My aunt was in the Las Vegas shooting, and she has never forgotten it. Every 4th of July, she retreats to her room, with noise cancelling headphones, and cries. She has PTSD and is spooked by loud noises. The event has affected our entire family. When you see a death count after a shooting, remember that every single number represents a family devastated.

They didn't do school for the rest of most of the year. They came back to school and had half days on the days they went back. They went back so that they could be with each other, and be there for each other during those times. It was very sad.

Not-so-fun fact: My best friend/Roommate’s girlfriend is a survivor of the Parkland shooting. I’d say her and I are pretty decent friends as well. She has massive PTSD from it. She said the bodies prevented folks from leaving through the conventional exit and the shooter used the fire alarm to draw students out. I was at the movies with some friends including her when someone pulled the fire alarm and we had to step out, she had a whole breakdown from it. My best friend had to console her for a while before she calmed down. Sad that even survivors have to battle the demons they never asked for

Some say it's because they know what happened, others say there's just something off about it.

She was saying that she was didn’t have much time to talk or worry she had to save her kids. i told her i loved her and to keep them away from the doors and windows and then i heard a bang and the call dropped. I work in a rehabilitation center for brain injured individuals. i sprinted out of my work and up the stairs hysterical i was shaking and everything was running through my head. i told my coworkers to call my boss because i needed to go NOW. I got in my car and raced to her work and there were seven or so cop cars and cops with ar-15s. luckily they found the kid before anyone was hurt and my wife said the bang was a cabinet falling when they were moving it to block the door. and she doesnt know how to call failed. i will never forget that feeling and fear and how i felt like my world had just completely ended.

during a drill my 9th grade teacher told us all the flaws in the way our classroom was built as to where the shooter could enter and told us to know if we were to die to go down fighting. losing your life to injure the attacker could save the lives of others. she told us to use our bags as sheilds and was as straight forward and realistic as possible. kinda like trying to get us to understand how serious it was.
edit: i really appreciated how she talked to us bc a lot of teachers pretend it will never happen and others downplay the seriousness.

    Sharing a personal story.
I found the video to be truly beautiful and informative. Your conversations flowed so smoothly, and I gained much knowledge from it. Unfortunately, I recently experienced a false school shooting alarm. Even though it wasn't real, the sounds of the alarm, the sight of students running down the halls, my teacher telling us to run, and being the last one to leave my classroom made it feel real as anything. I know it may seem weird, but I have never been prepared to get hurt at school. It was really a wake-up call for me.

That’s one reason I love Philip Defranco. He never shows the murders or their names (unless there’s a manhunt), he only focuses on the victims. Much respect for Anthony doing the same thing.

    • @kittykatgaming8296

@J0sh Suççs actually, most mass murderers who have been asked after the fact have admitted they did it for the attention, to make everyone know their name. They literally killed for the notoriety. So some people believe it’s best to NOT give them that attention. If we keep the attention off the perps and they are basically cast into oblivion, maybe just maybe we could stop the mass killings for attention.
The only time I agree they should post the name and picture is if they know who it is but are trying to find them. Then for the safety of the public, we should know who to look for.
However this is only my opinion 💖

Thankfully, I never had to deal with this, but being a Michigander, in the span of less than two years was the Oxford and Michigan State shootings. It was tough to imagine that places where you grew up, places that are nice and beautiful, can be sites of horrific events. After the MSU shooting, I started getting thoughts of what if my college is the next one.

I cry the most for these people.
Heartbreaking to hear how those monsters called Isaiah a slur before shooting him. I always start bawling when i hear his last words, "I want to see my mom."
I feel absolutely horrible for Kyle. He was disabled, so when i heard he didn't know to hide and they shot him, i started sobbing.

My school avoided a shooting before it could happen. I don't remember the day because I didn't know about it until later on. A picture of two pistols on campus was sent through some means to administrators at the school. Most people took it very seriously and more than 80% of the students either didn't go to school the next day or were picked up early. Turns out some kid was arrested that day and confessed saying that they were gonna shoot the school up. The only reason that they didn't is because there was almost nobody at school by 5th period. The shooting was supposed to happen during 6th period.
