The peak of NileRed's sanity in a whole 1 minutes short
When he broke the galss, he did the meme “oh no… anyway”
Jeremy Clarkson would be proud
I never realized that calcium was a metal either.
But what I found amusing is that's why it is safely stored in this class ampule precedes to smash said ampoule with hammer.
I think you should have probably said something like Hulk smash or some other something with the Avengers 4 have something about Thor and his hammer there's got to be a thing out there for Thor's hammer I'm sure somewhere in the wild.
Or perhaps Hulk get Thor!
I did not realize even that calcium would release hydrogen when combined with water.
I think everyone knows the reaction of acid and zinc releasing hydrogen also this is much more violent reaction I believe that but it's been awhile since I've seen the acid reaction and I think we used the gas generators set up in the lab when I was in school to generate hydrogen gas!
In school it was kind of cool because my teachers knew that I was capable of what more and could do some more dangerous things and most students could safely do and I was even allowed to do some science demonstrations in lab.
For example I said as in like used on his last legs and they said exactly I said let me guess are you going to do a bunch of microwave experiments he said correction that I was I'm like you mean for science the teacher said exactly as long as I did these for all the classes as well.
He knew I was planning to build something from a discarded microwave anyways and Salvage a few parts so he thought that hey good excuse to go ahead and get the microwave!
If it blows amili experiment no problem then asked if I could have a second Reserve microwave just in case!
And yes we did the classic microwave plasma experiment as well.
And some of the more astute student says why couldn't they use a fluorescent to somewhat similar to a normal one but minus the ballast and and all to light up the microwave when it was running instead of having the light bulb.
I actually had wondered. The same myself at one time!
Also I brought in an Old Guard encounter once when we were doing the unit on radioactivity I mention it to that science teacher that I had an old one but I was not able to get ahold of old and pretty much obsolete batteries he said oh we can take care of that!
Also I fired up an old carbide lamp as well I mentioned I had one and wanted to see if I can get going and he said that I could do that as an extra credit project and if I need help working on it possibly do it in shop class.
There was actually one time as our friends house showing it off you remembered his Grande talk about using carbide to get acetylene gas fuel in the old days.
He had never seen a carbine land / Lantern the interesting thing is about an hour after the demo or more I had just put enough to rent for a little bit turns out the power went out and the flashlight was going out word up so he got the carbon plants and used to get those power came back on#
The demo turning into a real use that's one for the books!
I did have access to the labs at school at all of course under supervision I was able to do some things that most people would probably consider too dangerous for a student.
He even asked me if I'd heard about certain things such as how oven cleaner can eat through aluminum or at least types of oven cleaners.
And he asked if I wanted to do a demonstration to demonstrate why you should always make sure to read and follow all instructions on a product it was set up like that I didn't know what was going to do no I did just to show that you should always pay attention to precautions and everything and not just start using something without paying attention.
And yeah show some cool science in the process.
And also I remember when we are doing the electrolysis experiments with water she knew that I would not giveaway this little surprise that we had planned.
Essentially left electrolysis rig he had me deliberately reversal leads a few X so that instead of just hydrogen and oxygen into separate test tubes a mix of hydrogen and oxygen and of course I was in on this but no one else was he let me know before the class started!
Also I do love personal projects and stuff and repairs and school and I did not even know this but I was being graded for everything even if I was repairing something to say in shop class.
There is times in shop class I do I have a soldering iron out doing a repair on a tool or piece of equipment.
We have the old metal stools sometimes I'd be willing to things back together they had a tendency to break at certain joints.
I was even repairing with cafeteria tables once in shop class both of their welding and we're fixing the top and putting on new casters!
Actually wanted Moonlighting on maintenance somewhat as well had a couple job offers when I had graduated unfortunately did not work out for me but I could have been doing maintenance or possibly other duties around school

"which is why its safely stored and protected in this glass ampule"
"well, how do you open i- oh ok thats how"
You’re supposed to open ampules by melting them but that works too
@@lennonmclean Applying enough heat to melt glass might not be so good when it contains flammable metal. Also not good when it contains microorganisms that you need to recover alive -- I work in a microbiology lab, and I hate when ATCC sends us microorganisms this way -- you're supposed to heat the ampule up and cool it suddenly to cause fracture by thermal stress (so, short of melting), and judging by the results it still kills many of them, as well as making a broken glass hazard and a hazard of contaminating the sample.
