My husband and I actually got 2 toasters for our wedding 30 years ago--one of them is still working!🤣
Our toasters haven't lasted our marriage (we did get one for a wedding gift) but we got a bread-maker and that thing is a beast and still works 35 years later!

In the 1960s they used to give you a toaster at the bank when you opened a new account and deposited at least a certain amount of money.
They still do that here in Asia. I've been given all manner of low end crappy electronic devices like MP3 players and calculators and thermometers/hygrometers

I've still got some plates from a set, cooking utensils and knives from a bank here in Mexico. You had to deposit something like 250 dlls to get cool stuff 👌🏻 It's been about 8 years since the last one, though.
In 2000, i moved from Canada to Phoenix, Az. When i went to bank of America, they were offering an assortment of guns to choose from, for free, as an incentive to open up an account with them. I chose another bank to do business with,... One that didn't have mental midgets at their helm, handing out weapons to potentially hold them up with, later down the road!

I saw him live, that’s how I discovered him. As funny as it is here its 10x that in person. Genuinely never laughed so constantly in my life (and he added in location specific jokes. Phenomenal!)

A place where I used to work had a conveyor belt toaster. Freakin' amazing, loved it. You just could touch anything except the on switch and the speed dial, otherwise you got scorched.

Worked in a rural area nursing home. coroner was harvesting so said he collect the newly deceased when the semi was full. Being late anywhere when harvest on full, definitely valid. This guy is good.

Ok, things like work, sick, missing work, still sick, the new doc next week (Heard good things! He's gonna help me! Stay tuned. .), back to work, sorting stuff into "do this NOW," "Revisit next WEEK," and "TOO LATE, SORRY!" Emails (Reply, Forward, Flag, DELETE), dishes not done ("That's ok honey. I worked, you didn't, you needed the nap"), too sick to call family, and so I'll. . .Oh! Apparently they're all down with something too!! "No, really. Thanks for not calling me and disturbing me. . . for the last six months. Totally fine with dat. You betcha." SOOOO, tonight after a dinner break, back at work at my desk at my computer, still not feeling great, I decided to push the blasted day aside and find something to make me laugh. So I searched Dry Bar Comedy, and this gem of a comedian, Matt Falk appeared on my screen and I laughed & laughed, turned up the volume, and laughed & laughed and watched a couple of students leave the reference area of the library to go study elsewhere, and. . Hey! A little icing on the cake! I don't have to do that anymore! :) !
The toaster problems are real. My husband is a chef and burns toast all the time, at home anyway. Fantastic set.

This has to be the most eloquent, funny, and straight-forward comedian I've seen. Kinda surprised he's straight, but I'm sure he's tired of hearing that. Congrats to the happy couple!
One of my roommates eats burned toast. Actually everything that goes into the toaster or oven will be burned. He calls it "just right". I call it "darker than black metal". I don't even get up anymore to check if the kitchen is on fire. Guess, should the house ever burn down, I will die in there, because "Ah, just my roommate making lasagne...", whenever I smell or see smoke coming through from under my bedroom door.
