0:00 3 main reasons why you get muscle twitches (and how to stop them)
1:13 This is what happens when your blood alkaline is too low
3:50 These are the action steps you can take to stop or prevent muscle twitches
In this video, I talk about the 3 main causes of muscle twitches, called tetany, and give you some ways to stop them. You know what I mean! Sometimes it might be a muscle on your upper arm that’s twitching. Or on your face.
These are the 3 main causes:
    1. Alkalosis, a condition in which your blood is too alkaline. It’s difficult to test for blood alkalinity because as soon as you draw it, the blood oxidizes and changes the pH. I linked a video below that describes the symptoms of alkalosis.
a.Alkalosis is caused by: decreased potassium or hydrochloric acid in your stomach; high cortisol; and, the use of diuretics. You’re likely low in blood calcium, one of the electrolytes, and so your body can’t properly regulate nerve and muscle impulses, resulting in muscle twitches.
b.Oddly it doesn’t make sense to take more calcium because it’s alkalizing. Instead, you need to drop the pH. More on that in a minute. If you’re on antacids that could be making your body more alkaline.
    2. There’s a condition called hypocalcemia (low calcium). It could be coming from low parathyroid hormone, or low vitamin D which is more common. Some of the symptoms are tingling, arrhythmia, psychosis, and low blood pressure.
    3. Hypomagnesemia (low magnesium in the blood), creating tremors, spasms, fatigue, arrhythmia, and palpitations. This could be caused by antacids, insulin resistance (a prediabetic condition), antibiotics, low vitamin D, diuretics, and fluoride.
These are the actions steps you can take to stop or prevent muscle twitches:
    1. Acidify your body. Consume apple cider vinegar, one to two tablespoons in a glass of water a few times per day. Use a straw to drink it. Or you can take betaine hydrochloride right before you eat to help your digestion.
    2. Add magnesium and potassium to your diet. Eat more vegetables, which are full of these minerals.
    3. Take vitamin D and lower your stress. Get a water filter to pull out fluoride, and install one for your shower too.
Now you know why you get muscle twitches, and what you can do to stop or prevent them.

It goes both ways. For me, taking too much Vitamin K while trading Vitamin D caused Tetany. The extra K was pulling all the calcium out of the blood and into the bones, which made my blood alkaline despite taking 4000mg of potassium and drinking ACV daily.

My left eye twitching was driving me crazy it happened so frequently. I also had horrible leg and foot cramps which got worse when I started the Keto plan. Since August 16, 2021, I've been learning more and more including what to add and take out of my eating plan. I've added a considerable amount of Potassium and the eye twitch and leg and foot cramps have stopped. I can sleep for the first time in years without drugging myself with over the counter help. People say I seem happier and I feel that is true and now it feels like I have my brain at almost 100% on good days. I am very new to all this but so far I am loving the changes in me. Just for reference I am 62.5 years old.

Keto presently. I am allergic to eggs and am consuming grass fed beef and wild caught salmon and sardines. I eat cruciferous veggies and berries. I have cut out grains and take ACV daily in water. My doctor has me on 50,000 u of vit d, I also take magnesium, b12, and fish oil.

I've had this my entire life off and on, annoying. Since going on Dr. Berg's eating plan it has stopped occuring completely and I just had an epiphany watching this video. It's the HCL Acid that cured this condition. I drink an entire tablespoon of raw apple cider vinegar right before I eat. Dr. Berg has an older video which is most imformative called ' The Importance of Hydrochloric Acid'. THAT video changed my life and it should be linked with each daily new video he publishes. And they also never told him he was Hypokalemic. THAT + the diuretic could've killed him at any moment. He's been on Dr. Berg's way of eating for 9 months (both of us) and he is off ALL meds, lost 80lbs of fat and his blood pressure is perfect. He is 56 years old and in better shape/health than ever. Dr. Berg I love you man. Since the crash I have this eyetwitching now pretty often on my right eye. And I have actually high calcium and super low magnesium combined with steady elevated cortisol(did a Hairanalysis), or out of whack cortisol levels(more during night than day ala adrenal fatigue). And I had arrythmia during the first 3weeks.
How about a video on cooked vegetables? I see that DrWilson doesn't recommend too much cruc. vegetables for people with "issues", but wants people to eat cooked vegetables instead 3-5x a day. What's your take on that? They say that we're not able to digest raw food good enough to nourish a depleted body. Was thinking to skip cruc veggies for awhile, especially since if I remember right you say they're not that good for SiBo due to the high fiber intake. Which I fear I'm developing due to the system "shutdown" for such a long period.
I'd love a video on how to reduce Copper. Since I can't seem to understand it really. My potassium is on the high side aswell.
    Stuff of which I'm severly deficient is Sodium(Na), Manganese(Mn), Cobalt(Co), Silver(Ag), Silicon(Si), Boron(B), Lithium(Li) and Barium(Ba).
Thank you for everything! I've bingewatched all your videos last 2months to get my health back^^!

Also investigate whether you're hyperventilating. Hyperventilation increases O2, but decreases Co2. Low Co2 will reduce acidity. So in order to increase the acidity, you have to increase the CO2. Search for CO2 tolerance excersices.

Hey Doc, I've had muscle twitching for 18 months now mainly in the calves but started in my eye lid/arm. All bloods came back OK, GP sent me to get checked by a neurologist and all clear but still have persistent calve twitching but no answers? Magnesium is on the lower scale of tolerance, but i do take a supp each day, could the issue be the pathway/delivery? I also have heart palpitations on and off. Frustrating not having an answer. Haven't had Vitamin D checked in last bloods i don't think. Would love any feedback/thoughts. Cheers
