It's Mattel Intellivision game "Auto Racing" :) I have the console and the game, it's also in the PS2 game Intellivision Lives! but sounds are a bit different between the PS2 and real Intellivision consoles. Really awesome KITT mods to the Tesla :) Looking forward to future episodes! Driving myself a 2016 Kia Rio, and Kia stands for Knight Industries Automobile... doesn't it ;)

This takes me back ... I'm an electrical engineer and my first car back in the 90s had home made Kitt scanner lights and sequenced rear lights. You're Tesla looks much better than my old Renault 5 did with Kitt on. Another Great video.. thank you.

Two of my favorite shows as a kid was Knight Rider, and Battlestar Galactica. I always thought it was interesting why K.T.T. had the same scanner sound had the Cylons. You now the "woo,woo". It could be that Glenn A. Larson was the creator for both. But just perhaps K.I.T.T's twin K.A.R.R. really survived and was the true original Cylon!!!
This is weird. I swear to god I was thinking almost the same just yesterday! My idea was a Knight Rider prequel/Galactica crossover where they find cylon technology (perhaps from 82 show episode where cylons landed) and modify it to build KARR.
Glenn A. Larson wanted the Cylons to have a "menacing" single eye, Cylon was also derived from "Cyclops" -- there's even an episode Planet of the Cyclops, where we see the origins of the Cyclons (trans humanism or should I say trans cyclopism?) And I guess he figured, the red light was the "electronic eye" scanning it's surroundings for the Cylons. We now have KITT that needs to scan... What can we do??? Pull out the old "Larson scanner" again.
@@CallousCoder Lots of sci-fi props got reused during the 80s and 90s just because they added the necessary ambiance. I think the most famous is the quad tube laser... thingy. That sucker was in everything!
@@r.l.royalljr.3905 I come from a background of FX and VFX, and we would reuse props we’ve made all the time :) For a TV show that I worked on (The Next Uri Geller), I created a magic prop that made it seem as the mentalist could predict anything in the most clean way possible. That prop was reused in 3 acts in the same season :) And Star Wars ships are funny, as you see a lot of the same Greeblies from a Tamiya modeling kit :) Time for the prop department was getting shorter and shorter, whilst demands kept getting higher. So you have to reuse ideas. We had to create effects and props for 6 artists in 6 days each week, for 13 weeks straight. It was literally the most exhausting job ever. I slept all Sunday and worked mo-fri for 16-18 hours, Saturday only 10. Pfff… now 12 years in I couldn’t do that anymore :)
This is just absolutely awesome! Honestly I could see you doing a mini series with your KITT. Great to have ladyfractic involved and of course puppyfractic. I can’t get over the production quality of your videos especially this series. From the early videos to now it’s been amazing to watch your channel grow. Onwards and upwards. Oh by the way you had us in tears of laughter with KITT driving over you and of course getting the surprise slam of KITT as you crossed the road! Can't wait to see the T.I.T.T when you install the pursuit mode-transformation kit. Just remember that Musk said he'd bring fully autonomous cars to the market soon, so you should keep an eye for the Tesla Automated Roving Robot.

Those Atari joysticks always seemed pretty resilient to me. I don't think they ever broke when we used them on the Atari 2600. A number of years later when we got the Amiga, the typical joysticks available for £10-£15 were far more fragile, with frequent replacements needed. Is that just because I didn't use the Atari ones for long enough to experience their deterioration, or were they really robust?
I forgot to mention previously: when the Knight Rider 2000 Theme was playing (before it was mentioned in your video) I said, “Oh, cool, he’s using the Knight Rider 2000 Theme!” to which my wife agreed that I’m a geek. 😂

Correct but unfortunately it reduces the brightness slightly and because they are already a little borderline in brightness I didn’t want to risk that. I’ll see though…
The turbine sound is great, but in Knight rider you could hear the V8 burble too. With your dedication you could mix these two sounds for sure. First V8 Turbine Tesla in the world 😂

I think the Red Scanner LED and SOUND should be the default setting for all vehicles operating in self drive mode.
