- Tu Lam, a former Special Forces soldier, rates the fighting techniques Keanu Reeves uses in the "John Wick" movies. He talks about judo and jujitsu, sniper techniques, and the ways public missions are handled in "John Wick," with Alfie Allen, Willem Dafoe, and John Leguizamo. He explains how suppressors work, the best ways to handle a knife, and how to turn anything in a room into a weapon, as seen in "John Wick: Chapter 2," with Common, Ruby Rose, and Laurence Fishburne. He compares his own experiences with urban shootouts, working with military dogs, and fighting on a motorcycle to "John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum," with Halle Berry, Ian McShane, and Anjelica Huston. Finally, he breaks down defensive driving, clearing a room, and fighting on stairs in "John Wick: Chapter 4," with Bill Skarsgård and Donnie Yen.

Army Special Ops Rates Every 'John Wick' Movie | How Real Is It | Insider
I hope to see mr. Lam analysing more action movie scenes in the future.
Just the fact he uses a two handed grip on his pistol and has to stop to reload makes The John Wick films more realistic than 90% of action movies.
ME: [mouth full of nachos] yeah, what he needs to do is maximize coverage
I think what youre missing Mr. Lam is John Wick is a man of focus, dedication and sheer will
I love how Keanu basically created his own reload style on the movies not only is he’s the kindest person to exist but also talented and handsome
As much as I enjoy these videos, I will never go to a John Wick movie looking for realism 😂
I though I recognized Tu Lam, then I realised he was my personal COD skin, such a cool way to find out he is a real person!
I enjoy John Wick because it blends an enjoyable amount of realism while still giving it the Hollywood flair. It makes it a good watch.
First guy to give actual real low ratings. Respect for that and explaining your points
"John is a man of focus, commitment, sheer will... something you know very little about. I once saw him kill three men in a bar... with a pencil, with a @#$%#^@ pencil."
When I was doing my training in the British Army we did hand to hand combat training with white T shirts on and marker pens. No matter how strong you were, no matter how quick you were, no matter how well you mastered the techniques, everyone was covered in marker pen. These pens represented knives. The exercise was to point of the sheer futility in entering into a knife fight, and that it should only ever be a final resort, both parties will end up with fatal wounds.
I just finished my 27 hour movie about a sniper mission. Test audiences absolutely hate it. Mr. Lam: I give it a 10 out of 10 for realism.
Man, this was one of my favorite "How Real Is It" episodes. He is, obviously, knowledgeable, but also did a great job explaining everything.
overall comment: Keanu is a beast
Tu Lam's backstory is incredible. His mother saved his life leaving Vietnam. He was only a baby.
Tu Lam is an absolute LEGEND. Someday I hope to take just one of his classes. He's a real one.
I actually got to meet tu lam one time and i can personally say he is super kind, humble and overall a really great person
I think Tu Lam's biceps mocked me several times during the video 🤔
Love how he doesn’t use huge highly unnecessary tactical language for 90% of the vid like almost every other tactical video on CZcams. Once he makes a point he just ends the sentence like a normal person.
Been watching tu lam for years now. He’s a fantastic teacher and an endless source of knowledge on subjects such as this. Love to see this crossover, great stuff guys
