The Ares Cable Attachment is a fully integrated, functional trainer and lat pull down / low row attachment that fixes to your existing PR-4000 or PR-5000 power rack. This saves major space, by bringing a ton more versatility and cable exercises inside the rack, while preserving nearly all the original functionality. The Ares features dual weight stacks of 260lbs each (with an option to upgrade to 310lbs per stack) that you can use for unilateral exercises. Or connect both stacks together for bilateral movements that demand heavier weight, like lat pull-downs. The trolleys are designed with a smooth plastic liner that’s easy to adjust up and down with one hand.
The front pulleys swivel 180 degrees for versatile movements and work outside the rack. Hot-rolled steel plates with a machined finish assure consistent and durable weights that the magnetized pin slides into smoothly. A metallic black finished shroud, with a recessed stainless steel REP logo, features laser cut windows to see the weights moving. The 2:1 ratio means 100lbs feels like 50lbs, ideal for functional training. The Ares comes with a footplate to brace against during low rows, four micro-adjustment 2.5lbs weights, D handles, a knurled chrome lat pull-down bar and low row bar, and a connector banana. If Ares is the God of War, this is the attachment to train you for it.
• Light and smooth trolleys with a knurled handle and oversized pop-pin are easy to move with one hand, but strong enough to handle heavy weight. They're lined with a special plastic to protect your upright.
•
PULLEYS AND CABLES
The Ares features more than 30 aluminum pulleys with custom retainers to keep the cables on track. The front pulleys have a 180-degree swivel for versatility and the ability to work outside the rack.
•
WEIGHT STACKS
Two 260lbs weight stacks made from hot-rolled steel have a 2:1 ratio (100lbs feels like 50lbs), ideal for functional training. Upgrade the stacks to 310lbs or 620lbs total. - Zábava
ARE YOU considering the Ares Cable Attachment?
Rep Fitness Ares: www.repfitness.com/#5f3b28f9517b0
Ares 2.0 is pre ordering in may and shipping in August. Fixes all the issues with the 1.0
Looks great, you thinking of getting it?
Appreciate your thought process on this
Always interesting to watch your videos
I appreciate that!
Just ordered mine super excited!!
Awesome!!!! Did you get the extra weight? Did you use my link, if so I owe you a thank you gift
@@NoFate247 yes and unfortunately no I forgot about affiliates, sorry I’m a bad subscriber 😅 The space saving will be perfect for me, had to add the two uprights and cross members but with everything it was about 3500 shipped with a 10% discount. Hopefully optimistic that it’s good quality like the rack
How did it turn out?
@@RP-wm7xk still waiting for the shipment but hopefully soon
I love the idea of a stack within my rack, but waiting to see what they come up with for people like me with their existing plate lat low row. Nice hearing your honest thoughts on this much hyped new release!
thanks for checking in! How do you like the lat plate loaded pull down!?
@@NoFate247 love it, so smooth and easy to install!
I have to agree with you I think that's probably what I'm going to end up doing starting my new home gym never had one before but looking forward to it I think this would be a great all-in-one trainer that I would need for what I do primarily
Thanks for watching! If you end up going with rep and using my link let me know so I can send you a thank you gift.
Thanks for the honest review on it. Don’t think I can spend that kind of $$$ on it. Really like the concept of it though.
I love the concept and understand the cost but it 's a big pill to swallow.
Checking in.
Your the best! Thank you
um. 300 months of my gym membership! you gotta be committed to the home gym. & i do understand most places you can’t get into a nice non PF gym for $10
Yeah the ROI compared to a gym membership is LOOOOOOONG
I’m strongly considering it to start my home gym. This and a bench along with a barbell will be all that I’d need. Then I can always add a landmine and other attachments.
Yeah if you got this to start you shouldn't need anything else plus it's easy to add accessories down the road
It would be so clutch to have this. You do not need much else really.
makes sense if you don't have a rack and starting from scratch
Thanks for sharing your opinion. I totally agree with your situation. In my case, I think totally worth it. I was able to sell my functional trainer close to original price. Space saving + 6 point cable + 310 lbs (dual) is very nice for my routine. Also, chest fly can little narrow for tall person but It totally works for me. On top of that, Rack will be rock solid stable. Now I can attach shrimp trawler from rogue to hang my punching bag. This is huge win for me. Already ordered and waiting for it!!
