Your statement about, if you can’t handle getting shot at to save kids you should find another job, was pure truth.
It's kinda hilarious to expect police officers to die for the amount of money they make. Especially when people weaving these sentiments around would be shitting their pants and badger out of situations such as this.

Fact is those officers shouldn't have signed up for the fucking job if they didn't like the pay. They were handed all kinds of tactical gear for situations like this and they voluntarily signed up to be officers. They failed and are a bunch of fucking cowards.

In Greenwood, Indiana a 22 year old man with a glock 9mm took action and fired on an active shooter hitting him 8 of 10 rounds from 40 yards away. He was untrained but knew what to do and took action saving many many lives.... 80% hit rate in an active combat situation with adrenaline pumping. Untrained.... God Bless Him.

Jocko's rant about the chief "forgetting" his radio is 100% spot on. If you've spent 5 minutes in public safety, you feel naked without a radio. You are literally attached at the hip to your radio, it stays on your belt always. I've even accidentally taken my radio home at the end of my shift. I am wondering why his radio wasn't on his belt already, before the incident even began. In fact, most incident commanders I've seen have two or three radios. You have a mic that lets you operate hands free, so you can keep two hands on the gun or whatever else you're working on. You only need one hand briefly when you need to key your mic.
Police Chief’s are hardly cops. They’re politicians and executives. They don’t wear a gun belt and carry radios. They don’t wear bullet resistant vests. They wear a uniform shirt, usually with their rank obnoxiously displayed for the subordinates to genuflect to, and pants, and maybe carry a weapon in an off duty type holster. Most of them walk around pretending to be 4 star generals.
Why are you even on-duty without your radio connected to you.
@@hendriesterhuysen6624 I agree with you. But police chief’s sit behind desks and rarely carry a radio. That being said, there were certainly other officers standing around with one. He should have taken one of theirs immediately. He’s blaming a lack of radio for his incompetence. Not that there’s no blame to be passed around. The 7-10 guys stacked up outside that classroom should have went in, orders or no orders.

The live scenario of being one of those parents who were cuffed by the police while a shooter is shooting kids in their school is literally one of the worst real life nightmares that can happen.

We had a shooter at my son's high school. Three off duty cops in the civilian gear with just their side arms ran into the high school to neutralize the shooter. No hesitation and they did not have to wait for orders. They were from different departments. LAPD, LASD, and Inglewood yet they knew what their jobs where which is to stop the shooter and save the kids. Likewise when we had the North Hollywood here in LA, LAPD was outgunned and the assailants armor prevented the officers weapons from harming the suspects. But the took on the two bank robbers anyway and had to resort to going to a gun store to obtain high caliber rifles that could go through the robbers body armor. Because LAPD were so aggressive no lives were lost. My friends in LE are so furious that these cops stood around and did nothing.
So sad and disgraceful man, and respect to the cops that took action immediately.
I remember that. Living in Northern California thinking......chits gittin crazy down south. Those two guys were something else. If nothing else they had the stones to take it to the end. Surrendering wasn't in their game plan.

If it was just cops vs robbers I'd look at it almost like soldier vs soldier, in that they both agreed to be there and knew the risks. I’m an armed, uniformed security officer at a private school. I get nothing but “thank you for being here” from parents, and many new students come to the school because of the added security - armed security, locked gates and cameras. That said, everyone I’ve come in contact with are 100% about keeping their children safe and could care less what it looks like.

100%. Unless you are completely blinded by ideology how do you justify armed security to protect your money but not your (and our countries) most value resources....
It's more to me about how a security / officer presents themselves. I don't think we need Rambo. We want personalable people that help raise our kids but when needed can go to war with a threat. There are lots of ways to do that. But beyond all the tricks, toys, strategies.. its about having people that will step forward to protect others.

Have you ever been in a situation involving firearms being directed towards you? If not then you have no idea how you'll act if the unfortunate day comes. Do you have regular training which involves how to deal with an active shooter, involving on the ground practice. If not. Then you really have no idea what to do.

