There has been a long list of Mega Man games and different iterations of Mega Man that Dr. Light has created to stop the evil Dr. Wily. I feel like the Mega Man X series IS X's Angsty Teenage years.
Nah, imagine him being even more angsty. Ya, I wouldnt want to play that game either
It's funny because x is the first reploid, and supposed to be an artificial being that resembles a true free will human. But many times x behaves like a stone cold terminator, while mega man is always a lighthearted boy with an overwhelming since of justice.

Omg the Rush references were awesome.
I know they were bad guys in most the games and cartoons, but I loved how megaman powered up reminded players that the first set of robot masters were treated as megaman brothers. Even in the megaman manga and i think the archie comics, once they were defeated they would help megaman in his adventures.
You forgot about the “Mega Man Killers” from the Game Boy games. And that in the future, Mega Man turns into Quint.

Steven Chinchilla Quint was a future Mega Man from Mega Man 2 GameBoy, that Dr Wily kidnapped and reprogrammed into...well...Quint

Megaman Zero games is definitely one of the best in any Megaman related titles. Newer Zero had such a sleek design and best art images
ZX was fine . Advent was unecessary. Either way both of them felt like a forced séquel . The story should just have ended in zero 4 .
zx would be even more amazing if there were more games. we shouldn’t have just 2.

This video helped grow my appreciation for Mega Man. I kind of get the hype for it now.

You guys didn't even talk about X's kids... the Four Guardians from the Mega Man Zero series. Like come on man. They're my favorite.

I may not have grown up with the original Blue Bomber, but Battle Network was my all time favorite part of my childhood, but just knowing that BN was only a small part of this huge franchise gets me excited to hear more about every aspect of Mega Man and X too!

This is barely even HALF of the family tree. It barely touches on the Zero series, and totally fails to address the entire ZX and Legends series.
By the time of Legends all of "humanity", with perhaps ONE exception, is part of Dr. Light's family tree.

I would add Ciel to this, she made Copy X, a new energy source in the form of the Ciel System, and the Biometals that grant users the power and experience of the likes of X, Zero, and the 4 Guardians from the Zero series.
Dr.Light also created the robots from 1 and 9 making them his brothers and 1 new sister.
Weren't only some of them from 9 made by him?

This was the first video I watched after finding out Neil Peart of Rush had passed away. After hearing all those Rush references in the video, I’m gonna go listen to them in memory of the legend that is Neil Peart! RIP
Amazing how detailed all the robots became. Look at Cut Man and then look at Storm Eagle and their level of detail is very massive.
Come on, Capcom, give us X9 and connect the X and Zero/ZX universes!

Mega boy X it’s Megaman- megaman x5- megaman zero collections- megaman zx and zx avant. That’s how the timeline goes depending on the choice you make at the end of 5 the airship that crashes becomes an important area on zero collections. As you know X gives up fighting and zero sealed away gets released to fight the remaining Mavericks.
Dr Wily Also helped build Megaman, Roll and the original 6 robot masters, they are also in the Dr.Light/Dr.Wily family. The misunderstanding that just Dr.Light created them and gets the credit for it is THE reason Dr.Wily went down the path that he did.
Right, even in one of the comics if I remember correctly, it showcases people applauding dr.light for creations and not wily
I would like to see more theories about what happened with Megaman before the X series, I remember on that canceled Megaman MMO intro that original Megaman was present and full of bruises!
I like to think that Wily let Zero out by accident, Bass and Proto Man sacrifice themselves to weaken him and then Mega Man sacrifices himself to put Zero to sleep, then Dr Wily recovers him and you know what happens next
That Man Was The Ryback that’s a really good theory! I personally think that Megaman just ended up falling victim to time and he started breaking and rotting to a point that Dr. Light just put him out of commission.
I have always been confused why there are two types of megaman (the classic and BN) but now I know. Still, I liked the concept, theme and designs of Battle Network better. It has a more modern anime art style to it. Especially megaman BEAST.
You forgot about lights other inventions Eddy the met, Auto, tango the cat. There is also beat the bird an invention of Dr. Cossack, there is also Regae the bird willies minion.

Greatest song writer and drummer of all time.
It gets really dark once the Earth is destroyed several hundred years into the future by a great flood and no humans remain, only advanced reploids called Carbons that are farmed and their numbers kept in check by a system of AI known as Elders and the Master. Megaman is still a Maverick Hunter of sorts but he himself is a Maverick when he has to turn against that system when the Master, the last human alive decides he was wrong and offers Megaman the choice to rebel against the order he helped establish. I probably made it more interesting than it really is but that's my take away from the Legends series and I love it immensely.
You forget to mention about the demonic-like robots, the Reavorbots, that roam the underground ruins.
Mega Man Legends 1 and 2 is thousands, not hundreds of years into the future after the ZX games. Also, the difference between human and reploid start to get blurry in the 25th century, which is when Mega Man ZX and ZX Advent are set in, because humans are required by law to have cybernetic implants that boost their endurance, strength and speed, and reploids are given the ability grow old and die from old age like humans.

@@LightStreak567 they reploids aren't given the ability to grow old and die, they are given an expiration date, so that reploids can't live forever to be on even foot with humans and they don't phisically grow old, they change their appearance according to their mental age.

