Phenomenal work as usual. I’ve been wanting to get tubular OBDII headers for my 95 M3 for a minor OEM upgrade. Just yesterday I installed the E34 steering coupler you recommended, along with some poly shifter bushings (to replace my 250k mile original bushings LOL) thanks for advice and the content you’ve shared!
Also, I adore the look of your car - it’s the exact look I’m going for with my Arctic Silver M3 on contours, so elegant.
Awesome exhaust set up, really sounds great, perfect tone and not to loud.. I have the same M3 except mines a 97...my restoration/build is starting soon! Love Utah by the way!

The bolt holes on top of each exhaust tube are for a heat shield to radiate heat down.

Got these raceland headers too as they were much cheaper than supersprint and better than the chinese ebay versions. I can confirm they are even wider diameter than the euro s50b30 headers. They made more power up top, but lost some slightly in the mid range so it has it pros and cons. Get these ceramic coated and they will last a long time.
Did you have the car up on a dyno or are you basing the gains and slight losses off of the way the car feels while driving it?
@@TreatsOnTheStreets dyno before and after comparison. No other mod than just headers. The more restrictive the header will tend to give more down low and less up top. It's always a compromise, not gain everywhere unless $$$ spend on design and tuning. Makes sense to get these over Supersprint for the cost.
For sure. Much cheaper than SS and still good quality. Did you get a tune along with the headers, or simply just a before/ after dyno from bolting them on?
@@TreatsOnTheStreets I have an aftermarket ecu for my euro s50b30 running MAP sensor, used the same tune for dyno run for comparison. Your right, changing some parameters on my ecu map could possibly restore lost down low power, but just as a apple v apple comparison.

would sound even better with a ypipe to a 3 inch pipe after headers. Dual pipes lose power due to interrupted scavenging of exhaust gases. When cylinders pulses meet at 1 main pipe, they help scavenge all the rest 😉

I got these raceland headers ceramic coated, quality. Primaries and collector is also slightly bigger than euro headers.

I would do cams springs and retainers built bottom end bigger fuel injectors/fuel pump and turbo it . Can’t wait til i get mine hahah

What did you do with your SAP? Assuming you're in a non smog-nazi state. I want to do this. I have a fresh S52 on the stand on the garage ready to go into my 97 M3....but I'm in California so life sucks here for us car guys who like more power.
In the county I am in here in Utah, you are allowed 2 "not ready" status. I have the SAP removed via tuning so it doesn't throw a light, but it shows as not ready on inspection. Since I still had cats at the time and there were no other issues I passed.
Very nice set up...sounds great. I've been debating swapping over to the LTH. I currently run a 98 M3 with the JetHot shorty headers, the AA Track pipe center section, also tied to a DINAN muffler section. I always felt it sounded like half a Ferrari V12...maybe overstating, but sounds amazing. It has amazing low end punch, so little worried to losing that feeling. I also swapped over to the M50 intake and got a AA tune to help it breath better up top. It seems to pull hard through the rev range. Still running the stock cams and injectors. What would be the best header with supercharged setup? I'm shooting for that to be the next step. These headers are sweet looking that the price is hard to beat!! @3Vimages yeah, when I found out that Euro's make 321HP - if memory serves - and we are at 240...bummer. That and that sweet intake setup.
I’m wondering the same for my AA stage two SC e36 m3, with my m50 intake… where did you get your AA Tune btw? I’m from CA not sure where to go … Byblos Angeles area
@@andreworozco3183 I got my tune straight from Active Autowerks. Basically sent the ECU in to them and gave them a laundry list of things that were done to the engine...including the swap over to the 540i HFM. That was back around July 2006. I believe at the time they were running a great deal at 1/2 the regular price! Looks like they still have the software upgrade. With the mods I had, a little wider tires 255 vs. 245 in the rear (still a low grip summer tire), and the PITA clutch delay valve off...managed to get the car to run a 13.98 @ 98.8 mph with a race weight of around 3,480 lbs. Didn't think that was horrible on a stock drivetrain.

Did you resprayed your E36? It 's looks so fresh. I think the sound is a bit to much for your style and look.
It was repainted by the past owner.

A car with mods like his without cams should be in right around 220 to 230 whp

@@wheelracer1338 the car makes 240hp at the crank. When I had my s52 I was making 231whp without a cam, once I added my cam and other mods managed around 270whp.
What was the material of those bolts you put in the headers? Should have been something very high temp.
They're steel :)
@@TreatsOnTheStreets it's best if they are similar steels because they will then expand and contract at the same rate as they heat and cool.

Did you lift the engine to install the headers? Cause i just put the studs in and nothing fits
That's because you have to position the headers before putting in the studs if you don't want to have to lift the motor.
Did you put any custom mid pipes for your exhaust like use a y pipe and then a x pipe or did you put on stock. Cats
Custom midpipe. Dual pipes into a magnaflow resonator then dual pipes out to the Dinan axle back.
Will you still pass smog with that?

Mid pipe is totally custom. Resonator is a dual in, dual out. Not sure on the exact brand.
@@TreatsOnTheStreets nice cuz I'm st the same spot right now.. headers and exhaust need to be redone because exhaust leak (my excuse to upgrade)on the header flange. Definitely gonna do this now that sounds like that with no annoying raspberry crackling sound. Lol
What did you use to get your bumper trim so nice and black?
It has always been that way. I treat it with f11 or the last coat sometimes but it's pretty dark without it.

Thanks man! I'll have to ask the shop that made my mid pipe. It is for dual pipes. 2 in, 2 out, but it is a single piece unit. Almost looks like a muffler.

Right now Raceland does not have them listed on their site. Maybe send them and email and ask when they plan to have them back

Sadly ITB’s don’t do much for these US Spec M3’s. As cool as it is, it’s just not worth it for the money.