The video was just released. The amount of law enforcement just hanging out in that hallway was unbelieveable!
It’s because they didn’t know there were kids in the classroom so they were treating it like a barricaded suspect. B Tatum just did an updated video on it.
Fin Golfin but they were getting phone calls from alive kids in the classroom begging for help? And yet continued to stay in the hallway, some on their phones some sanitizing their hands.

@@bboysaif8 supposedly dispatch didn’t relay those calls to the officers on scene. That’s coming from that same B Tatum video. Which sounds ridiculous, but it does makes sense with the way the cops were causally milling around. Common sense would say if they knew kids were in there they would have been pushing the door.
Fin Golfin They heard constant gun shots coming from the room, which went for like an hour, they heard kids screaming, what else would they be thinking is going on? This is utter and complete failure on all accounts.
The mother who saved her kids probably didn't have any tactical or military training, yet she acted better than most of those who were supposed to be professionals
Know several like her. Unfortunately like her they are prevented from having a career that can most use the skills because of past mistakes.

Another thing that’s also disturbing is one student who survived in the classroom with the gunman. Said the cops outside in the hallway were telling the kids to yell for help. And one little girl yelled for help and the psycho shot her. That’s just insane that an officer would think that’s a smart move.

That was the border patrol agent that shot Salvador Ramos in the end. After he said and heard that, they immediately breached.

You gotta get Paul Howe from CSAT on to discuss this, as well as his Army career, including “Blackhawk Down”. He summed it up perfectly in the after-action video he posted right after Uvalde regarding the LEOs: “You get paid to go in, not to come out.” Exactly.
The cops are trained that ‘everyone goes home at the end of the shift’ and every no -cop is a deadly threat.

The woman that jumped the fence to go and get her kids knowing she could die in the attempt has so much courage, her kids are going to be so proud of her I'm sure the community praises her as a hero as well. I'm sorry for all parents that lost their children and that were pepper sprayed or tazed so themselves couldn't do the job of saving their child's life. The suffuring has been made so much worst because of that botched response.
She also saved several students that weren't her children. The U-PD is still intimidating her to this day.
Any cop that tried to stop me from getting my kids would find their lives ended.
She’s a mom. I absolutely cannot fathom doing anything else. Tackle me, arrest me, prosecute me, imprison me, I’m doing the same fucking thing. But, I’m a white Texan. This communal response, in a historical context, in an Hispanic community, might just be something that shows us how certain people are scared of cops, because cops have treated them like shit, and after this eventually ended, these kids were treated like shit in this scenario.

Mid-sentence, when he realizes he is characterizing a position he may be personally opposed to in an uncharitable mocking voice, he pauses, corrects himself, and states the position objectively and with respect. If you have may adults running around the school with guns who is the Police to focus on. I can see more innocent people being shot. There is not clear answer for this.. It could go both ways.
That being said I'd like to think that I'd try to go in after my child.
But all this should of not been an issue because the cops should of made entry as soon as 3 or 4 cops get on scene.
I have had conversations with my State training center about this for over 2 years ago. I know the Chief trainer in my State who is a former Marine. This moving in quickly by Cops is suppose to be standard practice now in every State
In my State if you are the only office on scene in a rural area you get the first two people with guns to enter with you. Rural areas do the best they can.
So there is less confusion...the cops not doing anything to save your child are the closest, current enemy. Take them out then breach the school. You will not save every child, but you will save more than they are. Get in, no matter WHO you have to kill to get to your baby. This is not hard...standing by why children are being murdered requires your own death. That is the price for cowardice
I graduated in 2012, and we had a school officer. We called her Fergie, she was armed, and she loved the kids at school. As a theatre kid, she’d improve with us and pretend to draw her gun, she never did, and we knew she just loved us. Sandy Hook happened after I graduated, and I knew in my heart, Fergie would have faced that bastard down. School officers don’t have to be scary, they can actually make you love them. Thanks for your service, Fergie.
Yes I agree 100%. School resource officers can have a huge positive impact on kids, especially kids that are going down the wrong path.

In elementary school we had a guard named Mr Larry. Sweetest guy, totally a gentle giant type. Sometimes he even gave me a rice krispie from the vending machine. Great dude.

