Stoked to see people actually still using the SR20, I have mine in my s13 still and love it enough to keep it going for my channel regardless of it being mad at me all the time
SR is my favourite engine bar none!! Nothing drives quite like them 💖
It's great to hear someone say they drove the gt86 and fell in love for once rather than knock it off for whatever reason possible, its a nice change of pace, and honestly what an absolutely beautiful example in every single sence of the car. I love the blitz kit too, looks way better than rocket bunny in my opinion and a breath of fresh air. the ducktail wing is so unique I adore it. The dash too and that stunning paint job I just can't cant get over everything, the fact that its then a functional road car that can kill tracks too just makes me melt every sence. Every aspect seems adressed and adressed perfectly. This is exactly the type of execution I aspire to achieve myself, I'm glad I can now say I have an incredible hero car to aspire too. I've been loving everything you've been putting out man

@@driftcrash2286 I would love to see the design of the cage you had in the black s14. As if i remember correctly it was very tight and as little as possible intrusive into yor life type of thing. Same idea as i want to make into my 242 whenever the times comes to it

Epic Build Mitto! I saw in one of Jake Jones videos (DriftSquid) that he was using close to 40 sensors on his RB with Motec. With your extensive experience running SR's what are you focusing on sensor wise to avoid detonation? Seen some cool stuff like a wastegate positioning sensor (Tial/Powersports). Being able to decipher logs and tune yourself is a very interesting art. I'm also looking at wiring my own harness looms- do you have any experience with this? - Cheers Mate
Im running a handful of sensors to monitor all the basic functions. But besides running a wideband and IAT sensors, nothing else fancy.
The wiring was done by RRR Engineering as it’s a bit beyond my skill set tbh.
Love the idea of the car it’s beautiful and I hope you drive it like you would drive any other drift car you would build!
So right now I’ll say I’m going to be sensible and drive it all nice... but as soon as it running I turn into a massive idiot and can’t help myself haha 🤣

It’s cool to love it and want to care for her cause don’t get me wrong you built an amazing car. I just hope you don’t turn her into a trailer/ garage/ shop host/ queen. Lol. The car is absolutely perfect on the exterior and interior. Now, if i owned the car, and had some cash to spend on it, i'd make a 1.5JZ for the engine, with the 2JZ block and the non-VVTi 1JZ head, a Trust T67 single turbo, with some intake and exhaust Trust parts, and some Kazama Auto suspension, steering and frame parts. But yeah, that's personal preference, i guess. And yeah i know, some of those parts that i mentioned are REALLY hard to find (if you can even find them), and if you do, they're VERY expensive, i'm aware of that. But in my opinion, that exact car, with the engine and parts i mentioned, to me, it's as good as it can get.

3:59 They are both based on the same aisin design. The 6 speed Sr trans, gt86s trans, rx8, beams j160 and a couple others are all pretty damn similar

my dream is to swap an sr into my brz (ZC6/ZN6) always loved schassis and the sr, but they are getting so expensive nowadays.. so I thought why not try to make a new schassis a186sx if you will.
So like, a straight cam SR in a BRZ or an FA20 in a 180sx? 😅
i am going to build one just like this so to have these videos to reference back to are priceless. thank you heaps for putting these out there... i am as excited as you are to see this thing shredding.
quick questions and apologies if you've already touched on this else where, what sub frames have you used?? i plan on getting an S15 while i build the 86 chassis and then dropping all the running gear into the 86....
Don’t use an S15... the prices are going through the roof. I’d buy an S14 🙂 That said... the S15 is a better car than the GT86. But if it’s what you really want, the cheapest option would be to make a very strong offer for mine! 🤣
@@driftcrash2286 i would be down for that but your on the other side of the world :) the s15 has been a dream car for mine for a while and i know building the 86 chassis is going to take me a long time hahaha but you make a good point. the s15 will be enjoyed before it donated its power plant to the 86

Absolutely not... the stock engine sucks and engine swaps are expensive!

@@driftcrash2286 Well none of it obviously cos you did it innit :) But the red with white wheels is right up my street, love your unique style on the interior :) But mostly love the fact your doing it your way, not conforming to any set look, and just going with what tickles your fancy! It looks so badass man, proportionally pleasing, sufficiently wide and with a very non conformist engine swap :) Legit proper car mate. Love it. Would love to do a feature when I get the new venture up and running :)

Totally different creatures! The GT is very nimble, but you don’t feel as connected? Nothing beats S15s for me tbh... shhh 🙈🤣

It’s not a single place, it’s kinda lots of stores that sell things that style. That particular one was in downtown Yokohama from memory, but I was catching a ride with a friend, so could find it again 🤣🤣

I have a stock brz with almost everything adjustable suspension wise, just no angle kit. I have gram lights 57dr (18x9.5 which I now know is too big for the car lol.) what do you think I should run right tire wise? I run 225/40 I’m thinking about 225/35 or 215/40 or maybe 215/35?
For drifting or for grip? It’s hard for me to comment really as I’ve always had widebody, so don’t know much about stock 🙈
