  • In today's video we are taking a look at the Koch Chemie USA (KCX) polishing system that is available in the US Market. We will be discussing the ability of each compound/polish as well as the specific pad that it pairs with. We have a junkyard hood that we will be using to demonstrate the effectiveness of each polish in removing heavy defects and 2000 grit sanding marks.     nice vid and a lot of effort. I'd have liked to have seen the M3 going over the H9 or F6 to see how it finished when polishing light swirls.

    Nice video! What difference did u notice between the P6 and the F6 in terms of cutting power and gloss? Is the F6 good enough for a single step polishing?

      So the cutting power is roughly the same I would say however the P6 leaves more gloss because it has the additive sealant in the formula. I’ve used F6 before as a single step for polishing before a ceramic coating and it worked and finished well

    nice video. that number on the label; is that the cut level, or the Ph level? I think there is a slide gauge on the bottom that shows cut level and gloss level (2 gauges? OMG, what is that thuinping noise?

    Finally an excellent review & demonstration. My diamond white Lincoln has noticeable swirl marks. No real scratches. Maybe hairline. So i want to get those out. Which products should i use? I want to ise an orbital to get the swirl marks out, then polish, then apply a wax i suppose. Thanks again, great stuff

      If you want to get basically everything out I would do the H9 and P3 combo. If you are looking to get a single product and pad combo just use F6, it will give you the cut you need.

      @@DeconDetailing are you familiar with the Griots Garage products & if so would you recommend koch over them? How do they differ? Griots comes highly recommended also. Thanks for the help

      @@8corymix8 I am familiar with griots products and they are great quality. I like Koch Chemie and would prefer Koch over griots but honestly pick the products you like from each and run with it. If you like to stick with one particular brand then try a couple products from each and see which you prefer.

      @@DeconDetailing ill end up buying a few things from Griots but im going to take your recommendation on koch. Im very excited to try the product. Should i go with their pads? Im probably going to buy the Griots G9 orbital. Thank you again for all of your responses, it's a huge help to me. I really don't know what I'm doing but have 2 prized Lincoln's that i want to keep sparkling!

    Hello! What is the differenc between a da polisher and a rotary polisher? Whitch is the better and why? I know what is da polisher and i know what is rotary, but i dont know whitch is better and why. I have a rotary makita polisher but if i see a video about polishing every body use da polisher.

      I think it all depends on how you like to detail. A rotary might get you quicker correction but usually it’s a little more difficult to finish out paints with because it tends to leave light hologramming if done improperly. A rotary wont stall on body curves and you can change the pad size by changing out the backing plate since it doesn’t use a counterbalance system. If you’ve learned how to use a rotary then I would stick with it and hone that skill. Rotaries are also usually a little heavier than a DA which might be undesirable. The DA will not generate as much heat as the rotary and can be used to cut and finish out paint. You need different machines with a DA because you can’t effectively polish all areas of a car with a 5 or 6 inch DA polisher because the pad will stall in tighter areas and physically won’t fit. It’s more user friendly than the rotary and is usually a little more lightweight and better for a beginner. It is hard to mess up paint with a DA due to the dual action nature of the orbit in which it rotates/spins. If you apply too much pressure or lean too hard in a curve, the pad will stall and not cut the paint, which is a safety function of the DA. In the end, it really boils down to which you are more comfortable with and have more experience with. There are pros and cons to each so you just need to figure out which you would prefer

      I have one more question. In an average-sized car, by the time you get around a step, how many pole discs do you need for professional work?

      @@balazsszilasi8349 I use about 4-5 pads per car and clean the pads regularly during the process to keep the residue low and prevent too much heat build up in the pads themselves