In case anyone thinks the reason Jocko said “we’re not waiting on ballistic shields while children are being killed” because he’s a Seal, that isn’t accurate. I was a POG Marine and even I know that you just push through the fear, or nerves, or whatever you want to call it to do way you need to do. Like that mom. What a bad ass. Just like with a traffic stop, they love to repeat the line "because look you know at the end of the day we have families we're human too we're just trying to do our Job and get back to our families safe like you" ; They are more concerned with and their #1 priority is their own safety, their co workers safety, their dogs safety, the person who called and gave what could have been a false report's safety, then the safety of the person/s they're there to investigate or save.
The Supreme Court allows police to be lazy. It's the states that have to step up with laws on what the police are suppose to do as well as not do. It can't be something some instructor said or some oath taken.

Texas teacher here…thank you Jocko. Training is right!! I hold back tears every time I practice lockdowns with my littles-I give them assurances and my promises to do it right and best because I love them. I imagine the scenarios daily since the Uvalde incident. Preparing my heart for a worst case scenario I hope never comes.

As someone that lives about an hour away, I get more and more upset with every new piece of info I learn about this cluster-fuck of a tragedy.
What are the residents and families doing with regards to those cowardly cops? Anything? I would think the town would start to protest the shit out of those officer's. Look what happened when the "me too" movement was taking place, seems to me that this is far more justified to given them a taste of "cancel culture" and demand a total loss of their jobs and all benefits as a result of their proven inability to perform their sworn duty.

And just personally I would no way in hell send my child to a school ( safe learning environment) were security , armed teachers or metal detector s were needed for any dam reason. My heart goes out to any mother having to face the fear the next day of sending a child to school. 😥

I remember going to the gym when I found out. I couldn’t even work out. Normally I’d take the energy from a tragedy and go hard but this story just made me lose life inside me. I thought about how much I loved elementary and junior high and it broke me. Thoughts and prayers for the victims of this tragedy.

As a full time single father of two minor boys, my heart is broken for those parents outside that institution, hearing the rounds being fired, while LE prevented them from retrieving their children. While the individuals with training waited for tactical gear and body armor, the parents were willing and understand, they are thier child's armor, and would willingly lay down their life so their child may live.

As a former LEO I support massive, centralized overhaul of LEO hiring and training standards. It was a mess when I started, and has never improved. Unbelievable amounts of cronyism and nepotism when hiring. Initial training is insufficient. Countless hours of emphasis on chicken shit like marching and shoe shining. Not enough emphasis on first aid, mindset, defensive tactics, communication, decision making. Minimal stress inoculation training. Once you hit the beat training all but stops. Hours per year. Maybe 24 hours per calendar year of mandated training. And to circle back to poor hiring practice…all the cowards, yes men, shitbags, and slugs…once everyone knows who they are…you have them for 20, 25, 30 years. They dont get weeded out or forced out. They just exist. They are career liabilities and everyone knows it. But the administrations tend to get caught up head hunting people who piss them off by saying shit like I am now, and not the people who need to be weeded out. They will hold on to a fat coward shitbag yes man all day and witch hunt a stud who has the courage to ask questions.

This is the first time I’ve actually been able to tell Jocko was really pissed. He is a very wise man with a ton of common sense. I really wish he would get into politics to help turn our country around.

I would like to see an updated discussion now that the hallway footage has been released.
Anyone who has ever seen or met Arredondo in person knows immediately that the only breaching or room-clearing training he's ever taken part in would be that of the buffet or a table full of breakfast tacos. He was put into that school district police chief position by all the good ol boys, who are now in full-on circle the wagon mode. Arredondo was sworn in to the city council position secretly, in a closed ceremony a few days after this incident. The city of Uvalde will do everything to sweep this gross negligence under the rug by any means necessary. Arredondo's only goal within that incident was to shovel his responsibility as the incident commander off onto someone else, which is evident in his abject fear to make any type of decision. Jocko absolutely nailed it on all points, most importantly was Arredondo's ignorant decision to not take critical communications equipment, and his pathetic answer to save face by saying he was rushing into harms way with two hands on his gun...
No one in Texas should stand for this, not just the people of Uvalde, but most decent people in that state need to be protesting this guy in every way possible. Don't let him or the world forget his uselessness.