You sell your ft on Facebook?
Yes, I sold it on facebook. It was fast for me!!
I ordered the Ares. The Athena looks enticing
Did you just order the ares or when it first dropped
I find that the function of the unit is great, but there are better units (that unfortunately cost more) Such as the StrayDog Strength Functional trainer that catch my interest. I also prefer a wider unit. Nice breakdown
The width is interesting cause the model is 6'2 but will flies feel the same or cramped?
I had a 6 post rack w/ the lat/low row plate loaded attachment. I was happy with it, but after using it for months I wished I had a stand alone lat and low row, just to make it easier to setup multiple stations and super set push and pull movements. I ended up pulling the trigger on the 4 post Ares, which will be my dedicated functional trainer and lat/low row. Still waiting on the ares cable and weight stacks but already have the posts. I definitely think it’s a solid option if you’re in the market for a functional trainer
Thanks! Let me know when it arrives and your thoughts please. Sounds like a great set up
How did this turn out?
It is a super cool concept, but I am having a difficult time with the price.
I think everyone is having a tough time with the price! But that build quality does look mint
Force USA looks like a decent comparison X15 model. They have a seat that attaches into a post for lat pulldowns. Looks like a smaller company though and read some about some quality control issues. Hopefully more companies start jumping into building these.
The more that make them the better for quality and got the consumer
I have champagne taste but beer pockets
you and me both
If they had a 1:1 pulley system like their lat pulldown one it would be awesome! I was thinking about getting the Athena but at 2:1 will need to put 300lbs on each side to FEEL 150lbs. I'll have to buy a lot more weight as well or buy the selectorized one and add weight to each side which also adds a ton of extra cost. The 1:1 pulley would have solved this for me and would buy 2 Athenas in a heartbeat!
300 lbs on each side will feel like 150 on each side, 300 total. I love my athenas with the added weight stacks. I'm able to add weight easily with a gympin and adding bands def. helps increase resistance as well. But for super strong people, I get it can be a big pain in the rearend
@@NoFate247 any idea how much weight is safe to add on each side with a gym pin?
@@Txdc333 they say 500 total so I don't you could come close to that on a gym pin with a full stack
I’ve been keeping an eye on this. The only equipment I have right now is a 15 pair dumbbell set and a bench. I’m limited on space in a sort of small family room. It’s quite a bit of money for it all. I’m just starting out my journey into weightlifting. I’m hoping to see some reviews of the Ares system before it comes out. I don’t lift all that much, do you think with this system I would need to upgrade to the higher weight stack? Thanks for your insight.
No you definitely wouldn't if you haven't already been lifting for a while. B thanks for watching and subscribing
it looks like we can use a flip down safety to anchor the legs down
I definitely think that would work
Good review. The 4 post Ares will cost over $3500 with the upgrade weight stacks and because you have to buy 4 Uprights, in your video your making it sound like you get the 4 Uprights but you don’t !! I priced the Ares with using 4 post and it’s around $3500 plus !
So that's 3500 for power rack and functional Trainer and lat pull down, so not horrible if you need all those and have tight space. But it isn't cheap
Man I almost bought 4 post ares yesterday but still thinking about it. I don't know if I would like everything in one rack specially workimg out with wife. I was thinking about getting rp4000 with weigjt stack latlow pull down attachment and a separate FT.
I also like the drop in rhino belt squat inside 24" rack with surplus strwngh for latpull downs and separate FT
I think if you have the space getting a seperate FT is probably more convenient. But might prove more expensive. Just my thoughts
Oh if you do use my affiliate link let me know so I can send you a thank you gift

Have you looked at or reviewed things from valor fitness? I have a store by my house in Florida and their staff and prices are great
I reached out in the past but never got a rssponse, but I def. want to.
@@NoFate247 next time I’m in the store, I’ll bring your name up to the manager and see if it will spark something.
Great topic!!
