If cheng worked bars, she probably could've been an all around champion at some point. She wouldn't have had to be good at them, but she was so dominant on beam, floor and vault she could've easily won an all around title.

one of the commentators said zamolodchikova is the former olympic champion, wrong, you can say former world champion, olympic champion is a title you earn and keep for all times.
Is that really how it works, officially? (I'm not saying this to be snarky, I swear!! I'm just legitimately thinking hard about it now & how ive heard those two different titles have been referred to for athletes in all different sports, and I didn't know that was like, the "official" way to say it? Learn something new every day I guess, right? Even something totally obscure like this, works for me!)

@witscats Umm thats because front entry and backward entry vaults require different techniques. Also vault is one skill while bars, beam and floor are several skills that include both front and back tumbling. So this the FIG saying to be the best in the world on vault you have to show mastery in both front and back tumbling like how the best in the world on bars, beam and floor need to show mastery in both front and back tumbles and skills.
