships before he retires.
If Horner leaves, RB will become a rear to midfield team. It will be YEARS before they'll be a front runner again.
Just my 2 cents. I could be wrong, I've been wrong before.

      @LunnarisLP Před 2 měsíci +2

I mean Checo is a decent enough driver. And he isnt even top notch. Max was hardly pulling away from him in Saudi Arabia, so if we put a different driver that is actually really good like Sainz, who funny enough is looking for a seat for 2025 into that car, then I'd not be surprised if Redbull would do just as well.
And yeah we can put Max into the Mercedes then, okay. But is he actually superior to Russell in pace? I personally dont think so. Yeah he is the more experiences driver and especially his consistency is very good, but then again being consistent is much easier if your car is miles ahead of everyone and your teammate isnt performing compared to fighting tough battles with Ferrari and Mclaren every race.
Max Verstappen in my eyes is very overrated. He got 1 title because the race director gifted it to him and 2 titles because RB nailed their aero concept on ground effect cars.
Lets not forget that Checo was a driver that was basically sorted out before RB took him in. He was named with Magnussen, Ricciardo, Hulkenberg and Grosjean. Doesnt mean he cant perform or is a terrible driver not deserving of a F1 seat, but surely he isnt some top notch talent wanted by top teams.
Of course we can pretend that Verstappen is simply that good of a driver, but realistically speaking its rather Perez being worse than Verstappen being great.
So yeah I'd be happy to see if Verstappen can actually deliver any kinda performance if he is with a different team and car. I personally have my doubts.

The more I follow this story, the more I think it is all about Marko. He was probably under Mateschits protection, but when he died, RB saw the perfect opportunity to get rid of him. Jos is just contributing to Marko's plan, and Max is very unfluenced by his dad and he feels he owns a lot to Marko, so he goes along with it.
I dont see how the majority holders at RB would let Horner go unless he really did something bad for the company's reputation. However, I think it is just a matter of time for Marko to get kicked out. These are moves of desperation by his camp, and you only do that when you feel really threatened.
