The Inner Critic In Your Head Lies

  • It can be difficult to spot the lies and inconsistencies of the Inner Critic in your head. Or what I call the Judge. That's because it tries to get you to focus on the parts it says that are half true. The problem is that the half-lies are so damaging to your emotional state and mindset that it is not worth the exchange.
    Changing or getting rid of the Judge voice of your internal dialog can be done. It will require that you dismantle many of the unconscious beliefs you have acquired that the Judge is woven with. It is worth the effort. The process I've created to do this is at my Self Mastery Course pathwaytohappiness.com/self_m...

    Are inner critic voices linked to schizophrenic voices?

    • @garyvanwarmerdam1206
      @garyvanwarmerdam1206  Před 5 lety +3

      No inner critic voices are not like schizophrenic, or other voices in our head. There is a lot of misunderstanding on this. First, most people hear voices. For starters, we "hear" our own thinking, even though it doesn't make a sound to our ears. Most of that thinking or hearing voices people identify with as their thinking. When a person is more conscious they can perceive that their mind "thinks" or has thoughts by itself. Most of those thoughts are benign, harmless, or can even be helpful. In Tibetan see these voices as mental companions, and can even be helpful or neutral, or sometimes berating or verbally mean like the Judge or Inner Critic". I am not a clinician, but when those voices become dangerous to follow, and instruct people to harm themselves or others is when things change. And even then, many people have had suicidal thoughts, but they aren't going to act on them. We can all have thoughts of violence. Our minds create images and thoughts of all sorts. I feel the schizophrenic situation is only applicable when those thoughts are instructions to harm, and a person is unable or has difficulty refraining from acting on it. Then professional help should be sought. For most people you can just see a thought as just a thought, which is a small thing, one of many during the day, and doesn't define a person's state of being. If you really pay attention, you will notice that the mind is really saying nonsense most of the day.

      @@garyvanwarmerdam1206 Thank You for answering my Question. I have another. What about a person who can hear friends voices criticizing them or laughing with them kind of like they are there with you but not in real life. Is this heard of? Is this something that happens to other people?

    • @garyvanwarmerdam1206

      So now we get into an area that is difficult to measure and be sure of what is happening because it can be a couple different things. I see these three as possible, but can't prove any of it. We can hear our own thoughts. In that way our mind is like a radio receiver of our own thought broadcast. Then, it is possible that we can pick up thoughts from the collective unconscious. These are like thoughts hanging in the air. Much like radio waves can be picked up by radio, your mind can hear thoughts broadcasting in the collective unconscious. It is like we are swimming in a stew of dreams out there and we can hear them. I suppose it is possible that we can hear the transmissions of others thoughts. However, to do this clearly, your own mind would need to be silent, and you would need to filter out the collective unconscious. These two, usually drown out thoughts of other people. It may be that you are hearing thoughts from your own unconscious beliefs, but are attributing them to others. So that is the realm of somethings possible that I consider.

      @@garyvanwarmerdam1206 so this can explain why I have never heard my own voice but only my thoughts in the voice of people I know. My voice is silent. My thoughts are in the voices of people I have felt betrayed by.

      @@jahmelafellix9183 It is more likely that you are hearing your own thoughts, from your sub-conscious, and projecting that they are coming from other people.
