  • Just before 11:00 PM, Boston Fire Alarm struck box 148 for a fire in the Jacob Wirth Resturant on Stuart St downtown. Ladder 17 arrived to fire showing from the first floor of a 3.5 story vacant building under construction. Companies found fire on all floors of the building and C-6 ordered a 2nd and 3rd Alarm. Due to advanced fire conditions, all companies were ordered out of the building and a 4th alarm was ordered to bring in water to supply master streams. 2 Ladder pipes, a tower ladder and several blitz-fires and deck guns battled the blaze into the early morning hours.

Boston Fire the best FD. A 4 bagger knocked down in just over 2 hours. Water-on fire within 5 minutes from when the box was first struck. Not when first engine company arrived. I was monitoring on Broadcastify and heard the box come in.
I love this lady dispatcher’s voice for several years now. Operator 24 She remains so calm all the time. Wish I knew her name. Anyone know?
I used to live in Boston next door to Engine 40 years ago. Was friends with many district chiefs, officers and Jakes. Miss all those guys.

As a veteran dispatcher of 16 years I could listen to this dispatcher all day long!

You got the right driver. Ever take a look at the many other videos of fires on CZcams? Many departments in USA really suck.

    Great video!
Was it also windy and raining while this was going on?

Thank you -- Yes it was pouring for the first hour or so of the fire.

Old school, in the smoke without SCBA.

But they can still say they were at the 2024 4th alarm fire that destroyed the Jacob Worth building.

Do you expect them to use buckets to put it out.

One of the most uneducated comments I've ever seen on CZcams. "Overkill with the water"!!!??? Obviously your only experience firefighting you have is what you have seen from your couch🤦‍♂️ Much rather surround and drown than have a rekindle with those exposures on top of one another. Or send crews into a building under construction with many unknown hazards. That's how Firefighters get injured or worse, LODD's. Chief made the right call going defensive after conditions deteriorated. Looking at the head start it had and how deep seated the fire was it was definitely NOT "overkill" with the water.

10:33 guy doesn’t knot how to wear bunker gear properly. Straps go over shoulders and not around his ass