Having a pulldown and functional trainer in one on my rack is very tempting, but I'll have to pass. I already have a pulldown on my PR-4000. I'm not sure how a dual pulley pulldown would feel and the added few inches on the top may hit my ceiling joists. Not to mention buying the unit itself, the other posts, cross members and Mass state tax puts me around 3600. I also have wide shoulders, I'm not sure that the 47" distance between handles would be enough.
By the way, what is the handle to handle distance on your Titan functional trainer?
Thanks!
How do you like the rep pull down attachment?
@@NoFate247 I dig it! I did add a few modifications though...
@@jasondobson7719 I have one too. What did you modify?
@@alexbodin937 I made my own Teflon bushings with a slightly larger inside diameter so they glide super smooth on the rails and I cut out a section where the top pulley is. Now I can use the top cable at different angles.
I just don’t think my usual excuse of “I’ve always had it. Don’t you remember?” will work on my wife this time.
Kiko - This time you tell her it's 100% tax right off
If you already have a 6 post, and she never sees the bill, I think you could swing it!
It has dual stacks. I highly doubt most individuals will be needing to do that weight stack upgrade. Even low row or lat pull down, at 2:1 ratio with both stacks hooked up, it’s 260lbs.. which is a crap ton of weight. You gotta be a monster to be able to low row or lat pull down that much weight.
It is a lot of weight, no lie
Is the 4 post option unstable. Say if your benching with safety bars?
No the weight from the stack makes this thing ultra stable
Can't you just use the safety spotter arms on the 4-post rack to perform incline bench? Essentially use the spotter arms like extended j-cups that give you room for the include bench...
Yes you could if you had the room in front
@@NoFate247 Any thoughts on whether you think someone could perform the lat pulldown with the 16"x16" config you can build with the PR4000? Feel like that'd be a really tight space for lat pulldown.
@@RobAndre-ok9vf Yeah you def. can, you'd be outside of your rack and the ares is in that 16/16 config. That's all.
Is their enough room to get under a bar for a squat with the 4 post option?
Yea there is enough room for sure. They have been doing tons of research before releasing it.
@@NoFate247 I contacted rep and they said it would be tough to get in their to squat or bench. As the Ares takes up a lot of room.
@@RP-wm7xk that's so strange...thanks for letting me know
Not sure why but cables don't interest me. I've used them at the gym and at home with a Bowflex and wasn't impressed. Give me dumbbells or barbells everytime.
Love being able to do drop sets quickly and some functional exercises with them but free weights are my bread and butter
No disrespect but how is it s review of a product if you're reason is that you already have a different version of it.
The rack and the ares aren't different versions. The ares is an attachment to the rack I already have
It’s a strange day when you’re NOT getting something from REP haha.
They make such good stuff, practically forcing me to buy it
FYI 195lbs is not 300lbs
Facts
You, Me and everyone else that works-out and at least 6 feet tall, along with our long monkey arms to match our height, can see just from the photos alone, that the cable pulley system on this REP rig is just way too narrow to do Chest Fly's comfortably without tearing your shoulders out of your sockets.
Yes, It's a nice Rack but it's just too narrow and way too expensive, considering you can get more machine elsewhere for the same or even less money.
I created my own Cable Chest Fly attachment on the cheapest Rack available, the Fitness Reality Rack and I bought two 8" x 3/8" Eye Bolts to bolt on the top outside part of the rack and it's nice and smooth and seems to be the perfect width for doing Cable Chest Fly's.
Thanks for watching. The model in the photo is 6'2 they say. BUt there are similar stand alone machines if you have the space
I get it the wife didn't approve the purchase.
She vetoed it 😢😢😢
I think it’s worth the price. Even if you have the space for a functional trainer and lat/low machine I still say it’s best to go the Ares that way you can save space for other items. I’d just be worried dropping that much money on something with no reviews. I know Rep put a lot of time into this but 3k is a lot of money 😅
Yeah I bet more people will consider it when people get it set up in their house and review it
These were my exact thoughts, I will most likely get this but I used all my will not to preorder and wait for reviews
@@sonofashepherd6668 yeah as a pessimist, I find it hard to believe any marketing info put out by the company.
