Mercedes W220 W210 DIY - PCV Hoses and MAF Throttle Body Cleaning

- Are you getting lean engine codes such as P0171 to P0175? Is your car over 100,000 miles or 15 years old? The PCV hoses become brittle and deteriorate over time. This video shows how to cheaply replace the crankcase ventilation or breather hoses on a 2000 Mercedes S500/S430 but the procedure applies to other M112 (W210) and M113 engine models. As a bonus, the video also contains footage on how to clean the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor and Throttle Body on a W220 model.

How would it go to the cylinder?

@@HappyAlexandros no, it will dry and remain attached just to applied surfaces.
@@masood-tv What would happen, if you spray silicone spray directly into the cylinder? Lets say through the intake manifold.
@@HappyAlexandros I have never tried it before and don't plan to ever. I don't think anything too good can be expected.
There's also a direct PCV line

@@masood-tv quite el cuerpo de aceleración y tenía un plástico pegado era del acople de las mangueras. Lo quite y limpie bien y quedó solucionado

@@masood-tv Please expand on what you recommend around the throttle body "butterfly".. in the video you don't just clean the edges with the screwdriver/towel but it appears that you're also opening the flap. Is that ok to do on this and w210s?

@@masood-tv THanks much for your reply. One question, are there any symptoms to look out for specifically around the PCV system.. I'm used to other cars by doing a rubber glove test on the oil filler checking for suction vs. blowing .. is that applicable to these cars or should I be mindful of some other symptom (short of any ODB code/error)
Hi Holman, no problem. Na, these cars are built like tanks. You can apply all those concets, including spraying fluids...
No! No silicone SPRAY! Supposedly, it will ruin your sensors!
You are right... Don't spray on sensors. Just the rubber parts as in the video.
