Thanks for watching X Games! - Sport
Tony struggled to do the 900 because he was the first to do it. It's like the 4-minute mile phenomenon. Everyone thought it was impossible until it was done, and then all of a sudden it was done by dozens of other runners in the same year.
The first 1260 . It's history in the making
Mark MacRae Your future girlfriend's name will be Monkeyfur.
And he lost..... smdh
spinning on a wheelie board is so dope bro
Boring
It's funny that this happened because Tony Hawk predicted a few years ago that the younger generation who grew up on vert would be able to pull off a 1260 but it hadn't been done yet in a pro scene. He actually predicted this on a Wired video he did.
Imagine being Tony Hawk trying for years to land a 900, only for a 10 year old to do it years later
once its its been done once people know its possible. and it becomes standard trick. see every move in freerunning... it was impossible untill someone did it
@@the_wudarian When Rodney Mullen invented the kickflip in the beginning, they used to call it the "magic flip" cause it seemed so impossible to do. Now you can probably learn it in a week if you really practice. These things are kinda weird.
@@thesheep91 In 2030 we will start to see kids doing triple kickflips on flat like in the Tony Hawk games
@@XavielCZcams dunno - i think theres a limit to this somewhere! Its insane nontheless!
@@thesheep91 true, I'm a 44 year old skateboarder that stepped up to skateboarding again when the kids started skateboarding (I skated years ago when I was 12 - 16) and just landed my first kickflips again after 28 years of pause. It's just a great a feeling as back in the 90s.
4:43 imagine it’s your big day in the xgames and all the announcers talk about is your shirt
Anon 😢
Haha 😂
@@skateaccount5747 WHO'S THE BOY?
....and its a Garth Brooks shirt.
Ouch
"bro thats the hardest trick bro"
💀💀
"bro that wheelie board spin bro"
BRO! Bro the bro's BRO BBRRROOOO!!!
I can do it all of it but wait I need to go get something
Couldn't stand listening to that guy
They just casually do 900s nowadays. I know Tony Hawk is punching the air right now
Naw he set the blueprint
Bro he wasn’t on a mega half pipe tho, he did 900s on a regular half pipe
Booby Jail pink and in his 50s or whatever
the pipe that they are using is much bigger than the one tony hawk used.. these 900s take nothing away from hawk's achievement. it's still a difficult trick to pull if you use a pipe with the same dimensions.
Lol tony hawk is more proud i bet. He set an example
10 year old lands a 900?? what the hell
nils holgerson easier to spin faster when youre smaller, thats why first person to do the 1080 was 12
He lands a 900 *in vert.* And he doesn't even qualify.
He'll be the next Tony Hawk
i spent like 30 seconds thinking about that then continued to finish the video and then i scroll down to see top comment about it. this makes me happy. and someone did a 1260?!!? damn
@@shelbytomy07 still has about 100 or so tricks to invent tho 🤷
I’m not being sarcastic when I say this. What in the world is going on here. This is on a new level of crazy.
Agreed. This new age of skating is INSANE. I can't even comprehend the level of focus and skill and athleticism required to pull off these stunts. Truly impressive.
sick wheelie boarding bro
Mitchie hits the first ever 1260, STILL puts Nyjah on the thumbnail lol (just having a laugh y'all)
The name
@@saucynico6920 that's what got him silver too
Street skate is more entertaining
, and i dont even know who Mitchie is lol
Street is where it's at, freestyle is dead
Mitchie just like Jagger got screwed.
A 1260... Come on. It will be years before anyone else lands it, let alone attempts.
I mean I can do a Ollie. Not trying to brag.
I can one out of fifty tries land a kick flip. No bid dealio.
Not to one-up you, but I can hold a skateboard
Cole Hopfenberg dang I’ve been working on that!
Sergio Alcantara why aren’t you in this video
I mean i OWN a skateboard so step off bro.
7:45 oh my god, oh my god he on xgames mode
Ikr wow
He is really on x games mode
That dood really waited for the perfect moment to drop
“KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS!!!”
Mitchie deserved that win, I mean it's the first 1260 in existence!
very good same as when quad cork was done on skies in xgames he didn't win eighter. I guess judges is a bit universal about spin to win.
Vert has always been what I like but the new park category format is by far my favorite now.
