These 3 tips improved my heli skills for inverted flight!

  • I was stubborn or stupid and did not follow for a long time 3 tips many experienced RC heli pilots have given me before I even was buying my first collective pitch heli. I followed them now late. But much better late than never! If you are new to RC helis you can save yourself lots if chrashes, repairs and frustration if you just go ahead and and put these 3 tips into practice! The most important of them is the investment in a flight simulator! Within a couple of days simulator traing I am flying inverted and I show you one of my flights in this video! I am all over the place and not precise at all, but I will work on inverted hovering on one place before I try inverted flying on the field. Have a great 2024! Many happy and safe flights!

    One of the BEST advice I give to those wanting to fly INVERTED IS to LEARN how to HOVER in 1 SPOT inverted, just like when you started to learn to fly upright you learn to HOVER FIRST. Moving the Heli around INVERTED WITHOUT hovering it well is a recipe for a crash. Just an FYI, good video here, by the way those RADIO MASTERS are the MOST difficult radios to set up, kudos to you, I fly SPEKTRUM AND VBAR, I could never set up my radio master so I gave it away, a RED ONE, TX16 I think it was.

      @MARKLINMAN1 You are absolutely right! Thank you for this advise! I am working on this right now because it's so essential to know how to hold the heli precisely on one spot! Do you have a favorite way how to get inverted? Or a recommended orientation for the beginning of inverted hover? Like in upright it is tail in?

    • @frisos3944
      @frisos3944 Před 5 měsíci +2

      @@RCCopterLove-helis4everin my experience it doesn’t really matter as long as you do it consequentially the same, so you build muscle memory. And start with only one orientation inverted.

    • @MARKLINMAN1
      @MARKLINMAN1 Před 5 měsíci +3

      @@RCCopterLove-helis4ever I always teach to go inverted Aileron FIRST, there is less mass to flip the HELI OVER and you will still be TAIL to you, so right is still right and left is still left, forward/back of course are opposite, but going inverted NOSE IN everything is OPPOSITE, , once you practice this way things start to click.

      @@frisos3944 Thank you! I will do one orientation first! It it "sits" the next. After tail in inverted one side view, then the other, than nose in. Great!! I love this kind of training! No joke!! Best greetings!!

      @danielschibig8014 Thank You Daniel! Yes, the best is that we have very bad weather at the moment: Lot's of rainy days or even snow! Then I am using the SIM and I feel that the brain and muscle memory is getting trained! Training inverted flying is opening a total new dimension! @RCCopterLove-helis4ever hello buddy. Yeah the weather has not been good at all. Unfortunately I also work full time so only really get a chance to fly at weekends at the moment as the days are very short. It gets dark around 3.30pm so no time arfter work to get out. Still I love the hobby so roll on spring when the weather gets better and the days are longer. Happy flying buddy 👍🏻

    I don't like this video. I LOVE this video instead! I really like how you are able to summarize things. I'm going to try to make the, "My RC Heli Story" tonight. I'm going to do my best to summarize it, so I don't go on too long. I can't promise that it will go that way though, LOL. I'm happy you finally got the RC Heli Simulator! I have both the AccuRC2 like you have, and Real Flight Evolution as well. GREAT VIDEO my friend! By the way, that's what I'm going to work on next as well. I've already been doing it a little bit, but I haven't been using my Sims lately, or getting in any real stick time, as I also a woodworker by trade. I craft several things out of wood, and sell them. I get A LOT of orders, and being a 1 man operation, I'm ALWAYS behind schedule.

      @AnythingEverythingRC-rc1yc Thank you very much! Glad you like my summaries! The SIM training is the best thing that ever happend to me. It opens me so many ways to try totally unknown maneuvers without endless repair jobs! I hope to see your RC Heli Story soon!! As a live long freelancer I know that having too much work is not always comfortable. But I always tried to see that it's a luxuriouy problem... And it says a lot about your abilities! :) Knowing that many poeple do not have enough work, orders, whatever. Great that you can live out your creativity in your Job. The weather makes flying outside almost impossible! So more SIM time!! All the best!!

    Sie können in ihrem Radio die empfindlichkeit der sticks mittels "expo" programieren. 🤓

      @tomkoller749 Danke fuer den Tipp. Ich liebe jedoch hoechstmoegliche Stick Empfindlichkeit und schnellstmoegliche Reaktion meiner Helis. Ohne jegliches Expo und ich habe in meiner Radiomaster und Edge TX sogar eine Kurve, die das Deadband eliminiert. Dazu maximale Agility und Rotation Speed Einstellungen im Flybarless. Nach vielen Experimenten funktioniert das fuer mich am allerbesten. Das ist ja das Tolle an programmierbaren Transmittern, dass amn solange probieren kann, bis es sich traumhaft anfuehlt. Und jeder RC Pilot hat sicher ganz zandere Vorlieben.

      @oddsteinarenderud6837 Hi thank you! I used google translate :) I was flying two years RFT and it was diffucult to switch to Edge TX. I managed only with help! The heli beginnings were very diffucult, but never say never!! It's a long joiurney with humble beginnings and you need a lot of patience. But it's worth! Every heli pilot needed lost of patience! I cross my fingers!! All the best!!