My dad served with the 1st bat of the 75th ranger regiment. He spent alot of time trainning me always said the word is getting worse. between 13 and 17 years of age i was taught to fight with a rifle and hand gun, got me enrollled in bjj and later kickboxing, one man room clearing and cqc drills. Always go back to your tools and " The wrong decision is better than no decision". He was a great man and a true warrior. I was blessed. The other thing he pounded into me was before u learn to break something 1st u must learn to fix it and so he took me to 1st response trama training and other classes. Learn to heal and save before u learn to destroy and hurt people.

I worked on him for over 8 min the emt's had to pull me off. 16 people stood and watched including my brother while i fought for him the vary last time. Never fought so hard in my life and i made a point to fight my whole life. They told me he had the widow maker heart attack and was dead when he hit the ground but i got a light irregular pulse at one point. I teach my children active shooter drills. I also teach my children to call me if this would happen. I walk the halls of the school to understand the layout bc I am coming.
Of all states, I didn't think Texas would have cowards as cops.
I honestly think its a generation thing. Back in the early 2000s there was a shootout i think in tyler texas. A man with an AR-15 went and shot up a Texas courthouse. You literally saw on camara officer running in the line of fire towards the shooter. These dudes had some balls they disregarded their own safety and towards the prick as he was firing at them. That being said whats my generation people from the early 90s we are failing to step up to the plate and these younger generations aint looking to bright either. Thats why I believe we need to have a mandatory military service for anyone who is getting out of highschool for 3 years. We need to tough these generations up.

@@jordanaguirre2540 I lived in Tyler when this occurred. It was at the Smith County Courthouse in 2005. One of the men killed was a citizen named Mark Wilson who confronted the shooter David Arroyo with a revolver, shot him with a revolver, and when he had to reload, the shooter came around the car and executed him. There was a former Marine sniper (IIRC) that grabbed his M4, and jumped on the hood of one of the patrol cars while they chased him through town. They finally disabled his vehicle on the loop and the sharpshooter shot him right in the head.
It was a tragic situation, but executed perfectly by police. The man shot his wife and son, and a few others (including the citizen Mark Wilson), and the police hunted him down and shot him dead like a dog.

"Had to train their default mode to be aggressive", I worked for several years as a fire fighter, the first fire that I went to, we showed up and the house was very on fire(flames blowing out roof and windows), I remember thinking, "someone should call someone about that" and then realizing that someone already had, they had called me 😅and that made me take a second to think through our tasking to figure out my responsibility was. The whole situation was overwhelming, but because we had trained, I was able to figure out what task I was supposed to be performing. I figured out that I was supposed to be making sure no one was in the building, I joined up with my captain and began search operations. No people but we were able to save several pets. No grand heroics, but having and following procedures allowed us to keep the situation from getting worse. We got the people/creatures out of the building and put the fire out. None of those things were going to do themselves, but we practiced doing them. I did not get paid enough to make "it worth it", but I did want the chance to get to improve the lives of people in our community, the duty was the motivation....and practicing what to do lets you be aggressive. I am glad to never have been in a situation that was this dangerous, but we did practice doing the things for situations like this, and I think if it had come down to it, we would have been ready to act, I hope anyways, we did in other situations.
The situation gets better when you put water on the fire/lead the bad guy. Then you are safe 😅

More than once had to wipe my eyes , it really touches one emotionally so heavily.
I hope your discussion and the very valid points you make about mistakes and training are noted by your police authorities and that they make use of your hard earned experience and leadership qualities.
My heart goes out to all in that community , it must be terribly difficult for the parents to accept such mind boggling, sub standard action from their law enforcement officers.
For those young kids who were present at the slaughter of their classmates , I can only wish you strength and my prayers. Share your grief and fears, try not to bottle it up.

it is a standard to have a security guard in almost every public place (maybe except MOST restaurants)
so I grew up in schools in which at every open gate - sat a lightly armed security guard, whose role was to check everyone who enters the school and is not supposed to be there.
never once have I felt I was in prison
those guards actually became a part of the social fabric
we liked them and looked up to them
they helped us when needed, were friends of our parents, and generally made our days better, since its always good to see another familiar face.