Jimmy Wilkins, Cory Juneau, Shane O'neill, and Mark Suciu are my favorite skateboarders.
This is insane. To have this much controll over something you were not supposed to have by nature. Humans are truly incredible...
first 10 seconds
tony hawk: am i a joke to you?
maybe if brusco had celebrated like a maniac, he would have won the gold medal, his face was so contradictive
Mitchie was in gameface mode!
The 1260 was absolutely insane, but even Burnquist said that they judge both of the tricks, that's why he didn't win.
@@XGames too bad the judges weren't... Did you guys hire the panel for Dew tour or what???
His concentration level was through the roof even after he landed, his expression just stayed that way. Almost catatonic state of adrenaline.
Hilarious. Xgames moderator liked this comment
Park skateboarding is so underrated. These guys are crazy.
"Nyjah aint even fair" lmaoo
A professional who's creative and isn't afraid to try things is more of a winner to me than the winner himself.
1:13 that looks fun
It amazes me how smooth they land their tricks
I feel like when you land a trick which has never been landed before you should win. A 1,260 gets landed for the first time in X-Games history and it takes second place??? WHAAAT I also think that if you land a run that you already won with there sound be at least some kind of deduction.
Ehhh... as Bob said, in that particular competition, they judge *both* tricks, not just the vert one. His first trick was kind of weak. It's kind of like in street if someone ends with something insanely difficult, like Shirai did this year - it helps your run, but it doesn't negate the rest of it (even though I personally think Shirai should have won street). A NBD shouldn't automatically earn victory in an event that isn't solely based on that trick. If Nyjah Huston did nothing but ollies his whole street run then whipped out a biggerflip-back tail-big flip out on a hand rail, which I'm assuming has never been done, that doesn't mean he automatically wins.
@@PalmelaHanderson but its called big air, implying that the trick in the pipe should count the most. Nobody cares about the ramp trick before. Your comparison with street is pretty weak because street is already set up for more tricks and variations, with big air you only get 1 opportunity
queraweed just because you don’t care about the first trick doesn’t mean the run isn’t scored on both tricks.
If nobody cares about the first trick why have it at all? It would be the ramp leading directly to the quarter pipe without the jump in the middle.
the 2020 olympics are gonna be sick
These tricks are mind bending its so difficult its unreal
Thanks for all the highlights! Seeing all these guys rip is the best 🙌🏽
Thanks for watching!
Awesome event!!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I'm not sure how I got this into my feed, I'm not sure why I'm watching this, but man these are some insane tricks and jumps!
Man this looks so fun, even if I only use a penny board to cruise around I´d love to see one of this events in person someday
These new generation of skaters was amazing..900 to them is like easy work.. My goodness.. and also the high Air.. 😮 The way these skaters are evolving nowsaday just crazy..
Jagger Eaton killed both park and street. In my opinion wasn't scored enough.
He's an all-terrain machine!
crazy and so so nice !!!
Gee bro ah bro, that’s hard bro
That 1260 was sick!
This is sick
Dont forget the huge airtime on those big ramps... while tony did it on a "normal" vert ramp
Nyjah is 🔥 but Yuto gets me every time! He's so idle. Like he's out of a videogame!
Yeah
YO SO SICK LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The way I always got goosebumps watching mitchie brusco did 1260
Amazing!!!!
Im speechless.
Jimmy was OFF the hook. Jimmy was...Jimmy was Jimmy. You know? Jimmy was like...shaaaaaaa...cawwwww.
I remember when tony hawk landed the 900, it was such a huge deal.
Now ten year olds are doing it like it’s no big deal.
The announcers are horrible “brooooo” “noooooo” “so scandalous brooooo” - great insight 😂👎
Just Gary sucks
Comes with the territory
Tyler Riggs Gary doesn’t suck. At least he isn’t generic
Thats how black people talk. stop being a racist
@@wes4192 Nice race card mate.
Awesome...
So we're not gonna mention the 13 year old who did a 540 big flip in Next X?
Daeshon Fields just wanted to say the same thing
“Gee bro! NOOO! Not no, but yeah! OHH BRO! Oh no...”
Some of these tricks couldn't be landed in the video games back in my day and now there are literally kids doing these things.
If a 1260 not a perfect score???? Please tell me wtf is!!!
They count both tricks, so that's why.
Who else is on a skateboarding binge after THPS 1 & 2 getting remastered??
madness!
