      @MegaFregel Před 2 lety +3

      That’s interesting. I always thought KC compounds and polishes don’t have excessive dusting but I’m saying that coming from Menzerna's lineup which dust quite a bit more.
      Maybe it’s the different climates as well since I’m from Germany.

    • @danlc95
      @danlc95 Před rokem +2

      KC is overrated anyways.
      I tried it, and it seemed like a copy of Menzerna, which I like, but doesn't warrant the popularity. Just goes to show how much marketing does to promote something.
      However, I also like the Megs M110, and 3D ACA500. Neither of those two get any recognition from the more popular CZcams channels, and that's ok for me.
      It's a good lesson in that one really needs to try these products for themselves.

    According to my country's Koch Chemie importer H9.02 has a greater level of gloss to make the final step (Ideally with the company's own M3.02) a bit easier. Although I've yet to see any reviews on the upgrade, you would think after 3 years since the addition of H9.01 they've had more feedback on the topic of lubrication.

But you're definitely missing out on the last cut+ order you a bottle and also get a bottle of the last cut as well. 2 really great compounds designed by a detailer because the normal cutting compounds dry up to fast for him as he works in hotter Arizona climates than most of us.

  • @matthewgibb2640
    @matthewgibb2640 Před 2 lety +4

    Dusting can be controlled with a tiny drop of parrafin oil every now and then, a game changer. or a little nanolex optimizer with thicker compounds. Or even just a dampened pad. A compound should have the filming/lubrication of a polish not so dry as if a compound won't film well and keep wool/mf fibres moist and the surface lubed, the abrasives can't cut. Koch chemie is efficient cutting but somewhat too dry for my liking. H9 is good but I love using a mix of H9 and F6 at 70/30 or 80/20, not saying it's perfect but it's much better. After testing 150 brands of products, it takes alot for any new paint correction liquids to impress me. Compound formulations are improving but still need to get better. Fully moving away from pastes and going to true liquids with no naphtha, kero and other low quality ingredients is where they need to go. Sandro, Your videos are fantastic even for this thirty year detailing veteran who has used alot of products and seen alot of change, from the rotary days to the early long throw days of 2007/08 and more. . Your thoughts on koch H9 and lubrication issues are spot on.

      I can understand the concept of a non diminishing abrasives being designed to be more of a short cycle product. Like Megs M105. Horribly dusty if worked too long or in the wrong environment. I've had it dust away before I could even finish my section. But when this happens to a non diminishing abrasive... then what's the point? You would think a better lubrication system would be necessary for such an abrasive load, to ensure they particles were sufficiently cycled.
      A dream scenario is a non diminishing abrasive compound with the lubricant similar to a polish.
      This is what led me to 3D ONE and ACA500. I've been very happy with those two cutters. I also really like Meguiar's M110, but it doesn't have the staying power of ACA500. The 3D might cut a touch more as well.
      I also use Optimum Intensive Polish and Hype4 Compound. They also resist dusting, but they tend to finish with a lot of marring, especially with their orange waffle foam pads. I'm not a big fan of those foams. They never seem to cut or finish well. I don't get the popularity. I switched to a green Buff and Shine 60ppi pad and got much better cut and a better finish. I don't like spraying polish into the center hole of the Optimum Hyper Wool pads, so I bought some of the Lake Country purple foamed wool pads. Still need to try them, but they work great with 3D ONE so far.

    I share the same thoughts on the Cutmax and the H9 (havent tried the last cut but heard good things about it, will try it soon), The first year of Koch Chemie their products were a step above and or comparable with the best products out there but this year ? not sure what happened but their products are not as strong or they don't have that bite that they used to especially the H9 which ive noticed. Before were on the H9 for compounding its our go to product but this year i started leaning towards the cutmax and (also went back to chemical guys V36) as well as my guys i asked them why and they said the product change it doesnt work or as effective as it used to and started dusting, just like in this video Sandro. Something or somewhere along the way Koch Chemie kindly got watered down.

    Beautifully done Sandro! Hard to beat Jace’s products, some of my personal favorites.
    Generally speaking, do you find TLC+ to cut more on wool or microfiber? I am a fan of both but I tend to enjoy microfiber more, I noticed you mentioned in the video it may even have more cut on microfiber vs wool but I wasn’t sure if I caught that correctly!

    • @CarCraftAutoDetailing
      @CarCraftAutoDetailing  Před rokem +1

      Thanks Jordan and I think it comes down to the specific pad, machine & technique. Overall on DA’s, MF does in general cut more, however there are exceptions like the Lake County LL SDO wool pads that cut unbelievable well, even more so that most MF pads, but they do run a little rough on DA’s, so it not the nicest experience, but the cut is exceptional.
      Rotary’s and MF pads don’t play well, but the ability to tilt wool pads and add more pressure and use much faster RPMs allows you to cut in a way that’s just not possible on a DA, even through MF may be generally a more efficient cutter and even through you may start to encounter over heating and paint swelling issues it you go too far. Maybe not the simple answer you where after but I think all the specifics matter a lot.

    What is the best cutting compound to use with a rotary polisher

    • @CarCraftAutoDetailing
      @CarCraftAutoDetailing  Před rokem

      I don’t think there’s an answer to that question, it depends on a lot of things like the paint type, it’s defects, the pads and machine you use and how you like work to name a few. I can tell that personally like The Last Cut+, Scholl S2 Black, Carpro UltraCut as a few examples.

    We know if we remove swirl mark/scratch the clear coat layer is eroded. Is there tips n trick to add or replace the clear coat layer or something like that? Because we must keep the panel no swirl mark and to do that we must maintenance the panel periodic

      Just work with the least aggressive method. Using very light polished and light polishing pads removes very little clear coat.

    What would use to cut oxidation on a RV?

    • @CarCraftAutoDetailing
      @CarCraftAutoDetailing  Před rokem

      You could really use any of these three compounds, perhaps TLC+ and Sonax would be more efficient if it’s a badly oxidised gel coat, also mated with a wool pad and rotary polisher.

      If all you’re concerned about is cut you use Meguiar’s M101, Menzerna FG300 or even Scholl S0, but be warned they aren’t nice to use and they are extremely time consuming to refine.

    There are so many products and brands and it's confusing, I bought a black car, the paint itself is in pretty good condition but there are scratches, some are deep but most are quite small, I don't know which brand and which products to choose, A store near me has Meguiars, Turtle Wax, KochChemie,Sonax.... Many say they are excellent, but their products are confusing, They have many similar products with small changes, I don't know what to choose...

      You don’t have to over think it. If it’s a reputable established brand known for producing good car paint compounds, chances are it’s going to work just fine regardless of which specific one you go for. The bigger impact is going to be you, in using it with a good method and technique which takes a little practice to get good at - just like everything else in life. Your videos are excellent, I've seen a lot of them, and I'm very good with my hands, I just need to know "how" and "what to do" it's just sometimes confusing, I've been researching what to do for a few days, what are all the steps from start to finish...