The only response, morally and legally, was to enter and eliminate the threat at any cost. This was not only a failure by police, but a failure by society to uphold the moral principles that make us who we are.
Running in to die wouldn't help anyone! You are right, its a failure of society to address the root cause and secondly to protect children at schools by ensuring all states and municipalities have well documented SOP's coupled with Law Enforcement being equipped and trained to respond using said SOP's.
If people think some small town LEO's who maybe got a 15wk Academy, gets to the range to train twice a year, lives in a community with a medium income of $25k is suddenly supposed to storm a building like they are Devgru/Unit operators are so mistaken its hilarious and lacks complete context.

They had a full-fledged SWAT team and there were 19 cops in the hallway armed with rifles and body armor who stood down as that man executed children. Obviously they should have went in immediately. Yeah except these police officers probably weren't trained for anything like this and if they could've called SWAT they probably would have, people can type on the internet all they want but most people don't actually know how they would react right now as they read this comment if they were put in the exact scenario those officers were in even with their training, that doesn't mean I'm saying what they did was right but with all that adrenaline running through your body, if you aren't used to that it will be very very hard to make clear rational decisions and that' assuming you're healthy, if you already have heart issues or psychological issues and numerous other health issues could obviously be life threatening.

I grew up in and still live close by to Oxford and I want to say I have tremendous respect for the Oakland County Sherifs because they responded and went right into the school without hesitation and neutralized the shooter very quickly. They obviously allocate a lot of time and money towards training and it really showed that day.

I hope to God Jocko addresses the fact that the Uvalde bragged on Facebook about all their new S.W.A.T gear while posing in a picture claiming they had been practicing anti-shooter drills IN THAT EXACT FUCKING SCHOOL. All of that city's money had been given to that PD and they spent it on fucking military gear, trained in anti-shooter drills IN. THAT. FUCKING. SCHOOL, had the balls to brag on FaceBook about how cool they were, and this is the fucking outcome we got.

I understand the tone of outrage. I believe the individual officers have perfect self awareness of their non performance. If it helps, they will reflect on that every day the rest of their lives with regret, sorrow, and inconsolable remorse. I know I would if I had failed to act. I know Jocko says you cannot predict your own behavior. But i know my character over decades. I suspect these cops, decided in advance on a deeply personal level they would NOT risktheir lives, and that day they followed through on that self promise. They knew. They damn well knew.

I attended public schools my whole life. Every school I went to had at least one security guard. It doesn't have to be scary. In fact, a few of them were quite friendly. I felt safe.

The frustration and pain in his voice almost had me in tears multiple times, this is so avoidable because we have a generation of men trained for this type of situation
We now know that there were nearly 400 law enforcement personnell on this scene (from local, state and feds) and not a single one took action for 40 minutes. It is a complete failure of not only one department, but American law enforcement in general.
I'm glad that he brought up the concept of mentally preparing yourself to die. I remember accepting that when I joined the USMS, that I could very well be killed and/or be required to kill another person. Many, many cops never do this and so they go through their career afraid. This is why so many unarmed people get shot for no reason when a lower amount of force (requiring some more risk to the officer) would have stopped the threat. It doesn't help that even in my own training, I was told that my safety was the most important thing in a scenario. The vast majority of "officer survival training" was aimed at scaring us about dying. It's a fundamental issue in all Law Enforcement training in the US.
There needs to be a deep dive by the people of Uvalde. Not The State of Texas. Not the Federal Government. The People of Uvalde need to examine the command culture of their municipal PD to find out why not one officer said, "Sir, I relieve you," and organized a rescue.

Did you know the US Supreme Court actually ruled that police have "no duty to protect" citizens? Police are always the teeth of the state, but in modern times they've fallen even lower to become essentially bureaucracy enforcers. It's crazy to me that people ever trusted the police to do anything besides clean up, and harass people for minor "crimes" that affect no one.

