    Just got my 2022 Tucson hybrid SEL Convenience (USA spec) a week ago.
    The protective plastic is everywhere even after it was prepped and detailed!
    One funny spot for the plastic was on the steering wheel..
    I could barely see it.
    It was on the 6 o' clock position, and is like a rounded off rectangle.
    Ill bet lots of people miss it!
    My brother bought his a few months before I got mine and his had the same thing.
    Its kind of silly to talk about it, but it shows just how many plastic film pieces are used in the rig.
    Just as you said.

In fact they let her drive 300 miles in "snow mode " through the desert, until I caught it when she got home 300 miles later. I reset her Hybrid mileage so when she can track mileage tomorrow as she heads back to visit her parents. Now she knows to do ECO mostly and I hope her MPGs go up to the 38 MPG level.

    I'm not sure if I would buy a car with a "tire mobility kit". I've had flats with the two Hyundai I've previously owned, but not on the Genesis I drive now. When I bought the Genesis, they had the wrong Genesis floor mats in it, in a bag. (wrong location snap holes). I caught it before leaving the dealer. Besides that, all three cars were pretty well set up.
    PS. I try to keep everything under the hood, looking new and clean.

    • @edsgarage001
      @edsgarage001  Před 2 lety +1

      On regular hybrids, the vehicle decides when best to run on pure electricity, as the battery is only large enough to allow electric driving for short stints that last only a few minutes at best.
      *Some* hybrids from other brands have the option to manually switch to all electric for very short periods... However in practice it actually doesn't make much sense to do so. Doing so, you run the risk of damaging your Hybrid battery by running it too low, as it's just too small for that type of repeated operation. Plus then the gas motor would just need to run longer to charge it back up anyway so it doesn't really make any sense to do it that way.
      With a plug-in hybrid on the other hand, you can put the vehicle into EV mode and use up the available electric range. On the plug-in hybrid Tucson the range is approximately 50 km on average.

    Everything I buy new is new,
    Unopened, packaged and sealed for me to open,
    Except for cars, the dealer opens, unpacks and unboxes not the owner, what if someone likes the plastic protective covering in their new car, shouldn't the dealer ask first.

    • @edsgarage001
      @edsgarage001  Před rokem +1

      If you had any idea how much plastic was on vehicles when they come from the factory, you might change your mind.
      All vehicles, new or used must be fully inspected before sale. This includes a test loop drive. The inspection is required by law to make absolutely sure the vehicle is safe to drive.
      We cannot properly perform the inspection if the car is covered in 400+ pieces of plastic. You're not even allowed to drive them on the street like that.
      Plus we also want to make sure there's been no damage in shipping. These vehicles travel thousands of kilometers by truck, sea freight and train before they actually get to the dealership. There's a lot of chances for damage. Inside and out. (Inside from the various people moving the vehicle around, and the inspection.
      Much of the plastic also leaves sticky residue, so during the "clean for delivery" process, all of that is cleaned as well.
      There's just far too much to do with the car before delivery to the client, that we can't be expected to do those things whilst it's covered in plastic.
      HOWEVER
      If a client specifically requests to see the car with all the plastic on it first, then they're welcome to do that , but ONLY if the timing works. If the plastic is kept on too long and allowed to bake in the sun, then the adhesive can also cause problems with the clear coat, which would require even more work to get it to look great.
      Also, most of the cars already have all the plastic removed long before a customer looks at or buys it. You can't expect a dealer to have an inventory of cars all covered in plastic.
      I hope that clarifies things
