"Whistling at night" attract bad spirits is also found in Javanese culture in Indonesia. It's a "tool" from older people so we dont whistle at night, disturb the neighbor
We have it in Turkey too. Its really interesting that so many people around the world thought that whistling can attract bad spirits.
Same thing here in Maharashtra , India
There's something similar in Tuvalu I heard about. Apparently if you hear whistling outside at night, you should go outside and see because it is spirits talking to each other.
So maybe spirit like whistling? I dunno

One of those Surinamese living in diaspora in The Netherlands is Jeangu Macrooy, who was the Dutch representative to the Eurovision Song Contest hosted in Rotterdam this year. (He was also going to represent them last year, but that contest was understandably canceled.)
The song was sadly one of (an unbelievable) four that got zero points from the voting public. :(

That superstition about walking backwards... We do it whenever we come back from a funeral to make sure the spirit is not following us... Does anyone else do that?