I am an almost 30 year educator. This was a very important podcast. I hope echelon front looks into creating more programs and training for educators, as someone who attended a muster I know fellow educators would benefit greatly from the training. Schools are not pro-active and unfortunately rarely reflect at what has happened previously and make the necessary changes. Many of the same issues that happened in this case happened at Columbine. Schools very often just try to wish problems away. The Muster I attended opened with a discussion of the Crimean War and how the British did not learn lessons from that war contributing to the catastrophic results of WW1, I feel that was unfortunately a great analogy to use with many schools as on many issues we have had things happen that should have been "teachable moments" to learn from and make changes from, and that does not happen. Schools are often funded based on graduation rates, low discipline rates, attendance rates and unfortunately these priorities often conflict with basic safety issues. Add in issues of "confidentiality," 504s, IEPs, having to allow students to use the bathroom, restorative justice programs, issues over making students and staff wear ID, concerns over what is referred to as the "school to prison pipeline," funding following the students....these issues very often complicate basic safety issues. Again, I really think school systems: admin, teachers, students, parents could benefit greatly from the ideas of Extreme Ownership. Unfortunately, it requires wanting to pro-actively deal with issues and very often schools systems don't want to do that. Columbine was in the late 1990s, Sandy Hook, Parkland, the lessons should have been learned. What has changed?
I was kind of thinking the same thing.....After Columbine, what was done to prevent further horrific and tragic school shootings? I always thought police stations across the country would develop a swat/q.r.f type division dedicated to only a active school shooter. I don't have kids of my own but have a 13 year old niece who gets physically ill from nerves about going to school. It's so sad that kids now have to be scared to go to school.
Analytical mind beyond most. With natural leadership qualities.
A battle hardened warrior. His face etched with sorrow for those poor kids. And frustration at the failure of the response, at the failure to respond.

Insane... to hear the excuses, the coms breakdowns, lack of leadership, lack of training, heroism of parents and children, the horrific losses of innocents. As a HS teacher I'd do the training for sure, but it would need so much training, on top of all duties. Do I trust some of the other teachers to do this? Well...no. That's why I support dedicated armed security first, not just "arm the teachers".
I don't care who's armed, just shoot back. When you get their attention, if not stopping them, gives the others time to move/maneuver. LOL When my wife tells me about stuff of this nature, she knows she's going to hear "Why wasn't anyone shooting back?"

I went to a private military school. There was only one there that didn’t belong bc he was like a bully, but he wasn’t a teacher, he was just a tac officer.

I’m a full time fire/medic in New England and we’ve trained with our PD locally on this… knowing what they’re gonna do and us coming in right behind to render aid. 2 out of 3 full scale training events we had blue on blue engagements and also on our side lost track of where folks we’re working. It’s chaotic and more dynamic than any fire situation. Totally echo the sentiments on comms.

yeah and I bet you didn't have civilians trying to get in plus armed teachers. It 'd be easy to see how things could really get out of hand.
Now add another factor that happens in many areas. You said you word with the local PD and that is great. . But suppose it was one Highway Patrolman (trooper), and off duty federal agent, and a Sheriff's officer that first arrived. That is three and they need to go in. None of the three worked with you or each other but they are under obligation to go in. This could end badly but they have no choice. They don't need civilians running around as they try to take him down.
I think civilians rushing in could be very dangers and even more so if some of the cops charging in are not in uniform.

Now we know that an officer had a 146 yard rifle shot on the gunman and asked for permission instead of taking it. We also know that the door to the classroom was never even locked.
All military combat specialties and civilian LEOs KNOW that they're supposed to go DIRECT to THREAT in an active shooter scenario. This was cowardice, lack of communication, and lack of training. You don't WAIT for a breacher or a KEY during an ACTIVE SHOOTER scenario. You kick in the door.
Go through the sheetrock, break a window, drop down through ceiling. Anything to get between the perp and the kids.

