  • Deer protein feed is a easy way to improve the quality of your deer herd. Our deer protein feed is MaxRax. We mix our deer protein feed with some corn and the deer love it! MaxRax is 16% protein with other essential nutrients to help your bucks to grow better antlers and also help your pregnant does. We show how simple and easy it is to improve the spring nutrition for your deer heard.
We show you the easy way to fill our homemade trough feeders with deer protein feed. We also share our secret for extra attractant using only corn. We have been feeding deer protein feed to our deer herd for four years. This past season our buck harvest demonstrated a great improvement in antler quality. We expect even better racks next season.
Deer protein feed is not an instant fix for growing a better quality deer herd. It is, however, a long term investment in improving the health and quality of your deer. The cost per ton for this type of deer protein feed is not cheap but it does what we expect it to do for our herd.
If you want to improve the health and quality of your deer herd, give supplemental feeding a try but keep feeding them for a few years. Deer protein feed will definitely help your achieve your goals of larger buck racks.

Rn I’m using soybean and corn do you think that’s enough or should I build a feeder and put protein pellets out?

Hey if they are eating the soybeans, that great protein. The feeder just keeps the food off the ground. This year we bought some auger feeders and that has been working well.

@@useful.knowledge I assume there are also feral hogs there. Seems like they would also be a problem.

Actually we don’t have feral hogs. If we did, we would have to work that. I worked in a National Forest when I was in high school. We built 1/4 acre plots just for the deer with fences to keep out the hogs and free range cattle.

In the hill country you must put up feeder pins

How often do you have to refill them?

He said it had been two weeks and it was all gone but I can tell 200lbs wouldn't last but about 2 or 3 nights where I am and we don't have a dense herd.

@toddhatten354 True! Sometimes they will clean it up in a few days.
