    Which symbol from the first episode of The Lost Symbol should we take a closer look at next?

      Kinda curious about that word "vitriol" its meaning on the wall and placement over the stone and just how water was suppoed to create a chemical reaction producing hand holds.
      And lets not talk about how this guy got a crushing wall in his chamber unless the founding fathers built it there.

    Thank you for this as I really enjoyed your presentation and the show itself. My vote would be to hear more about the circumpunkt symbol as it seemed to have a lot of meaning to it for the simplicity of the symbol design.

      The Leviathan Cross is composed of two ancient symbols. On the one hand from the double cross, which stands for protection, freedom of choice and balance. And on the other hand from the infinity sign that stands for tireless strength and limitlessness.

    Great breakdown! Awesome to get JPL on for my fav symbol so far-the Leviathan Cross. Would love to hear a further breakdown or your thoughts on the mixing of alchemical symbolism being added to the Masonic symbolism. E.g. one says we break off parts of ourselves, the other implies distillation to get to the prima materia… two sets of allegorical instructions. Notably, the alchemical VITRIOL isn’t let of the system it seems. Would love to hear your thoughts on this! Thanks for the great episode!

      Thanks RJ! Had a great chat with JPL. Should have it out this weekend. Going to try to produce these in 2 ways: one very accessible for non-Masons and one more esoterically minded for brothers.
      Have to have you on to chat about it too. See you later tonight.

    What does "KCCH" stand for? When you use acronyms, please take the time to define them for your listeners. Thank you.

    • @ScottishRiteMasons
      @ScottishRiteMasons  Před 2 lety

      I’ve actually mentioned this in a couple videos. This may warrant its own video in fact.
      KCCH stands for Knight Commander of the Court of Honour. It’s an honorary rank bestowed upon Scottish Rite Masons who have been in the fraternity for several years and have performed extraordinary service to the Craft. It is by election. Every two years, the existing KCCH members in a given Valley (local chapter) vote on who the new KCCH members will be. Only a few are elected each year.

  • @SteelWolf13
    @SteelWolf13 Před 2 lety +1

    Also he was not using the standard Masonic Cypher. I have that one memorized for doing the craft for York Rite. 16:08 There we go. Correct.

    • @ScottishRiteMasons
      @ScottishRiteMasons  Před 2 lety

      There are a gazillion versions of that cipher. Some use a shifted alphabet in addition to the character replacement. Some use the X grid in between the tic tac toe boards instead of at the end. The idea is the same. And not exclusive to masonry. York Rite does “teach it” a particular way. I’m sure there are variations from state to state tho.

    You need to have been a 32 degree for a minimum of 4 years before you can earn your 32 KCCH red hat. Then you need to be a red had for another 4 years before you can qualify for 33 degree white hat.

      It’s actually a little less than that, and as of the last Biennial session the number of months changed a little, making it less. The reason is that various orients elect their honourmen at different times if the year. But you’re essentially correct. It’s about 4 years

      I’m working on something with Mount Vernon on the pic. And the wall carvings are not S & Cs but I thought they were at first glance too! Trivial tidbit- this is Solomons house. Not the House of the Temple. But the old-school push button light switches are all over the House of the Temple.