A lot of people in a lot of scenarios - not always even life & death - "know" what they are "supposed to do." But in the heat of the moment, when it gets real for the first time, they panic, they forget, they hesitate. That's the point of the kind of training Jocko is talking about in this video.
Hope he does an updated segment now that everything has come to light. Those cowards should be charged with accessory and pensions given to victims families

I went to private school and we had a security guard. It was completely normal and actually made me feel safe in HS (live in crime ridden Atlanta)
I graduated in 2003. My school had multiple buildings, some doors were locked, and most weren't. We also had 3 police officers that were at the school most, if not all of the time, and some additional security presence from time to time. Some of the windows had chicken wire in them so people wouldn't get thrown through glass. I never heard of anyone being uncomfortable with the police/security presence. This may sound extreme to some folks, but we didn't find it unusual at all. We had bomb scares at times, and sometimes vandalism. We had both evacuation and lockdown protocols that were simple, not alarming, and seemed relatively effective. Most of us thought it was entertaining.

That "20% of time should be active training" is 100% spot on. This would fix so many problems in modern policing.
Defending is the issue. Most cops get one day of active shooter training. Very few force on force with simunition.
This is gross negligence to the degree of the police being culpable.
Less toys, more training. That's what the Police needs.

I am from San Antonio, TX. I went to a Uvalde memorial for the victims the weekend after it happened and it was overwhelming to witness the level of grief in this small community.
As an Israeli it's hard for me to understand your American mindset.
Back in the 80s we had terrorist attacks on schools, and since then we had an armed guard at the entrance of every school, guess what happened?

Politicians here in US figured out that they can just keep their job by coming up with solutions that can never be fully realized.... ie gun control.
The 1 school shooting the armed guard was a coward and didnt go in. He lied and said he thought the shooting was outside. He still to this day wont do a interview

I've posted a few times,but the money sent to Ukraine since Feb could put 5 swat agents in EVERY school in the US (nearly 140k schools) for a whole year, based on average pay. I am not a fan AT ALL of Russia, but we need to focus on our kids.

Supreme court protects them Several DV cases cops told the abused partner to get a gun. Many try sue police but they're not required to try save you even if someone trying kill you unless promise like Witness Protection program. Crap hits the fan possible I will be on my own.

Very unpopular opinion, but I think the police acted how a police would act given the scenario. The analysis is good - but it’s from the wrong perspective, even though I would agree with everything he said from my perspective- but that’s just the thing, it’s MY perspective. I’m an army officer, Jocko is a retired SEAL. So while our perspective may be to pin them from the front and send a section to fuck them in the ass, we should also understand that the police did not have the training, nor the command structure to do this effectively and safely. Carry out these maneuvers safely requires training, rehearsals and command structure that the police simply is not designed for. For example what’s the police SOP on avoiding blue on blue in these scenario? Doubt they had any (and before you say uniform, walls are not always bullet proof). Who leads it? Who is the 2IC in case the IC gets shot? Did they have enough bangers with them to deal with a barricaded enemy? The condition simply isn’t right for the POLICE to carry out such action. A platoon of infantier maybe, but not the police.

She’s a badass and she’s been being harassed by the cops. They don’t want her telling how she rescued her two boys and or of her boy’s best friends.
Because it highlights their cowardice they are engaging in intimidation tactics and telling her that talking to media about this constitutes interfering with an ongoing investigation.

The real shot callers are the rich people who lobby for these decisions. Yes he still has ability as a politician, but the real Shot Caller is the agendas themselves.
If jocko was president they would tell him how to move and when to move and if he said something nationally it would cause Havoc because so many people, have agendas that are opposing each other.

I was born in this town and left when I was 26, 41 now. Everyone knows everyone, these Leo's will never be able to shoe face in that town again. You left out an important detail about the border patrol agent Albarado, he was getting his hair cut and the damn barber gave him his shotgun after getting a text from his wife. From the pictures I've seen it looks like a maverick 88. Very few people in Uvalde make more that 40k a year and 70% of the homes do not have central ac. Mostly poverty but they make a living if they work. I lost track of where I was going, just wanted to add some more information to this tragedy. Picking up a case of GO from HEB tomorrow btw