He on Xgames mode
Видео топ пацаны красавцы!
Awesome
Man vert looks so cool and fun, but scary as hell to try. Wish it becomes more popular
I wonder in the park and street disciplines, if they plan it all exactly out beforehand or do they make it up as they go? Or do they have a rough idea and make adjustments when necessary? Im kinda new to skateboarding sorry
Jagger Eaton was robbed of the podium in street. 🤔
Dontblink29 yea he deserved more. At least bronze
The reason he didn't make podium is because he did the switch flip back lip AFTER the clock hit zero
@@zyx777zyx ya that would be the only thing that makes sense.
@@zyx777zyx Yeah that, but there's also style. It feels bad to say, but it's true. Style plays a big part of the overall impression when watching skateboarding, and the judges aren't robots.
People like Yuto and Nyjah just have a nicer style to watch than Jagger, and that means they get a few bonus points.
I think what Jagger was doing is insane, and he will be a monster in the coming years, but style is a real part of skateboarding.
PsyQo Hippy | Chris - you are multiple levels of dumb if you think jagger has no style. Jagger and Fpy both had better runs than Nyjah
I didn't know they still had the extreme games. Glad to see that. Do I need cable to watch this stuff?
these announcers sound like dads trying to be "cool" and "hip" I was cringing so hard at 5:02
Tbh it’s mostly just Gary Rogers trying to be gangsta
@@dngrouscrgo i dont get it how is that trying to be gangsta
Lmao so dope they had the very ramp setup in the armory this year so sick
2:14 Toby's shook😂😂
1:55 wow
i can't skateboard, i don't even like skateboard, but here i'm enjoying this vid
5:10 Juan pazurita! 😂
Omygoh he goin x games mode
yoto is insane...... crazy... april has yoto and diego N .... just them alone makes the team stacked
This video brought to you by the word 'Bro'.
46yo dudes narrating, dropping BRO bombs. Brutal!
Lmfao the whispering laugh at the end😂😂😂
Elias Isaksson Your future girlfriend's name will be Bethany.
Yuto has so much style
OH MY GOD. JUST OH MY GOD
Alhamdulillah, nice skills :)
That little child did a 900 pretty freaking easily
I subbed and hit the bell.
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS!
Footage of my once peaceful city Minneapolis.
Better than the olympics
Skateboarding saved my life.
Omagawd they on x games mode
So this is where we’re at now in 2019?? 10 year old just happens to have a pocket 900? 0_o
They're doing it on mega quarters though
6:50 what the music track play? plz
I think they should all get honorable mention trophies for dropping in on the approach ramp for the mega.
Oh my god bro, what the heck bro, gee bro, thats the hardest trick bro
i was 9 when i landed my first 900
in tony hawk pro skater
I know absolutely nothing about skating but for reason here I am
oh my god, he on x games mode
The only way to listen to the street commentary... edited to death.
"Familiar territory, familiar medal." Lol
Just wait till they see Minneapolis 2020
oh my god he on x games mode
Anyone willing to drop in on that big air ramp gets a 10/10 from me dude. Wow.
2:03 Anchorman😂😂
It took Tony hawk ten years to do a 900 and this kid just did it in his lifespan , 10
tony hawk did it on a half pipe
These guys are so precise and technically advanced that it is almost not fun to watch skateboarding anymore.
(don't roast me, I said "almost")
I haven't been following the skateboarding competitions in a while, but it seems like style has gotten WAY behind technique nowadays.
I would watch hours and hours of footage from Bob Burnquist and Daewon Song, as well as more recent skaters like Chris Cole back in the day with a big smile on my face due to such expressions of talent and style, but when there is an X-Games happening now, I usually just wait for the highlights video.
Bro! Broooo
not a skater at all .. well, I did have the santa cruz corey o ' brien back in the day haha.. but (also) for me there's something incredibly satisfying to see the part where they leave the high ramp to increase their speed after their first aerial.. and then.. this super high air.. ah. sorry for the lack of knowledge of terminology , really liked it.
:-D
When I watch snowboarding etc the tricks are super impressive, triple backflip 1440... this is like 360 grind lol. Looks so easy in comparison
Que roupa é essa desse nyjah huston!!! Skatista drag!!! Afff
It feels like I’m playing skate 3 watching this
90s early 00s were the best years all time