MegaMan X and Legends was my favorite MegaMan games.
Same. I only wish Legends did get a 3rd installment but for the PlayStation as well. I also wish Capcom would do a MegaMan X legends type of game but I'm sure it's on their garbage pile of wanted to but canceled MegaMan projects list.
My first Mega Man game was an old MS-DOS port of one of the original Mega Man games (looking at the covers for the first three, Mega Man 3's cover feels right but the game didn't have Rush so it was likely one of the first two) with like EGA graphics. It was fun and I remembered it well enough to try playing some other Mega Man games when Playstation first came out. BUT it was really the Legends series that did it for me. There was just something about Mega Man Legends that I could get into more than any of the games I'd tried before that.
@@richardgreenleaf3259 I'm not sure for you but for me it was the experience of a fully 3d environment. Hell I literally would just glide across on the jetskates for the fun of it. Then the 2nd legends game came out it went beyond just the island. However it was a disappointment that the bank you entered on Kattalox island you couldn't deposit money into. It kinda felt like Capcom ditched that idea out into the trash at the last second of the creation of the game.

I'd like to take this time to mention that Dr Cossack wasn't kidnapped by Dr Wily. It was his daughter Kalinka that was kidnapped by Wily which forced him to make the robots Wily wanted.
Fun fact: we are very close to be on a world near of one of Mega Man universes. With assistants like Cortana, Siri and Alexa we are getting close to the Mega Man EXE time line. It's a great time to be alive!

If you havent tried Megaman 9, play it. It is definitely the best Megaman game
9, 10, and 11 are top quality. I personally put 10 above 9, but 9 is generally more well-liked for easier to use and more op weapons.

Erm... you're giving it pretty hard to Dr. Light here. Its Proto Man. If he doesn't want you to find him, you aren't going to find him! Plus, don't you think that Dr. Light might have been respecting Blues's choice to live apart from him, waiting for him to come back on his own rather than forcing him back?
Edit: Hahah! Boba Fett wishes he had Vile's weapons load-out. He has flamethrowers and incendiary explosive launchers in his knees and machine guns in his fingers! Not to mention his durability and physical strength!

A mega Man X movie did come out. But it was only a backstory movie to the main central characters leading up to Sigma becoming evil. Plus there was a cartoon series back in the early 90s I believe which had MegaMan and MegaMan X team up against Vile.

8:13 - Wily got the idea way sooner, as he attempted to make both specialized anti-Mega Man bots on three occasions (Rockman Worlds 1, 2, & 4) and a trinity of stronger Robot Masters based on Journey to the West (Mega Man: The Wily Wars). He also tried his hand with just attacking Mega Man with another Mega Man a few times, most infamously in Rockman World 2 (which has the living epic fail himself, Quint). Sometime prior to or during Mega Man 6, Wily accidentally generated a new power source that he would later dub Bassnium and elected to just make a Mega Man of his own with the discovery. Then Wily decided to try refining this energy source some more and put it towards creating the new generation of robot kind, which would of course be Zero. Those last two tidbits came from the Bass ending for the arcade game Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters.
Never really know Mega man, since i never grow up with it but seeing a couple of video explaining the timeline and others i started to understand why Mega man was one of people's childhood favorites

My elder brother and i started playing mega man x. It became my fav series. And now i have played more than hundreds of games. But this whole X series has a special place in my heart coz it rose the gamer in me. This Megaman X made me A gamer.❤️

I like the idea that doctor Cain was merely an archeological doctor, thats why he found X, and that robots were his hobby, so of course all the schematics and copies he created from the X blueprints were flawed and resulted in a lot of robots which were destined to become mavericks - the virus only slightly speed up the process.

OKAY! I just gonna take a moment to explain that Blues ran away because the procedure to repair his faulty power core risked completely deleting his personality, in essence killing him, and Light didn’t force the procedure out of respect for his son’s wishes. He didn’t want to risk killing Blues either. Wily didn’t care and forced the upgrades with complete disregard for Blues’ sense of being, and even then deliberately gave him another faulty power core. Light lets Blues live as he wishes because that’s what he designed him for: simply “Be”. Light never abandoned Blues; in fact, he keeps the door wide open and reiterates time and time again that he’s welcome back whenever he wants, even if it’s just to visit.
Proto Man isn’t an angsty teen, save for his short stint as Break Man, he’s acting out of self-preservation, something I’m sure everyone reading this would do also. Show him some respect.
What about the Zero, ZX and Legends?
And if you do so, do add the fact that the further the games go in the timeline, they tend to look more and more like the world in Legends c:
Since there was an interview with a Megaman dev (not sure if it was Inafune) who said that,
the more it goes into the future, the more it starts to lean towards Legends, the art style, the structures, the characters etc...
If I've ever seen a video game character that doesn't need to exist, it's Roll from Megaman.

.exe is a completely different timeline where instead of choosing to make advancements in Robotics, Light chose to go into the internet business. People survived in this timeline and humanity was not wiped out and plagued by robot wars. Dr Light even had a kid and his descendants live to this day.
The original robot timeline did not do so good.
Megaman X4 is the best. the gameplay is solid.when fighting storm owl using zero, miss the first two continuous slashes and let the third hit it. it deals alot of damage.
