i think putting down one or two tps could've helped a lot, also putting a fort in the middle of his base during the push with the cav probably would've been an instant game ender

I'd actually advocate for building all of the three standard military production buildings for Rio Grande and get veterancy on soldados as well as chinacos, upgrade them as soon as the revolt's come in. It makes all the unit shipments in Rio Grande sooo much better when every Mexican unit you ship is guard upgraded. There's also a state card that gives double the amount of gold crates and a free veteran upgrade for the barracks (which I would recommend to spend on the soldados upgrade of course).

I felt like past 30 mins Lukas got tired, he wasn't spreading his Bersagliere anymore. Kinda lost some apm there. Good game from both btw, Lukas just refused to die until he did.

I'm wondering if it would be worth macroing for Cry of Dolores upgrade (1200 res) before revolting and timing it with your push into his base. The upgrade affects your Padre to heal in COMBAT for 20 seconds for 20 hit points a second regardless if he's moveing/attacking in an area of 35 (thats more range than a culv).
Its a great tech but that is a lot of res and just way too slow

yeah you can spam 8 vills and spam guard soldaddies and vigilantes as well, anything you want
Staying in Age 3 for a long time is the easiest way to make use of Rio Grande.
You get to make use of the free Guard upgrades and your economy will be strong enough you will likely be able to rejoin Mexico 🌯 in reasonable time.
Plus, you can pick options with more late game potential like picking Querétaro or Tlaxcala if you do not rush it.

Actually revolutionaries do more damage to veteran musk (revolutionaries have 30% range resistance).
Pretty sure they have melee armour
Backseating here, reckon Lukas would have been served well making cav. Revolutionaries are decent against cav, but not really all that great. 20 in hand and ~35 in ranged is really pretty mediocre, especially with Industrial unit stats.
A bunch of huss IMO would have served him much better against your combo - far less vulnerable to the cannon, and the revolutionaries just kinda suck in general (huss in melee -> ~50damage * 1.5 for an industrial Hussar vs a revolutionary doing at best 20 * 1.5, and the huss would have twice the hp to boot)
He made some papal lancers, and they were pretty good to tank or deal damage, either vs revolutionaries or to snipe artilery. And some earlier cav whould also allow him to raid, Lionheart never lost a land villager because the action was always on Lukas side
The safest unit would be Falconets, as they counter revolutionaries and trade evenly with Falconet-like artillery due to being the same thing.
They are more effective when used defensively 🛡, so they are even a soft counter to themselves.
If he used cav to raid that would have been very effective
@@UniDocs_Mahapushpa_Cyavana Depends on micro, I guess. We saw Lukas pull out culv after culv and just getting wrecked anyway. That being said, falcs would be way more useful vs the CM, so that's a solid argument for them.
I wonder why Lukas didn't try to build one or two monitors once he had the water to snipe out the factory. Would not that make all the difference when he had the better eco?

If Lukas had 20 guard hussars, he would have won. This artillery fights usually go bad for the countering side.
