...and a BIG thank you for your service!
George Montgomery really shows what it means to be an American and what that FLAG stands for and I am a Badass Bronx German who was a SGT. Helicopter Crew Chief in the service
obedient
I enjoyed the bucolic barrio and lush jungle scenery; the Manila nightclub scene, chock full of winsome and willing hostesses; the exploits of Filipino guerrillas, male and female; the ocean, beach, and river settings. All ring true, based on the time I lived in the PI, and based on my mother’s photos and tales of living and working for the Army in Manila in 1946, six months after the war ended.
You mean an actor ????
You mean a bad actor, drukard, womanizer ???
@@pressureworks Very good actor, no proof of being a drukard
Enjoyed this video. Was stationed Philippines 1989-92.
Thanks for your service!
The Shanghai Marines were transferred out of China to beef up the Philippines just before Hostilities began! I've always wondered what happened to all the retired military Living in China during the War? There must be hundreds of untold stories of Survival!
The US Navy ship YW103 was a self propelled water barge (with no name given). Struck from the US Naval Register, date unknown, final Disposition and, fate unknown. Although it is mentioned in Navy records it became custodian of the PHILIPPINES date unknown. The closest YW designation I could find with any information was YW94 Placed in service in 1944, to see YW103 running around in a 1961 movie made in the Philippines makes me think this ship has a story to tell. It must have been in the Philippines during WWII. Thanks for uploading this movie.
I enjoyed this movie.
Am 100% Filipino- both parents born in PI- my father was USN Retiree (enlisted in PI- WW2, Korea and Bataan Death March Survivor)- I was born in San Francisco (USAF Vet).
From one vet to another, thank YOU for your service.
Do you wear flip flops, too?
Starts out a little corny and stereotypic but the action doesn't stop, and you just can't avoid getting into a decent action War movie. Not bad. Watch & enjoy. Thanks.
My Grandpa used was stationed in the Philippines during WW2- he said stories about American Soldiers with rank where Respected for their American Know How
Me , too!
WOW!
He just got out of the hospital, driver Sgt. asked the Captain-who just got out of the hosp. (where are you going the Captain) Captain says I'm going DOWN TOWN
Kaos agent: It's not Kraw ....it's KRAW!!!
🎉Not seen this film before. Pretty good plot, but too much 'I love you'
From the heroine.
Very nice the movie, but unfortuly the legeng stop after five minutes ???
!!!!!!!!!! 1961 >>> HEY WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM A "B" MOVIE & SMALL BUDGET >> BUT >> IT WAS PROVEN THAT THE FILIPINO PEOPLE WERE FIGHTERS DURING WWII AGAINST THE JAPANESE & A LOT OF HEROES WITHIN INCLUDING WOMEN !!!!!!!!!!!! HHOOAAHH !!!!!!!!
Really dragging the bottom of the studio B movies with this one. The color made a noticeable difference. Nothing wrong with MONTGOMERY quite a hunk of a man. This type of .mission was suicidal. After occupation yes there were cases of American active duty GI s hiding out with filipino resistance.
He's been in that country for a while how come he don't get out of that American Uniform
A lot of better movies about P.I. during WW II. Skip this one
Try "Surrender, Hell!", also on our channel!
Philippines December 25th 1941? Really? How many here were unaware the Pearl Harbor attack happened December 7th 1941 and the Japanese invaded the Philippines December 8th, 1941?
These people at this time wouldn't be going on weekend passes, they were either in the hills, being death marched on the Bataan peninsula or being worked to death in a Japanese POW camp. MacArthur really screwed the pooch on this one.
Back in 1899 the americans
Were fighting the filipinoes!
